Zambezi Expedition Travel and Tours was helpful and accommodating.
Zambezi Expedition Travel and Tours did a great job planning our trip based on our needs and questions upfront and managing the tour while we were there. We weren't really sure what to expect so did have a lot of questions and were traveling with two children as well. We asked them to upgrade our camping accommodations and they made that work out. We asked them to reverse the direction of the tour they were advertising to meet our flight schedule and they made that work too. Oscar was very helpful and accommodating during his time with us and all their partners did a great job too. We were looking to keep our budget in line for this part of the trip as we had another week outside of the tour to fit into our budget and were happy with what we got for our money and would recommend this as an option to others looking to stretch there budget a little further.

Easy, relaxed, packed full of animals
Summary: Just finished an 8 day tour with Zambezi, starting in Victoria Falls and ending in Maun. I was a solo female traveller.
Company: This company was very easy to work with and we communicated via email and by whatsapp. Response was fast and informative. I recommend at least one person in your group has whatsapp if you're like me and like to double check pick up times or any other details. Silence and Nomvula were great at responding to any little queries I had throughout the trip and even changing parts at the last minute.
Arrival: I arrived a day before my safari and Nomvula helped me organise something to do on my spare day. I ended up going to Hwange which was spectacular. I was picked up at the VF airport by Nkasi who also detoured to help me and the other passengers get some sim cards in town.
Victoria Falls: I did the sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi River with Francis, who is very witty and friendly. And finally in VF of course the safari included a tour of the falls themselves. Mr B was a great guide and I got lucky as it was just the two of us so we had a really great chat and stopped at all the animals to take photos.
Elephant Sands: was a great place to spend the night as you can eat your meals just 20m away from where the elephants are hanging out. I also found a gecko and some cool bugs out at night while walking back to my chalet. This is a good place to facetime your family so they can watch the elephants with you 😀
Chobe: In Botswana most of the time was spent at Chobe National Park. There were two days with a boat ride and a game drive each day, but Zambezi helped me swap one of the boat drives to a game drive as I think I liked them better. Chobe is very packed with animals you will definitely see lots there. I was lucky enough to see both lions AND a leopard, as well as stacks of elephants, giraffe, impala, buffalo, birds, etc.
Okavango: Poling through the Okavango Delta was gorgeous, and the walk afterwards is highly recommended as it was the closest you'll get to animals while on foot. Arnold was a great guide.
Highlights: the animals (leopard, lions, elephants especially!), the tight-knit Zambezi team, chatting with the guides
Tips: accept every bottle of water someone offers you, you'll drink them all! Bring small change for tips - each section of the safari is organised separately with a different guide so I foolishly brought $80 for an 8 day safari (following the $10usd/day guide) but this was not very useful for each individual activity! Book a safari with some free time to chill out or do other activities eg the boma dinner. Download whatsapp. Write notes of the animals you see as I found I was forgetting the names of things (especially the birds). Buffet meals are often better than meals where you order off a menu in my experience. Have fun!

Extremely Professional and customer focused!
From initial enquiry/quote I received from Silence Takaedza (Zambezi Representative), the level of service was exceptional!
Silence was able to tailor the trip to my dates needed, which is much better than trying to fit in with tour company dates, so this made the entire trip easy and enjoyable! I was met by Silence upon check in at my first day, and gave me a run down of everything that was ahead. Again, service above and beyond!
Throughout the entire trip, I was kept informed about next activities/movements.
I had a personal driver with me for the road trips between locations, and Francis was fantastic! As a solo traveller, it was great having him there as someone to talk to about the experiences I had. Offering his company at times so as to not be alone, and also knowing when to just allow me some space to relax and take in the safari. Francis was an exceptional guide who ensured I was where I needed to be, on time and without stress!
It was a seamless and pleasant experince from start to finish of the entire trip, and I can reccommend Zambezi Expeditions for a guarnteed excellent trip!
It should be noted also that for activities not outlined in a trip/quote from Zambezi, they are able to help arrange these. I did not realise this at the time and I had made private bookings for activities, so advise letting Zambezi book/plan other activities for complete ease.
Overall, this was brilliant trip and I am so thankful for Zambezi Expeditions professional and personal service!

Smooth, well organised & reliable
Oscar and Silence were so friendly and flexible as they arranged and accommodated for our needs. Though the agency works with various agencies or drivers to do our tours, they were mostly on time and reliable. This is a tour agency that you can trust. No issue with the communication at all. We truly enjoyed the trip.

Trustworthy
This has been an unforgettable experience. Zambezi' s team, Oscar, Francis and Silence were extraordinary, made sure to be in time, carried water for us and even meals when was needed. Our driver and guide Francis shared with us all his knowledge of animal wildlife which was amazing and entertaining. Lodging was comfortable and ethnic. On the whole a great team and a wonderful way to get to know Africa, it's people and nature. Would like to repeat soon.

Fantastic experience!!!
I took a 5-day Victoria Falls and Chobe Safari tour as a solo traveler. Seeing so many lions up close on an early morning safari in Chobe was an experience I will never forget. What amazed me was how punctual they were at all times! They picked me up on time every day and made me feel at ease.

Great team organizing a great experience
We travelled as a family of three who went to Victoria falls, Hwange National Park with further added visit to Chobe National Park in Botswana and last minute addition to Livingstone, Zambia. We had a great experience with the team from Zambezi Expedition Travel and Tours. The game drives and river cruises (especially in Chobe) was such a great experience. We saw many of the animals we wanted to see. We even saw an elephant and hippo in the town while travelling to locations! Victoria falls was of course beautiful sight to be behold! This was our first trip to South Africa and this was such a unique trip to us.
In terms of the team, Silence was great to work with and was very responsive to our inquires and questions organizing our trip. She gave us clearly communicated and reliable answers. We would also like to express our greatest thanks to Oscar who was a constant extremely hospitable and friendly presence throughout our tour. He had made last minute arrangements for us quickly to eat at many interesting restaurants in Victoria falls including the Dusty Road with its unique Township experience and the Boma which had a dinner and energetic Drum/dance show. He also arranged a last minute trip to Zambia and Livingstone when we had a free day to fill. We could tell he was extremely busy with numerous other travelers but he always had a happy attitude and pretty punctual for all our schedules. Oscar made a unique experience comfortable, smooth with an attitude like a friend who was taking us around. I would highly recommend choosing this company and would recommend it to our friends!

Comfortable accommodations with everything you need. The Zambezi team has been very friendly and always present for everything we needed. Without a doubt a magnificent experience and highly recommended.

Great safari in Zimbabwe and Botswana!
We were a group of three travelers who chose Zambezi Exp for our shared safari to Zimbabwe and Botswana. Overall, we had a positive experience with the company. We were always in touch with Silence from the office, who was always ready to respond to our questions and needs during the trip. Our driver, Francis, was extremely friendly and willing to help us with all our needs.
The major problem we experienced was the lack of details in the program provided by the company. It was a mutual mistake, as we didn't ask for more details prior to the trip, and their program was very general. I would recommend adding more details so that travelers know exactly what they will do during the safari, as many activities and meals were not included in the total price or were not clear (for example, the experience in the bush).
Despite that, the team organized last-minute activities for us that were not included in our package, and we enjoyed all the safaris. The guides were very knowledgeable about the wildlife and parks. The accommodations were perfect for our needs and corresponded to what we had paid for. We did have some dietary misunderstandings with some accommodations and a lack of options (the three of us are vegan), but overall, we had access to plant-based options. This needs to be addressed better.
As for the activities, we really loved the quieter safari and wildlife-watching experiences and enjoyed them more than the "sundowners," which were more crowded and loud. I'd rather have those as optional activities and include birdwatching and other safaris as part of the paid program.
I highly recommend the company promote the use of refillable water bottles and water jugs instead of single-use plastic bottles, as plastic waste is a major concern.
Despite these points that need to be addressed by the company, I recommend Zambezi Exp for their promptness and kindness in assisting us. I hope to see you guys on another adventure!
