Trustworthy, committed and reliable tour operator
We've climbed in October 2024 with Zanzi trekking and safari's in Arusha. The crew is very committed to get you to the top. Everything is in done in order so that you'll make it, that made us a bit emotional at the end of the trip as well (in a positive way). The guides George and Lazaro are experienced guides, who behave professionally. We would easily trust our lives to them again.
Don't forget to ask/request a packing list beforehand, if they haven't sent it to you yet when you booked a trekking.

Excellent Tour Operator
We had a great experience at mount meru. Everything was well organized and we were picked up on time. We had a short briefing the day before the tour and a short talk after the tour in our Hotel. During the tour we had a really good service starting from hot water to wash our bodies after a long hike and ending with the hot tea at the top of mount meru. In addition the food was excellent and more than enough. Most of the people working as porters, guides and cooks are men but in our team we had a female cook which is really cool to see. We would book again any trekking tour with zanzi trekking.

An awesome trip to Mt Meru
The morning before our hike we met with the team to check that we had all the essential hiking equipment. And we needed some items which were arranged for us at a fair price.
Overall climbing Mt Meru with Zanzi trekking was a great trip!! We had an excellent team assisting us, including our guide, delicious food, porters assisting to carry our stuff. The price was very reasonable.
We want to thank the team for their hospitality in helping us reach the summit!

Very well organised
We booked a seven day budget tour from Arusha. We were contacted a few days before and then met up with a tour company member the day before at our hotel. He gave us a full briefing, took the balance of the your cost on a credit card payment and arranged to keep most of our luggage while we were on tour which was very helpful.
Our tour guide was excellent and worked very hard to give us a great experience. The cook was also very nice. The meals were quite tasty if repetitive. The sleeping accommodation was okay though some of the sleeping bags were smelly- glad I brought my own sleeping sheet.
We saw lots of animals and different habitats and the guide was able to answer the trickiest questions.
On arrival back at Arusha the was a bit of a mix up with being dropped at our hotel but that was sorted out.
Overall I thought it was very professionally organised and good value with a helpful debrief at the end.
After that we did a four day tour in Kenya with another company and the difference in organisation was quite marked - it was quite chaotic.

Dream trip
Both the Safari in Tanzania and the Safari Blue in Zanzibar were amazing, the staff is fabulous.
Everyone was very friendly and attentive, I would like to highlight Honest's organization, Ludovic as the Safari guide who was always concerned about our safety and well-being, and Abdu's friendliness as the driver in Zanzibar.
Everyone was very punctual.

Safari, Zanzibar and unforgettable moments
Our experience in Tanzania was incredible, the Safari and the days in Zanzibar.
On the Safari we were lucky enough to see the migration of zebras, buffaloes and elephants, as well as seeing many other animals in the 4 parks we visited, moments that we will never forget, after all the lion was one of those animals.
In Zanzibar, in addition to getting to know the local culture, we did the Blue Safari and relaxed on a quiet beach, with a so beautiful sunset.
All the moments organized by Zanzi Trekking and Safaris Limited, which exceeded our expectations, due to the care and preparation of the schedule for the 10 days we spent in Tanzania.

An Unforgettable Solo Adventure with Zanzi Trekking & Safari!
I had the time of my life with Zanzi Trekking and Safari! Traveling solo, I thought I’d be talking to giraffes for company, but the team made sure my trip was personalized, fun, and truly unforgettable. From start to finish, they were professional, friendly, and incredibly welcoming. They somehow managed to make me feel like part of their family while giving me the space to enjoy the adventure on my own terms.
Huge thanks to Honest, the incredible drivers, the knowledgeable guides, the amazing chefs, and Kennedy in Zanzibar for making this trip beyond special. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure I had the best experience possible.
If you’re planning a trip to Tanzania, look no further—Zanzi Trekking and Safari is the team you want by your side.

7 Day Safari - Mid Range Option
I had a great experience booking through Honest (the owner) for the 7 day safari! I was between the budget and mid range option and chose mid-range. After seeing friends participate in the budget option, the mosquitos were not bad and with wet wipes for bathing would have been doable. That being said I was VERY happy to have a bed at the end of the day, a private warm shower, and most accomodations seemed more on the luxury side!
Highly recommend the two nights in serengheti, also our tour guide Abu was fantastic and often avoided the large crowds which allowed us to have more intimate animal experiences.
We did have one hiccup checking into one of the parks, but was alhandled by Honest and Abu with some wait time.
Some tips for those about to join: $10 a day for the guide and $5 a day for the chef is the expected tips.
I waited last minute to book in person, but it was a scramble to find a group I could join. If booking midrange or luxury, booking ahead of time is definitely the way to go! Honest also met with me before and after for drinks and felt like a friend the whole time. Highly recommend!

Incredible adventure and very nice hospitality from Honest
I would like to give Honest a well-deserved 5 stars for his kindness and effort, but I can only rate the company 4 stars overall. Our trip wasn’t entirely smooth, especially during the Kenya part of our holiday, where we encountered several issues. We had to make many calls to solve the problems, which I wish could have been better managed, especially with the third-party company in Kenya.
Since the main company is based in Tanzania, our safari experience there was more smooth, but we still faced some challenges. For instance, the driver dropped us off at the wrong campsite instead of the one we had booked. Thankfully, Honest stepped in to solve the issue, transferred us to the correct campsite, and even ordered beers to apologize – a very thoughtful gesture.
Overall, we were happy with our trip and had an incredible time in both Kenya and Africa. I just wish the process had been a little more organized to avoid these stressful moments.
I highly recommend this adventure; it’s an experience you don’t want to miss.

Flexible, conforting, attentive, they made my experience unique. 100% recommendable.
I booked activities in Zanzibar, a 10 safari in Kenia and Tanzania and lemosho route hike to Kilimanjaro with Honest and zanzi trekking safari. They are based in Arusha, so the stronger points where in my opinion Safari and Kilimanjaro experienced which is managed by them directly. In Zanzibar and Kenia we had other agencies/people involved, this did not influence the experience is merely informative.
About Zanzibar, we got a guide assigned to us that accompanied us during the trip and welcomed us as we arrived to Zanzibar. We got a walk around stonetown and experienced other activities like blue safari, Nakupenda and Spice tour. I specially enjoyed spice tour. During the trip Honest was constantly in contact with us checking on us, this gave a feeling that I specially recommend anyone coming to this country for the first time.
We continued with Safari, we kicked it off from Arusha, where we first met Honest. My entirr experience in this country was unique and perfect thanks to his dedication, no buts, thank you honest and team. After we met him, we launched the safari were we got mixed with other people in a car as usual. The overall experience in the budget safari was very good, what refers to the agency I had a couple comments during pur trip like extra sleeping bags or itinerary changes that where handled on the spot, fantastic customer service.
Lastly, for the kilimanjaro trip, Honest came to greet us on the airport directly, again after a briefing of the trip we kicked it off with Justin. I can say that the kilimanjaro guide was very professional, Justin was a great spedition leader, very experienced and calm. At the end we had some extra costs that he took over as a commercial gesture, that we appreciated inmensely, again making our trip stress free and honoring Honest name.
Only good words, no buts.
