The best New Year's trip
We were looking for a suitable tour operator to organise our safari and finally decided on Ways of Africa Travel. We have not regretted our choice! We chose a private tour with visits to Ambosela, Nakuru and the Masai Mara. All the details were discussed with Paul by email and as a result we got a customised tour. We are very grateful for the opportunity to pay for part of the tour in cash as it is difficult to transfer e-money out of our country at the moment. We started our journey from the hotel on the morning of the 1st of January and ended it at the airport in Nairobi on the 6th of January.
Our driver and guide was Frank, he is a true professional. He didn't just drive us around the parks, he answered all our questions about the animals and the culture of Kenya. During our tour we spontaneously decided to visit Lake Naivasha and Frank organised this without any problems.
The car was very comfortable and suitable for the safari, especially as we were travelling alone with my partner. We had an amazing time and saw many animals. We were particularly impressed by the herds of elephants grazing in Amboseli Park. Incredibly beautiful, majestic and wise animals!
I would also like to mention the camps we stayed in. We were pleasantly surprised that the camps were more like full hotels with buffets, pools and bars than tented camps. We particularly liked the camp next to Amboseli Park - Sentrim Amboseli Lodge, which is also home to many beautiful birds and a few dik-diks. Maili Saba Camp - is a long way from Nakuru, so we had to get up very early before the game drives, but the camp itself was very peaceful and the service was first class. Fisi Camp - was the simplest of all the camps we stayed at, nevertheless it was lovely to sit on the veranda at sunset and look out over the Masai Mara Park and see the giraffes and gnus walking around.
This trip was an unforgettable experience!

Wonderful experience of Africa and it’s beautiful. We created unforgivable memories!
We had amazing safari experience with very professional driver Paul who told us lots about Africa and animals and was wonderful company for our 6 days of safari.
I had a dream to photograph and see all Africa and African animals and my dream came true. Paul made sure we got as close to the animals as possible, so I have perfect shots of all big five and ugly five.
Our accommodations were lovely with a beautiful views of Africa 🇰🇪
We enjoyed all 6 days and we are taking home all the lovely memories of the nature, animals and friendly people. We would definitely recommend to everybody to experience the same.
Thank you for making our holiday so special.

A perfect experience from planning to the end - highly recommended to plan your trip to Kenya!
We have decided quite late to visit Kenya during the festive period and we have contacted Ways of Africa Travel to help us. We did not regret it!
Paul was super efficient to provide us with an itinerary based on our initial request. After a few adjustments (e.g. we requested a specific lodge in Maasai Mara based on reviews we had read), we received the itinerary that we wanted and we confirmed it.
We got all the information we needed to get ready for the trip and we were in regular communication with Paul over WhatsApp for any questions.
We arrived in Nairobi the day before the programme started. We met with Paul and the team for breakfast and from that moment, it has been one of our best (if not the best) travel experience (and we travel a lot as a family).
Paul gave us the final briefing and introduced us to Collins (from the Maasai tribe) who was going to be our guide. From that moment, it has been an unforgettable experience.
We left Nairobi to Lake Naivasha, further on to Lake Nakuru to end our short trip in Maasai Mara. We followed the programme agreed with Paul, with the flexibility that Collins provided. Collins has been instrumental in making this trip from great to amazing, with his knowledge of the country and the local culture, his positive and friendly attitude, his ability to connect with our kids (8 and 4 years old) and entertain them and of course his ability to answer the millions of questions we had about the country, the people, the wildlife and the culture.
In this short trip, we managed to see the Big Five and the Ugly Five, a bit of luck of course but also thanks to Collins expertise and knowledge (finding the leopard hidden in a hole in a high grass area was a unique achievement!!!)
It would take many pages to describe how amazing this trip was. The summary is probably that, as world travellers, we have gone through a lot (good and bad!) and this trip with Ways of Africa Travel is definitely one of the best!!!
So we can highly recommend Paul and the team for your next travel - you will not be disappointed!

Ways of Africa are exceptional and connected safari guide experts who will create a dream experience
Amazing experience with Ways of Africa from start to finish! I had been planning my family trip for about 8-6 months in advance. Paul and Janet were fantastic communicators who always responded promptly, made adjustments to our dates as needed, and created the most amazing itinerary for our 4-nights/5-day tour.
We were lucky enough to have two guides at different parts of our trip - Colin and James were knowledgeable, informative, friendly, and well-versed as exceptional Safari guides.
Our trip started at the beautiful Lake Nakuru Lodge, then we headed to Masai Mara and stayed at the most luxurious game camp - Sarova Mara - just wow!! And ended our trip at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort.
We were blessed to see four of the Big Five, really just an excuse now to go back and do a longer trip!
We can’t thank Paul, Janet and the rest of the Ways of Africa team enough for providing me and my family an experience of a lifetime. We are forever grateful for their hard work, attention to detail, and true Kenyan hospitality! A big big asante sana from the Saha-Jarvis family.

The Mara changes you forever
We decided for a December trip and contacted ways of Africa somewhere in early November. Right from the start, Paul’s professionalism stood apart from the several companies we had contacted. He was prompt, straightforward and clear about what our budget, requirements and length of stay was and was able to help create the best itinerary tailored to our needs. I really appreciated him not fluffing up details and he was direct and polite with his communications via WhatsApp
We had both a late arrival and departure to and from Nairobi airport and he arranged pick up and drop off. He arranged the most amazing accommodation for us at Mara bush camp which was by far one of the best places I have stayed at and I will hold memories from there very close to my heart.
No review on ways of Africa is complete without mentioning the phenomenal experience we had gaming with our driver/ guide Dennis. Dennis is funny , friendly and we had a great time with him at Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru. He is extremely skilled at what he does and despite rains and muddy roads, he was able to navigate paths and drive us very close to wildlife viewing. He is great at communicating with other guides and anticipating the course/ trajectory of the animals and we were oftentimes amongst the first few to be right next to the lions, cheetah, elephants and giraffes. Within 4 days of gaming, we were able to see all of the big 5 as well as a multitude of several other wildlife! We were even able to see an attempted hunt between a pride of lions and a warthog. He is a proud Masai and truly passionate about the animals and we learnt a ton not only about the birds and animals, but also about the Masai tribe and Kenya in general. He is also a talented photographer and helped us capture beautiful images of the wildlife.
Overall, this trip will remain etched in our memories forever all thanks to Ways of Africa and Dennis and if and when we do come back again, I have no hesitation to avail there services again

A Wonderful Safari in Kenya Made Excptional by Collins - an Outstanding Guide
Our recent safari in Kenya through Ways of Travel was a memorable experience, filled with breathtaking landscapes, incredible wildlife, and the warm hospitality the country is known for. The itinerary was well-planned, offering various game drives, cultural experiences, time in a Massai village, and brief periods of relaxation (sleep) in the lodges. HOWEVER, WHAT TRULY ELEVATED OUR TRIP FROM GOOD TO EXCEPTIONAL WAS COLLINS, OUR SAFARI GUIDE!
When we met Collins, it was clear that he was knowledgeable and deeply passionate about Kenya's wildlife and ecosystems. His ability to spot animals from seemingly impossible distances was magical. Whether tracking elusive cheetahs, positioning us perfectly to witness a lion pride's hunt, or patiently explaining the intricate behaviors of a herd of elephants, he made every moment in the bush come alive.
Beyond his expertise, our guide had a warm and engaging personality. He went out of his way to ensure that everyone in the group felt included and comfortable, tailoring the experience to meet individual interests. His storytelling, peppered with humor and fascinating anecdotes, made even the longer drives enjoyable. As a member of the Massai tribe, he brought an intimate, first-hand understanding of life in Kenya and its beauty and struggles. Collins also had an incredible knack for positioning the Land Cruiser optimally to capture photographs from the optimal angles and lighting, helping us capture those once-in-a-lifetime moments perfectly.
While not luxurious, the accommodations were comfortable and well-situated, allowing us to immerse ourselves in Kenya's natural beauty. The meals were fresh and delicious, and the staff at each lodge was attentive and friendly. While a few minor logistical hiccups occurred, they were quickly overshadowed by the overall quality of the experience.
In summary, this safari was a fantastic adventure, and we owe much of that to Collins, our exceptional guide. If you're planning a trip to Kenya, I highly recommend prioritizing a knowledgeable and experienced guide – it makes all the difference. This trip was more than just a vacation; it was a profound and enriching journey into the heart of Africa.
Would we do it again? Absolutely – especially if we could have Collins leading the way! Thank You!

Incredible honeymoon experience
We booked our Honeymoon through Ways of Africa travel. I seriously cannot recommend this company enough. Paul was fantastic through the planning phase, helping choose the correct hotels for us and planning our trip for the best experience in the time we had.
When we landed we were picked up and taken straight to our hotel in Nairobi for the night. The next morning we were introduced to Dan, our driver for the whole experience, who was nothing less than fantastic. His local knowledge of the area and contacts/friends he had with the tribesman made for an unreal experience. Dan somehow knew where all the animals would be in Maasai Mara, and we were lucky enough to see basically every animal there is to see there.
The hotels booked for us were also perfect, the rooms were huge and comfortable (with incredible views), the food was fantastic and the staff couldn't be friendlier!
I simply cannot recommend this company enough. I genuinely believe we were the envy of all the other tours out there :)

Just perfect!
We just finished our 4 days trip to Samburu and Meru with Ways of Africa.
We can just recommend Ways of Africa to everyone.
It was just perfect from the beginning: very professional, transparent communication.
The tour itself was perfectly organised, too. Everything went on time, they chose very nice hotels.
Our drivers did not become tired at all trying to find another animal after another.
So to all, if you look after an unforgettable experience: Book with Ways of Africa!
