the best trip of my life
5/5

It has been an incredible experience, we saw a lot of animals and our guide had a lot of knowledge about the area and the animals and was giving us a lot of super interesting information, plus he knew how to find the animals super fast! The food was also delicious and the people were all lovely with us and always made our trip super easy. The tents were very comfortable and the organizer (Eli) is the best!

Great Experience and trusted tour operator
5/5

Dear people, what we have experienced in the last 4 days was so fantastic that I can't really describe it with my simple rhetorical options. My wife and I decided on a camping safari at short notice and flew from Zanzibar to Arusha. We just wanted to see what's going on with safaris in the short term. The reception at our Venice Hotel referred us to Cubs Expeditions. Ellie was the name of our contact. A very reliable, sincere and helpful young man who managed to send us on our dream tour the next day (Camping Safari 4 days Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater for under €700). Our tour was breathtaking, we saw much more than we could actually process. And camping in the wilderness is definitely worth an experience, with hyenas and jackals all around us. But we never felt unsafe because we had our guide and driver Stanley at our side, who navigated us safely through the wilderness at all times and tracked down all the wild animals that could be seen for us. Great class. Gidion, our cook, took care of our physical well-being. What the man conjured up using simple means from a larger camping stove was top notch. Simple and very tasty. All in all, the two looked after our group perfectly for 4 days and made our safari an unforgettable experience. Thanks to you and thanks to Ellie and Cubs Expeditions 6 out of 5 stars

extraordinary, it cant be described with only words
5/5

This was an extraordinary experience, especially with our guide Godfrey. We saw and learned so much with him as our guide. If we ever go on another safari in the future, we would love to have Godfrey as our guide again. This experience went above our expectations and cannot be described in words. If anyone has the opportunity to go on a safari, I would highly recommend it. Our group was so much fun, too!

Unforgettable Safari Experience
5/5

My wife and I had an unforgettable 2-day safari to Tarangire and Ngorongoro on a shared tour! From the moment we landed in Arusha, Eli made us feel so welcome and taken care of. He was there every step of the way, making sure everything went smoothly – from the pick-up to the drop-off.

The safari itself was absolutely incredible. Seeing the elephants in Tarangire and experiencing the breathtaking views of Ngorongoro Crater was like a dream come true.

What really stood out to me was how organized and professional everything was while still feeling so personal. It didn’t feel rushed or like we were just another booking, it felt like they genuinely cared about making our experience special.

If you’re planning a safari, don’t even think twice about booking with them. They made this trip one of the best experiences of our lives!

Perfect ride through Tanzanian parks with best guide and his sharp eye for group of biologists
5/5

Best value for money we found in 2024. Easy communication, perfect service above our expectations. We had a problem leaving Kili airport, but the driver from Cubs went back and helped us with the issue. Well planned safari especially for us as we were a group of biologists, lots of info and storytelling. We were always first near every animal, as our guide and driver had a sharp eye and good knowledge of savannah.

Unforgettable experience between Safari and Kilimanjaro
5/5

We spent four days on a tented safari with a group, followed by five days on the Marangu Route for our ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro. What can I say? It was an experience that completely captivated us - not only because of the breathtaking scenery, but more importantly, because of the deep bond we formed with our guides, William, David, and Alex, as well as the porters. We arrived as clients and left as friends.
The adventure was intense and, naturally, quite spartan, but those who opt for experiences like these know exactly what to expect. The food was surprisingly good, even for us vegetarians, and the team was always highly professional, responding quickly and attentively to all our needs.
In terms of value for money, we feel confident saying it’s unbeatable, especially considering the market prices. One aspect worth mentioning is tipping: after spending so many days with the team and witnessing firsthand their daily reality, we realized that no amount of tipping would ever feel enough. Tipping is a crucial part of their income and is essential to showing appreciation for their hard work.
Ultimately, this is an experience that will stay in our hearts forever. An adventure that goes beyond a simple vacation, a journey that changes you and binds you to places and people in a profound way.

#1 tour guide operator out of them all - price, people, experience & transparency ✨️
5/5

I cant reckon Humphrey and his amazing team (shout out to Eli) enough. Humphrey is so responsive, organised & available to answer ANY & ALL of your questions. He was able to help us change accommodation to suit our budget (we camped 1 night and lodged 2 nights) and he organised our transport from Arusha Tanzania back to nairobi Kenya.

The tour itself - i don't know where to begin. Our guides were amazing, Saleh & Robert were experts in finding the most elusive animals - we got to see the big 5 and more!!! Two different leopard sitings, three cheetah brothers + a mum & her two cubs cheetahs, lionesses with their 8 cubs after a kill, rhinos in the ngoro crater. It was honestly one of the best experiences we have had - the guides were great, friendly, we laughed alot & we learnt alot. There was no silly question.
The food cooked by Ghadia was amazing, some local Tanzanian curry's plus stewed veggies and rice, then some pizza, chicken, soups and always the best breakfast.

Our itinerary was (fully organised by Humphrey):
- 1st night in Arusha Hotel
- drive to & enter Tarangire National Park (freaking awesome for elephants & Giraffes)
- stayed locally that night
- enter the Serengetti!
- stayed INSIDE the Serengeti in a lodge and was scary & exciting - heard lions roar and hyenas calling to each other. They come up to your lodging!! But they have Masai guarding the camp. This was something else - we were recommended to this and im glad we did, but it was scary listening to that all night even though you are 100% safe.
- game drive in the morning then head to the Ngoro Crater rim
- game drive through the Ngoro crater - it feels like Jurassic Park. You go through so many different areas that range from wetlands to bush to fields. Stunning + amazing at the same time
- then back to Arusha for the night
- bus over the border back to nairobi to the airport

Only thing we would of done differently - went to Zanzibar after the tour to relax. It's a jam packed 4 days but it is worth it.

Ps a small tip: do plan to tip your tour guide 10 usd per day per person. And 5 usd per day per person for the chef. Get Tanzanian shillings out to tip other service providers through out your travels + your lodges/hotels. Example: we tipped 10k shillings to the bus bag loader as a thanks, we also tipped 10 usd to the lodge in the Serengeti for all the service workers they provided.

Far exceeded our expectations & hopes!
5/5

This is the first time I’m writing a review about something, and it’s because this experience was truly special, and Eliis (the organizer) more than deserves it. As you can probably tell, this is going to be entirely positive feedback.

We booked a day trip to the Ngorongoro Crater at a very fair price. The package included two nights at a more-than-satisfactory 3-star hotel in Arusha with half board, a super reliable airport transfer to the hotel upon arrival and back to the airport upon departure, transportation to the crater with a private guide in a Jeep, and even the park entry fees!

What really stood out to me was the simple, quick, reliable, and straightforward communication via WhatsApp, as well as Eli’s personality. He made every one of our requests possible, offered his own suggestions to make our stay even better, and did all of this with a genuine smile—you can tell he truly enjoys what he does. It’s worth mentioning that Eli took nearly two hours of his time so we could visit the famous African Art Gallery on the way.

Now, on to the safari—the main reason for our trip. Honestly, we didn’t know what to expect. Many people book safaris for several days, and we were worried that one day wouldn’t be enough. But I can now confirm—it absolutely is (at least if you, like us don’t have very specific goals but just want to have an amazing safari experience).

The crater offers an unparalleled, breathtaking atmosphere, and we were able to see almost all the iconic animals up close. Of course, this can vary from day to day, but our personal highlight was seeing lions just one meter away from our private safari Jeep.

Overall, this was an experience we’ll remember forever. As you can probably tell, Eli was the key to making it so special which is why we can wholeheartedly recommend booking any adventure through this organization!

Outstanding Safari with Cubs Expedition
5/5

Our safari with Cubs Expedition was an unforgettable experience! From start to finish, we were in excellent hands. Omari, our guide, not only navigated us safely through the breathtaking national parks but also impressed us with his extensive knowledge of the wildlife. Thanks to him, we were able to witness the fascinating animals up close and had the incredible luck of seeing the Big 5 multiple times – an absolute highlight!

After the safari, Elly took great care of us in Arusha. He was always available to assist us and organized a fascinating city tour of Arusha, as well as a trip to the stunning Kikuletwa Hotsprings – the perfect way to end our journey.

The professionalism, friendliness, and personalized service provided by the Cubs Expedition team made our trip truly exceptional. We would book with them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them to anyone planning a safari.

Thank you for this once-in-a-lifetime experience!
