Amazing hiking and safari experience
We booked Meru Slopes & Safaris for both our 7d6n Kilimanjaro hike via Lemosho route and for our 4d3n safari in Tarangeire NP, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti NP.
For our Kilimanjaro hike, our guides were Nicodemus and Ibrahim and both were very knowledgeable and experienced and took very good care of us. They were the extra step to find rental hiking gear as one of our friends had lost their luggage in transit and made sure that we were well-equipped. We had about 12 porters including 1 chef and they were all very helpful throughout our hike especially on the summit push. Sufficient rest was provided to us, and as the guides were experienced, they could tell just by looking at the skies how the temperature will be like. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
Our guide for the safari through Tarangire NP, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti NP was Julius and he was one of the best guides anyone can ask for. He was such a ball of energy and even though he was our driver and guide, he never once showed that he was tired or sick of seeing the animals and continuously helped us to look out for these. He was so welcoming and friendly and he made us feel so welcomed and at home throughout our safari. We were so upset when our safari trip came to an end with him.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Meru Slopes & Safaris and highly recommend to engage them!

Perfectly organized tour with experienced staff
Starting from the beginning, we contacted the agency for a quote and for different questions, and we always got timely feedbacks. Highly suggest to book the tour directly with them, without passing through intermediaries because they are highly reliable.
They asked for our flights details, and they were waiting for us at the airport when we arrived.
Everything then went perfectly and according to the plan. Thanks to our very experienced driver, Robert, we felt safe during the whole safari (7 days), and we got to see many beautiful animals and moments, including the migration!
We have also eaten abundantly and very well thanks to our cook, Rashid, who cooked for us every day breakfast lunch and dinner.
To sum up, very reliable and 100% recommended!

The operator was very knowledgeable.
We enjoyed this safari so much that we're going to plan another safari to celebrate my granddaughter's graduation from chiropractor school in three years. We did the 5 Days Camping Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro crater & Visiting Maasai. This was an amazing experience. The company planned a beautiful surprise birthday party for my daughter while we were in Tanzania.

Extremely responsive and reliable, amazing guides, great value
My wife and I booked Meru Slopes for both the 3 day Mount Meru hike and the 5 day safari (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara). Leading up to the trip, we were extremely pleased with how responsive and helpful Jerome was in answering all of our questions about packing list, coordinating airport/transfer logistics, and making sure my wife’s food allergy was accounted for. All of the logistics were perfect, all drivers were reliable (and even taught us a bunch of Tanzanian music, which we loved). And the guides (Paul and Jonah on Meru, Jacob on Safari) and chefs (Jacob on Meru, Dula on Safari) were excellent (the soups here are so incredible…). Would 100% recommend this company to anyone else looking to book either the hike or safari or both. The accommodations exceeded our expectations and we felt that the tours were great value for the trip of a lifetime.

Great family adventure
While there are 100s of different tours offered here, we eventually chose Meru Slopes due to number of good reviews and good itinerary and price. We did 5days including wilderbeast migration.
Everything went smooth from the first contact. We communicated through email and whatsapp and was really easy to adjust the trip to our wishes and explore diffrent route options. Our contact Almachius was quick to respond even on weekends.
Once on tour our driver guide Robulu was great and very knowlegable about all the animals, with great level of english. We chose low budget, but sleeping in camps added to the adventure for kids. We went one day to Northern Serengeti to see the great migration. We didnt see the river crossing so if you really want to see it, we suggest to add a night in northern part of the park. But we did see all of the big five and countless other animals. We saw Leopard up close and personal which was one of the highlights of the trip. Although I do think 5 days of Safari is the right amount and we were quite tired at the end.
Food was good and you also get some sodas and beer/wine included. Believe me after long days of driving a beer at dinner feels really nice.
They picked us up and dropped us off at the airport and even offered to help when we forgot our camera in hotel on our departure. So throughout we had all the support needed travelling on our own, without the international agency involved.
While Im sure other companies also provide great services, as everybody in Tanzania is super friendly, but choosing Meru Slopes is something we do not regret. And for people travelling to Africa on their own accord, that dont like travelling through travel agencies in groups, we definetly recommend Meru Slopes.

They were very responsive and hospitable and offered great value-for-money
We did a 7 day (6 day safari) mid range tour. We communicated with Gift who was very prompt and answered all our questions before the trip. Our guide Douglas was the best that we could have imagined. He was an excellent communicator and was very helpful, always making the extra effort to give us the best experience on safari. We saw a lot of animals including the big five at Ngorongoro Crater. We also witnessed Wildebeest and Zebra migration. All of our stays were fantastic especially the one at Anantya lodge. Food was very good. We were provided with ample drinking water, beer and wine throughout the trip. I highly recommend Meru Slopes Tours. Asante sana for the amazing trip!

Perfect safari experience in Tanzania
We met a great migration in Serengeti NP and got up close to the elephants and lions in Ngrongro crater. Jarome was very professional and responsive in communicating the safari itinerary.Stanley has a lot of experience in finding animals and the chef Buga finishes a good job of arranging the daily meals. We got the perfect safari at a reasonable price with Meru.

Efficient, Organised, Brilliant.
We had a wonderful time on our four day safari. Everything was wonderful and we had the time of our lives. We would change nothing about the tour itself, the locations and things we saw were incredible. Eze was an excellent tour guide and we got everything we wanted and more. If you don't mind early mornings and camping, this is a once in a lifetime trip and the perfect length for us.
If you really had to push me for constructive criticism I would say that the vegetarian options were very repetitive, we would've liked some different foods every other day.
Best experience and a wonderful team, we were a bit nervous before the trip but had no reason to be. Everything went smoothly and was unforgettable!

Meru Slopes is a great choice
We joined tour "5 Days Camping Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro crater & Visiting Maasai" starting from July 26, 2024. This tour was offered by MERU SLOPES TOURS AND SAFARIS. We were very much satisfied with the entire tour, literally from the very beginning to the very end. The entire program was faithfully executed as described in TripAdvisor and other online platforms. On Day 1, we were picked up from our hotel in Arusha, and then had a good breakfast at the Meru Slopes arranged Arusha Tourist Inn restaurant. On Day 5, we slept at the same very nice Arusha Tourist Inn hotel. When we asked how to get to the shuttle bus to Nairobi next day after Day 5, Meru Slopes manager Geofrey immediately arranged taxi with no charge on us. That was clearly outside their normal program scope. They just always try to make guests easy and happy on everything. During 5 days of safaris, our guide/driver Rashid actively encouraged everybody in the car to form a family and help each other to achieve the common goal: to spot as many animals along the way as possible. He himself was certainly highly skillful in spotting animals and driving to the best positions to view them. We were able to see exciting wildebeests migrating (although not seen crossing Mara River), leopard hidden on top of tree, lions, cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, various antelopes, birds, many elephants, zebras, girrafs, warthogs, hyenas etc. The tour facilitated a binocular and a local animal textbook. These plus our guide/driver Rashid's timely explanation, made us learn a lot while enjoying dream-like view of wild animals. He emphasized over and over again "If you respect Nature, Nature will respect you", which was so fundamentally true. Our chef Booga, prepared every meal for us, which was always so warm, healthy and delicious. The camping contitions were much better than what we expected. Basic water, washroom, shower, electricity were adequate enough, although some glitchs like power outages did happen. All in all, we highly recommend this tour for anyone who has a dream of doing a safari in Africa. It was so interesting, enjoyable and rewarding. Our choice of Meru Slopes is a great one.
