Memorable Weekend in Mikumi National Park
I booked the 2-day Mikumi NP and Bush Walking tour with Kihindo Safaris as I wanted to make the most out of the short time I had available. The Kihindo team took good care of me from beginning to end. I was picked up directly at the airport and brought to the Dar es Salaam train station from where (only since a couple of months ago) a comfortable direct train brings you to Morogoro. From there my guide Saloniki picked me up and we went straight to Mikumi National Park. First day included the "game drive" where we saw a great variety of animals like elephants, giraffes and lions. Saloniki and his partner Jaxon were very knowledgeable and you could ask them anything. The Camp Bastian where you stay overnight is a comfortable accomodation with a relaxed atmosphere. On Day 2 during the walking safari you get to know further plants, birds as well as the Maasai culture - our Maasai guide Melemi was very kind and knowledgeable, too. The visit of a Maasai village is a great experience for everyone who wants to get to know the culture better. The whole tour ends with a visit of a farm where you can see snakes, turtles and crocodiles. Afterwards I was brought back to Morogoro where we had a final lunch before the train ride back to Dar.
All in all, the two days are filled with exciting program points and I can recommend the tour to anyone looking for a 2-day package that does not only include "game drives" but also a bit of hiking/exploring and getting to know the Maasai culture.
I can recommend the tour also for solo travellers as your guide (in my case: Saloniki) stays with you during the two days, takes care of all organisational matters and is available for any questions that might appear.

Great
I was very happy with the tour. I had a very limited time and I had to find a tour for two days on the weekend, going on Saturday morning and returning on Sunday evening. I contacted many companies but Kihindo tours was the one I felt the most comfortable thanks to its professionalism. As I am a solo female traveler, I was a bit stressed and I was not sure if safari was a good idea or not. But I am glad I did it! Winnie and the whole tour team took very good care of me from the moment I was picked up from the hotel to the moment I was dropped off. Although people normally had one guide, I had two guides. Salonike and Jonathan were both very good guides (Jonathan actually was the driver but he was also super knowledgeable) and very nice people. We did game driving both in the morning and evening, both were incredible experiences. I recommend both the tour and mikumi park if you have a limited time and cannot go to the Serengeti.

Perfect Communication, Tour Guide, Accommodations, and Parks!
Before we even left Germany, we were in frequent contact with Winnie to organize our safari. She responded incredibly quickly and attentively – we've never experienced this level of service before! Even during the trip, she made sure everything was running smoothly and that we were happy.
Our guide, Michael, was an absolute highlight! We’d describe him as a walking Wikipedia of nature, wildlife, and Tanzanian culture, all combined with a fantastic sense of humor. Whether on safari or engaging in fun and insightful conversations over lunch or dinner, we had an absolut amazing time with him!
As for the parks, we visited both Nyerere and Mikumi. They were completely different but breathtaking in their own unique ways! We highly recommend visiting both, and we were lucky enough to see lions, a leopard, elephants, and many other animals.
The accommodations were excellent! At Mloka Safari Lodge, the service and hospitality were outstanding, and at Camp Bastian, the architecture of the lodge was truly one of a kind.
We would absolutely travel with Kihindo and Michael again!

Excellence and professionalism
Thanks to the professionalism and courtesy of KIHINDO Tours and SAFARIS, my friend and I made our dream come true. Winnie proved to be extremely courteous and available from the beginning to organize our 3-day Safari and 2 at Mikumi down to the smallest details, and we couldn't have wished for anything else. Everything was perfect! A special thanks goes to our guide Micheal, a special person, extremely professional and very competent.

Amaizing Safari with a wonderful team
The organization was perfect.
For the safari, Stephan and Mickael are great guides, very kind, helpful and patient. They took great care of us and we got along very well with them. We saw all the animals thanks to them, even the most difficult to find. They know everything about animals and are very respectful.
Thanks for everything

Amazing and friendly!
We had an absolutely AMAZING! Safari day with Kihindo tours & safaris. The overall contact was so nice and every single question we had was quickly responded by Winnie. She is such a lovely person and so nice to talk with. She made us have no worries at all. The ultimate hakuna matata experience. So a special thanks to Winnie!
The safari day was absolutely amazing. We just can’t find the right words. The beautifull environment the animals live in, and the beauty of the animals themselve. Unfortunately we didn’t saw the elephants but hey; that’s nature!! We did see lions, zebras, giraffes, pumbaa, hyenas, buffels, impala’s, monkeys, krokodiles, hippo’s and even the leopard!! So cool!
Our guide did his best to still looking for the elephant but unfortunetely with no results. But that’s a good reason to maybe even come back once again hihi.
It was absolutely an amazing experience and we can not thank Kihindo tours & safaris enough! THANKYOU!

Best Safari Ever! We saw everything we had hoped to see and more.
My friend and I recently had the pleasure of going on our very first safari at Mikumi National Park, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of incredible! From the moment we were picked up from our hotel on the morning of our trip, we felt extremely welcomed by the amazing team at Kihindo Tours and Safaris. Winnie, in particular, was so kind and attentive, ensuring that we felt comfortable and safe both to and from the adventure.
Once in the park, we were lucky to have Jackson as our driver. His skill behind the wheel and deep passion for his job were truly admirable. He seemed to have a sixth sense for finding wildlife and making sure we had the best views possible. Our Maasai guide, Saloniki, added special touch to the trip. His energy and enthusiasm were absolutely infectious, making the whole experience feel even more vibrant and exciting. We had an absolute blast, and would highly recommend Kihindo Tours and Safaris to anyone considering a safari in Tanzania. Whether it's your first time or you're a seasoned traveler, you won't be disappointed!

Professional, courteous, helpful
I booked a last minute tour for Mikumi NP the day before arrival. Kihindo Tours responded promptly to my request and helped me book a one-day tour, with pick up from my hotel in Dar es Salaam. The driver was on-time, professional, and courteous an spoke English. We got tothe park at whcih point the in-park driver / guide took over and was similarly excellent. Hihglights of the animals I saw included elephants, baboons, zebra, giraffe, hippos, and a lion. I highly recommend this operator, I enjoyed the excursion greatly.

WE WILL NEVER FORGET
The two days in Mikumi were really special, Winnie from kihindo tours always informed us with such affection that we did not hesitate to choose this company. Our driver, Michael, knows the park so well that thanks to him we were able to see lions, elephants, giraffes, antelopes, hippos... he knew perfectly where to wait patiently, without chasing us, until the animals came and passed by where we were, but the most important thing is what a good person he is, we also had the privilege of having Haissac as a Spanish translator guide, since our English is horrible, he is Masai and we learned many things with him about the park, the animals, Masai culture, Tanzanian music... He is a wonderful person. We will never forget these days with them, they made us enjoy so much that we would like other people to live this experience too. Thank you.
