Very friendly and reliable, ensures an unforgettable experience.
The 5 day mid-range safari is an adventure you will never forget!
All destinations are worth a visit, and the locations of the lodges and the lodges themselves are also so beautiful.
Thanks Emanuel and team for arranging this great safari!

Amazing staff and very accommodating! Totally exceeded expectations for the price!!!
Our chef (Emmanuel) and tour guide (Samuel) were awesome. Food was superb (AMAZING veggie options) and they both really made us feel like we were part of a family. The director of the company also was in great communication with us which allowed us to feel very confident about the tour. Of course the parks itself are amazing so there's little chance that you would not have a good time. Highly recommend booking with this company especially if you are on a budget!

Emanuel curated my trip of a lifetime!!
I loved my 5 day Safari with Crater Explorer! I traveled solo and was added with other people to form a group. I had the BEST groups and drivers!!
Emanuel, the owner, was easy to work with and went above and beyond in customer care. He wants everyone to have the best experience and it was evident in his prior communication and personal interactions face to face. Plus, the curating of an exciting adventure.
This adventure was nothing short of extraordinary. My journey took me through Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti National Park (for two days), the Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara, each offering a unique and awe-inspiring experience.
Tarangire was a favorite because it was the first wild animals I saw and they took my breath away. I was so moved I got teary-eyed.
The Serengeti is massive in size! Extremely bumpy with washboard roads and bumps...kinda fun and numbing! Lol. The diversity of animals was exciting to see! The TV program, "Wild Kingdom" was coming to life! I saw hippos and crocodiles here where I hadn't yet seen yet.
The Ngorongoro Crater was another highlight of my trip. The crater’s breathtaking views and the rich wildlife within its walls made it feel like I had stepped into a natural paradise. I saw an abundance of wildebeests and zebras numbering in the thousands!! The crater’s unique ecosystem is something everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.
My safari concluded at Lake Manyara, which offered a completely different environment. The lush greenery and the tranquil lake provided a perfect backdrop for birdwatching. Home to 400 elephants made it an intimate experience.
Throughout my journey, the accommodations were comfortable and exceeded my expectations. Each lodge and camp was well-appointed, offering a blend of luxury and authenticity. The service was top-notch, with staff members who were not only friendly and welcoming but also incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife and local culture. Their passion and enthusiasm added a special touch to my experience.
This safari was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that left me with unforgettable memories. The combination of diverse landscapes, abundant wildlife, and exceptional service made it an adventure I'll cherish forever. I highly recommend this safari to anyone looking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and wonders of Tanzania.
Thank you, Crater Explorer!!

Our Tanzania experience wouldn’t have ever been complete without a safari. Thanks to Crater Explorer and our dear guide Samuel, we had an unforgettably beautiful 4-day trip. We had a blast. Asante sana for your kindness, warm heart, smiles and passion for animals! Also a big thanks for the cook for cooking nice meals! We will never forget this and the black rhino and whole group of lions and cubs was beyond our dreams and we were so lucky to be able to see them! thanks SO much for everything guys!🙏🏻

Helpful, kind, always available!
Organising the tour through Crater was super easy. Emanuel was very present and communicative even before we arrived.
He arranged pick up from the airport and a hotel for the night before the safari.
We did the 6 day tour which included Ngorongoro crater, Serengeti National Park, Manyara Lake and Tanrangire National Park . What an experience. Our driver knew where to go to get the best views of the animals, plus we had a bit of luck on our side.
Camping we stayed at during the tour was organized, and people always kind!
So... Hakuna Matata, with Emanuel worth.

Hard but Great Experience
I participated in a 3-night, 4-day tour in August. I wanted to travel to Serengeti and Ngorongoro, so I requested quotes from over 10 companies and chose this one as the most affordable option.
We visited Serengeti on the first and second days, Ngorongoro on the third day, and Tarangire on the final day. We were fortunate to see all of the Big Five animals, and we were able to capture moments of lions and elephants passing right in front of our vehicle.
Our dedicated chef prepared our meals. In the morning, we had light snacks and could make our favorite drinks with hot water from a thermos. At lunchtime, the chef packed the meals in a cooler box for us to bring along, and we enjoyed warm dishes in the evening. Everything was delicious.
For the tour transportation, they offered us complimentary transfers from the hotel in Arusha where we stayed the night before, to the hotel near Kilimanjaro Airport where we were supposed to stop after the tour. We had already booked hotels for before and after the tour, but it seems they have partner hotels and can arrange accommodations for the pre- and post-stays at a discounted or even free rate.
Thank you for the wonderful experience.
They provided plenty of bottled water, so there was no need to worry.
For those considering a similar tour in the future, here are some tips:
1. Showers may not have hot water and the availability may be limited. It's advisable to bring body wipes, and remember to bring your own towel. However, there might not be a place to dry them.
2. There were toilets without toilet paper, so it's good to bring your own.
3. Camping in tents for the entire trip can be physically challenging. Upgrading for some nights might be a good option.
4. Be cautious of dust as you may encounter a lot of it throughout the trip. Pay attention to your backpack and clothing.
5. Nights in Serengeti and Ngorongoro can be cold, so you will need a long-sleeve shirt, sweater, and a light coat.
6. Since there is no electricity in the tents, having a flashlight can be helpful. One that can be hung inside the tent will be useful.
7. Traveling on gravel roads may cause motion sickness. It's good to have motion sickness tablets. We also used insect repellent, cold medicine, and anti-diarrheal medication.
8. You may feel unwell from sunburn, so apply sunscreen. It's good to have a hat and sunglasses.
9. The customary tip for the chef and guide is $10 per person per day, so factor that into the estimated cost.

Great value for money and extremely helpful
Organising the tour through Crater was super easy. Emanuel was very communicative and easy to deal with before we arrived.
They arranged pick up from the airport and a hotel on either side of the tour, which took all the hassle out of travel.
We did the 3 day tour which included Ngorongoro crater, manyara lake and tanrangire national park. What an experience. Our driver knew where to go to get the best views of the animals, plus we had a bit of luck on our side.
The hotel we stayed at during the tour was amazing, really luxurious. A special treat overlooking the lake.
My kids and I had the best experience, once in a lifetime. Crater were brilliant value for money, starting out as an organisation and tried hard to ensure we enjoyed every minute. Relaxed and easy going too, which was a bonus.
