The trip was incredible, from the acommodations, to the itinerary, to transportation, to our guide.
5/5

We couldn't have chosen a better company to organize our Ugandans trip with. From the begging, Home to Africa´s staff was very attentive and allowed us to organize our trip according to our preferences and budget. Everything was incredible, from the accommodations, to the itinerary, to the transportation. And of course, we can´t not mention our amazing guide, Brian. Extremely careful, attentive, patient and always worried that everything with our trip was allright. We are beyond thankful for the opportunity of knowing Uganda and its people. We were amazed by the country and the kindness of Ugandans and we hope that this was the first of many visits.

Excellent service from an amazing company, with incredible communication from the outset
5/5

Our safari was customised, by Home to Africa Tours and Travel, to suit our requirement of both Gorilla Trekking and Chimpanzee tracking. After arriving very late due airline problems (nothing to do with Home to Africa}, Hedmond and Derrick went well out of their way to ensure that we had a very good holiday, missing very little of our original itinery. They organised a very nice hotel for u sat a reasonable cost when we were a little stranded in the wrong place. Derrick our driver/guide was excellent, he was very knowledgeable, friendly and patient. We had an amazing holiday after a disastrous start, thanks to Home for Africa. We were never left wondering what was happening as Derrick kept us well informed and when possible gave us choices. Gorilla Trekking was incredible and although I am not the fittest person with help from porters was able to make it to see I would not hesitate to use this company again.

A Trip of a Lifetime and Wonderful Experience
5/5

What an experience, Derrick our tour guide and driver was absolutely amazing, Hedmond in the Home to Africa office was equally as amazing.

After a disastrous start to out holiday, caused by the airline not Home to Africa, we found ourselves stranded in Kigali after RwandAir had changed the flight times after take off, causing us to miss the connecting flight and the first day of our holiday.

We contacted Hedmond at Home to Africa who video called to assist with our dilemma, Derrick was in the office and we had a chance to introduce ourselves, this made me feel very comfortable as now I knew who to look out for when we arrived at Entebbe airport.

Derrick was informative, friendly and had excellent knowledge of the wildlife, culture and the extremely friendly Ugandans that we met on our trip.
The accommodations were comfortable and clean. Staff at the Irungu Forest Safari Lodge and the Ride 4 a Woman Lodge were very helpful and made us feel like family.

I highly recommend Home to Africa for any future trips to East Africa and would definitely use the company again.

Thank you to Hedmond and Derrick

Excellent service, knowledgeable guide
5/5

We did a 6-day tour with Home to Africa and our wonderful guide William, from Lake Mburo via Queen Elizabeth National Park (with chimp trekking), Bwindi Impenetrable NP for gorilla trekking and lake Bunyonyi for our last night before returning to Kampala.
They were very accommodating from the beginning and really tried to take our backpacker's budget into consideration. We did the"budget" tour and stayed in some of the most comfortable and beautiful places of our entire year-long trip. The food was great and portions were generous, we were never hungry.
We had some issues with our permits (admin wise) and William handled it all with professionalism, making sure our experience wasn't affected. We also had communication from Hedmond at the office apologising for the inconvenience.
William was also an excellent guide and driver. He shared his knowledge of the wildlife and culture with us with enthusiasm and passion which was extremely appreciated.
I also thought the itinerary was really well thought, it felt like a build up with the gorillas being the grand finale.
Highly recommend Home to Africa, it was very good value for money compared to other companies.

Way beyond my expectations! 5 Star!
5/5

If you ever booked a trip through international travel agent, you know that the first day equals to arrival, the last day equals to departure, a 13-day trip will leave you 11 days. But this is not the case for this local travel agent Home To Africa Tours and Travel: I was picked up in the early morning on day 1 from Kigali airport in Rwanda, driven entire day to Nyungwe Forest National Park. The next morning, my guide Theo picked me up at 4am from the hotel, drove to the National Park for Chimpanzee Trekking. In the next few days, I hiked to 12,000 ft Mount Bisoke, did Golden Monkey trekking. Then I was transferred to Uganda, started 8-day safari in this Pearl of Africa.

I have done many safaris in other part of Africa, like Tanzania, Namibia and South Africa, but the safari experience in Uganda was way beyond my expectations: I saw almost all kinds of wild animals, and so many of them, even including the very illusive leopard with twin babies 2 meters away! These could happen all because of my guide William from Home To Africa Tours and Travel, he cherished my time even more than me: we were the first left the safari lodge every morning and the last left the National Park, so we could encounter so many amazing animals in the early hours and late hours of the day.

William did not want me to have any regret before leaving his country: after knowing that I did not have the luck to see chimps in Rwanda, he rearranged a Chimpanzee Trekking in Uganda for me. With a local guide and only myself, I had the chance to see more than 20 chimps in the family of 58, including many playful babies and juveniles! I could not say enough Thank You to William!

On the last day of my 13-day safari in Rwanda/Uganda, we needed to drive 7 hours to airport to catch my flight at 6pm, they still fit me in with one-hour Rhino Trekking, I was lucky enough to see baby Rhino suckling!

Not only the guides, the staff at Home To Africa Tours and Travel were extremely helpful too, they provided me all the detailed information, answered my question literally in a few minutes—then I realized sometimes it was already past their midnight—I felt guilty and started to think about their time before emailing questions.

Anyway, this was my best safari experience ever! Highly recommended.

Exciting, satisfying, and worth it!
5/5

My wife and i took Home to Africa’s 4-Day Short Vacation to Uganda - Gorilla Trekking Bwindi.

The tour exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were lovely.

Zed our guide was very helpful, informative and funny. He was very animated and always makes sure that the long drives were lively.

The gorilla trek was exhilarating (even with the challenging hike up, haha). Seeing the gorillas up close is really a once in a lifetime experience.

Best trip ever in Uganda
5/5

Our tour of Uganda with Home to Africa was terrific. We spent 12 days around Uganda visting Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National parks, Bwindi forest (gorilla trekking), Bunyony and Mburo lakes.
I was very impressed by how professional and detailed was the correspondence with Hedmond the manager. He always replied to our emails within few hours giving us all the information we needed.
Another special mention to our guide Karim who was definitively an added value as he knows everything about Uganda, its history, its culture, its nature. Every day we learnt so many new things. He was always very caring and impeccable.
All the lodges we stayed at were great. Minimal but super clean and the people were always so nice and welcoming. We felt always at home. It’s remarkable the support Home to Africa gives to the local communities selecting always lodged managed by local people. It made the difference.
Every day was special as it was very different because Uganda geography is so rich and diverse. I would recommend to anyone visiting Uganda to get in touch with Home to Africa to have the best experience ever!!!

Unforgettable safari in Uganda, full of magnificent wildlife
5/5

I recently completed a 6-day safari with Home to Africa in August 2024, and it was nothing short of excellent. I am fully satisfied with the entire experience!

From the moment I started the booking and organization process, Home to Africa provided highly professional service. They always responded within a few hours, consistently providing the information I needed, which gave me great confidence that I had chosen the right travel agency.

The safari itself was exceptional, thanks to my guide, Vianney. Everything was well organized, and Vianney's warm and welcoming manner made the experience even more enjoyable. What truly stood out was his deep knowledge of Uganda, its wildlife, and its natural beauty. I learned so much about the country and its incredible wildlife, and thanks to Vianney's expertise, we managed to spot and observe many animals.

Thank you very much for an unforgettable safari!

4D/3N Gorilla Trekking + Lake Mburo
5/5

We did 4 days Tour with Equator, Gorilla Trekking and Lake Mburo and were super satisfied with the trip!
Derrick Wadria was the perfect guide, funny, knowledgeable and very flexible to meet our needs and schedule.
He had always a smile on his face and this made our trip unforgettable. He also bought bananas and pineapple from the local vendors for us to try and they were delicious.
The meals were always tasty, the quantity was adequate and the places we slept in were really charming.
The setting of the tents in Bwindi was really magic and we loved the night fireplace and the garden around them.
The tent in Lake Mburo was amazing, unfortunately we only slept 1 night there - but the view above the savanna was breathtaking.
Also the management was very accommodating and reassuring as we had to adapt the standard itinerary to our afternoon flight.

Only con was the car, we didn’t get the typical safari jeep but a tourist van - it was okayish but the front seats were staying right above the engine and sometimes it was too warm - plus the windows were smaller.
Plus, please include in the list of what to bring the gloves for gorilla trekking - it was not nice to unexpectedly pay 10$ for a set of gloves.

If we ever come back to Uganda we will definitely book again with Home to Africa and possibly Derrick as guide :)
Thank you!
