Very kind and attentive to our needs.
All around an amazing experience. We didn't think we'd get to see so many animals. To our surprise we saw zebras, impalas, lions, hippos, crocodiles, wildebeast... etc and very up close to. The staff were very attentive to our needs and adapted their schedule to accommodate us. The tour guide gave us a lot information about the animals, cracked jokes with us and made the trip both knowledgeable and enjoyable. The price of the Safari was cheap compared to other big parks and the experience was unforgettable. We highly recommend booking this trip with Kihindo Tours, none of this would've been possible without Winnies help, who was available at all times to make this dream come true. Thank you !!!!!

Perfectly organized Safari
Our safari in Mikumi National Park was incredible! From the perfectly organized transfer from Dar es Salaam to the friendly, professional team, every detail was handled flawlessly. The safari itself exceeded all expectations—we saw elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, monkeys, crocodiles, and more! Our guide's knowledge made the experience even richer. I highly recommend this tour for anyone seeking an unforgettable wildlife adventure in Tanzania.

polite, caring, friendly and knowledgeable.
Everything was great from the first moment we reached you to the last moment the tour ended. It was an incredibly caring, young and energetic team. Thank you to each and every one of you, Winnie, Peter and Danford. The hotel we stayed in, the activities, and the transfers all went better than we planned. All our fears were unfounded. Good thing kihindo♥️

The Best and Highly recommended
To the best Safari Tour In Tanzania. I had an amazing experience from coordination of Winnie and to my guides in the Safari. My guide Saloniki is the best always greet and responds with “Hakuna Matata” and a smile. Very knowlegeable and friendly along with our driver at the Safari Jackson. I highly recommend this tour. You will see all the animals you want and just tell them. The buffet was also great.

Very competent, knowledgeable and kind!
We had the most amazing day with Kihindo Safaris in Mikumi National Park!! The communication was great with Winnie beforehand as she organised everything for us. They picked us up straight from our accommodation which was so easy and convenient! The train ride was also very smooth, but do remember to NOT bring any snacks or water with you, as they are not allowed on the train to Morogoro.
We were then picked up by our guide for the day, Saloniki, by the train station. The drive was only about 1h50 to the park. When we got there we met our driver Jackson and started our game drive through the park. We got very lucky with all the animals that day, and part of that is because of both Saloniki and Jackson being amazing guides for us!
Water, lunch (with soda) is included which was super nice.
Couldn’t recommend more!!

Kihindo safaris: Unbeatable
My husband and I just went on a 5-day safari with Kihindo Safari, on the Mikumi & Ruaha tour. I have no words to describe the experience. First of all, the face of the company Winnie. From the first contact you make with her, she will always answer you instantly, always recommending the best for you and always attentive to what you need. Then, speaking of the safari, I can only continue to express how well this company has everything organized. Our guide William would not have been the same for us without him, always attentive to what we needed at every moment. He has been part of our trip, talking during the hours of driving, looking for all the animals for us, teaching me with my Swahili classes and teaching us many things about the animals and the culture of the country; we will always carry him in our memory of this trip. Inocent was our support guide in Ruaha, I can't think of anyone who knows more about that park than him, a wonderful guide too, who tried to connect with us at all times. I only have good words for all of them. I will definitely return and return to kihindo safaris 🩵🩵

An unforgettable experience
We recently went on a 5 day Safari excursion to Mikumi and Ruaha in Tanzania with Kihindo Tours & Safaris. We can confidently say this was the most surreal and exhilarating experiences of our lives. The organisation was seamless; Winnie was extremely helpful as she was the main point of contact even prior to our arrival.
The Experience: Our adventure began from the moment we were picked up by our guide, William from our hotel in Dar Es Salaam in the morning and went on a 5-hour drive to Mikumi. We found the drive insightful as you get to see different parts of Tanzania and its rich culture. The Jeep itself was very comfortable and spacious, we had plenty of water to drink in the car and stopped half way on our journey for a delicious lunch (buffet style). We arrived in Mikumi in the afternoon and headed straight to the national park where we saw various animals such as lions, zebras, giraffes, elephants and antelopes! William was very knowledgable and very passionate about wildlife and welcomed our curious questions.
We proceeded to Ruaha Hilltop Lodge the next day following an early morning drive around Mikumi National Park. We spent the whole of the next day in Ruaha National Park; this was by far our favourite experience as the park itself is one of the largest in the country. Our favourite part was that it felt completely untouched and less touristy. We would drive around for a long period without seeing other Safari Jeeps! We were very lucky too as we saw 4 of the big 5 in what felt like the most natural habitat. Being in what felt like the only ones amongst these majestic creatures along with the owe-filled-silences observing them is a memory that will stay with us forever.
As you are looking out for the big 5, we would also recommend tuning in on the birds (there are over 500 bird species!) and we saw everything from eagles, vultures to the smallest kind with remarkable chirps. Additionally, the ecosystem is very diverse with savannahs, woodlands, river-systems and baobabs. Not only are the guides informative, they are also impressively attentive to afar animals!
Accommodation: Kihindo Tours arranged our accommodations in Mikumi (Camp Bastien Mikumi) and Ruaha (Ruaha Hilltop Lodge).
Camp Bastien was beautiful and had lovely cottage style accommodation, swimming pool and a large outdoor sitting area complete with a fire pit in the middle. It was a wonderful way to unwind following the Safaris.
Ruaha Hilltop Lodge is perched on a hilltop and offers the most breathtaking panoramic scenery of Ruaha (national park included). The lodge had spacious bungalows and we had to walk up the hill to get to ours! You are escorted to and from your accommodation by a member of staff as they are separate from the main lounge, dining area.
The lodges were beautiful, luxurious, comfortable and spacious. The staff were very kind and the food extremely delicious (all buffet style).
Final Thought: This safari felt like a journey into nature that left us in awe of the beauty and complexity of wildlife. It is at a reasonable cost (cheaper than some of the safaris we looked into) for what is offered (pick up from and to hotels/airports, Safari excursions, meals, experienced guide for the duration of your journey etc). I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to connect with the great outdoors. Pack your walking shoes, comfortable clothing (including a jumper or 2 as the mornings and evenings are slightly chilly), camera and binoculars be prepared for the most extraordinary adventure!

Memorable Weekend in Mikumi National Park
I booked the 2-day Mikumi NP and Bush Walking tour with Kihindo Safaris as I wanted to make the most out of the short time I had available. The Kihindo team took good care of me from beginning to end. I was picked up directly at the airport and brought to the Dar es Salaam train station from where (only since a couple of months ago) a comfortable direct train brings you to Morogoro. From there my guide Saloniki picked me up and we went straight to Mikumi National Park. First day included the "game drive" where we saw a great variety of animals like elephants, giraffes and lions. Saloniki and his partner Jaxon were very knowledgeable and you could ask them anything. The Camp Bastian where you stay overnight is a comfortable accomodation with a relaxed atmosphere. On Day 2 during the walking safari you get to know further plants, birds as well as the Maasai culture - our Maasai guide Melemi was very kind and knowledgeable, too. The visit of a Maasai village is a great experience for everyone who wants to get to know the culture better. The whole tour ends with a visit of a farm where you can see snakes, turtles and crocodiles. Afterwards I was brought back to Morogoro where we had a final lunch before the train ride back to Dar.
All in all, the two days are filled with exciting program points and I can recommend the tour to anyone looking for a 2-day package that does not only include "game drives" but also a bit of hiking/exploring and getting to know the Maasai culture.
I can recommend the tour also for solo travellers as your guide (in my case: Saloniki) stays with you during the two days, takes care of all organisational matters and is available for any questions that might appear.

Great
I was very happy with the tour. I had a very limited time and I had to find a tour for two days on the weekend, going on Saturday morning and returning on Sunday evening. I contacted many companies but Kihindo tours was the one I felt the most comfortable thanks to its professionalism. As I am a solo female traveler, I was a bit stressed and I was not sure if safari was a good idea or not. But I am glad I did it! Winnie and the whole tour team took very good care of me from the moment I was picked up from the hotel to the moment I was dropped off. Although people normally had one guide, I had two guides. Salonike and Jonathan were both very good guides (Jonathan actually was the driver but he was also super knowledgeable) and very nice people. We did game driving both in the morning and evening, both were incredible experiences. I recommend both the tour and mikumi park if you have a limited time and cannot go to the Serengeti.
