Bayette Lodge Shamwari
Janine Olivier arranged a fabulous Safari including flights from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth and transportation to Shamwari Bayette Lodge.
The lodge and the game drives were first class.
This was a trip of a lifetime that I was able to experience with my daughter.
Well, done

Experience of a Lifetime
From start to finish, our experience with booking through Gems of Africa was easy and pleasant, and the safari itself at Mount Eco was breathtaking.
First, booking was made easy by the quick communication and ready responses to all our pre-booking questions. I had put out questions to three different operators, but Gems of Africa was the most responsive and offered a good range of options. Janien made the booking and payment process easy. Transfers to and from the hotel were arranged - with a very pleasant and cheerful driver - and we were offered free vouchers for the Hop on/off bus in Cape Town. Our driver also handed us a little boss of chocolates from the company with 2 cute beaded keychains. Mount Eco was one of the more expensive options, but it was worth every penny spent! There are 7 lodge cabins so a maximum of 14 guests at any time, so the service is personal. The cabins were magnificent, with many handcarved elements, peaked roofs and I can't to justice to the bathroom in words. All cabins were private so you couldn't see each other, and all had little paths leading to a main path the guided you to the magnificent main lodge. All meals were included and were delicious, and the staff were all so lovely and helpful. There were 2 drives per day and the option for a bushwalk. Our driver Charles was so knowledgeable and relaxed. The drives themselves were over rough terrain but made as luxurious as possible with blankets, hot water bottles, and lined ponchos in case of rain! We also stopped for coffee and muffins on morning drives and drinks and snacks on evening drives. And the animals: giraffes, elephants, lions, rhinos, water Buffalo, springboks, eland, and other antelope species. All in a huge conservation area that was beautiful in its own right. This lodge is off the grid, operating entirely on solar power, and some of the higher costs go towards the conservation efforts. I can't say enough good things about our experience. You must go, if you are thinking about it at all; you will not regret it.

A good safari agency
My wife and I were booked into the Kapama River Lodge by Gems of Africa. The lodge, its facilities and safaris were excellent.
As an agency, we had a problem with a flight that needed to be changed. After a few tos and fros, Gems solved the problem to my satisfaction, but I believe they could have solved it sooner.

Perfect Organization !
Everything was great! Both the booking process itself and the experience itself was amazing. Very responsive, great value for money, the accommodation was cozy, clean, the food was amazing, the people were friendly and the game drives absolutely stunning. We’ve seen all Big5. Everything was very well organized and felt absolutely save!

A remarkable first rate experience that I will treasure always
The inverdoorn game reserve safari was exquisite. My ambassador bungalow was excellent. I really felt pampered and was able to unwind and take in all the glory of the safari and surroundings.

grab ride
I liked the organization; very well programmed and one is adequately informed
The car ride through nature was very nice, we saw elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, lions, monkeys, zebras, antelopes, hippos and giraffes
The cost/benefit ratio is very good. I recommend the one day tour.

An amazing experience
From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. The team accommodated an error on my part, going above and beyond. The guides and experience leads were amazing.
We did the E-Bike, Cheetah experience and the Horse riding, as well as the game drives.
The food was great and plentiful.
The game drive was comfortable and had an intimate feel to it.
I would highly recommend them.
