Fantastic, well organized adventure
Our wonderful 10 day adventure was put together and expertly managed by Rodah. Everything from our pick up in Nairobi to Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater, Tarangire and Amboseli was fantastic, all the better for having our engaging and knowledgable guides taking special care of us, Thank you to Samuel, Edgar and Steve. Our safari experiences were all we could have hoped for and more with safety, care and fun.

Shanjoy delivers exceptional bespoke service
We just returned from an epic 9 day (first time) Kenya trip. Our itinerary, which was meticulously crafted by the Shanjoy team, took us to Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Nakuru and Masai Mara. They were ultra responsive, available, patient, adaptable and overall lovely to deal with throughout the planning process and, since it was a last minute trip, had to contend with the added pressure of limited hotel availability. Rodah and Patrick (1) warmly greeted us at the airport, took us to our hotel in Nairobi and waited with us until we received our room key to ensure that checkin went smoothly. The next morning, we were met by our guide, Patrick (2), and the adventure began. Our land cruiser was excellent - very comfortable, huge windows, pop up roof, ample room for the three of us and stocked with snacks and beverages - and Patrick (2) was its master handler. Whether it was negotiating highway traffic, weaving around potholes or dealing with bumpy trails and challenging terrain for hours on end, Patrick (2) handled it like a boss, all while being on the lookout for wildlife. Speaking of which, Patrick (2) made it his mission to find the Big Five, which we did (a few times over)! We also had several exciting up close big cat encounters, including a couple of fresh kills. While luck undoubtedly had a role, Patrick (2)’s knowledge of the parks and animal behavior and patterns, his easygoing way of speaking with other guides (which led to information on sightings), his patience and his own genuine passion for seeing the animals set us up for these amazing moments. We enjoyed spending time with him and he was a big part of the reason our trip was such a success. We would definitely recommend specifically requesting Patrick (2) as guide when working with Shanjoy. Back at home base, Patrick (1) was busy troubleshooting when I accidentally left my phone behind, handling our mid-trip requests to make some changes to our return itinerary, taking care of us in and around Nairobi and just making sure that every moment of our trip went smoothly, all with a huge smile. Our driver Edward was very knowledgeable and polite and knew where to find the various animals.
We wanted to celebrate our sons 50th birthday and knowing his interest in animals we decided on Basecamp within Masai Mara having been to Masai before and our preference over the South Africa safari parks which find the animals enclosed in their respective enclosures and not roaming wild.
After landing at Masai our driver Edward met us and took us on a drive with a picnic lunch before heading to the camp.
Very pleased with the accommodation and location right on the edge of the reserve next to the river.
Following 2 days on safari watch seeing many animals with a family of lions and cubs as our highlight.
Last day flight from Masai went without a hitch.
On my sons birthday the staff gave him a typical Masai birthday song with a special cake.
He says it was one of the best holidays he’s been on.

Trip of a lifetime
Our recent safari adventure through Kenya and Tanzania with Shanjoy Tours & Safaris was nothing short of spectacular! The trip exceeded all our expectations. A huge part of what made this journey so memorable were Martin and our incredible guides, Patrick in Kenya and Elly in Tanzania, who bought their unique strengths to the table.
Kenya with Patrick - A Wildlife Spotting Masterclass
Our safari began in Nairobi, Kenya to Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara with Patrick as our guide, and I can't praise him enough! I saw a lot of reviews regarding Patrick, so I asked Martin that we need Patrick as our guide for Kenya. Patrick is an absolute gem - his knowledge, enthusiasm, and eagle-eyed spotting skills made every game drive a treasure hunt. He delivered the full Big Five experience: lions, water buffalo, elephants, rhinos and leopard. But he didn't stop there - Patrick also tracked down 4 of the Ugly Five (Hyena, Vulture, Warthog, and Marabou Stock), adding a fun twist to our sightings. His ability to spot wildlife from wildlife was uncanny; he'd point out a group of cheetahs stalking prey or a pride of lions sleeping under a tree before we could even focus our binoculars. Beyond his skills, Patrick's warm personality and storytelling made every moment engaging. He's a true safari SUPERSTAR!
Tanzania with Elly - Witnessing Nature's Grand Show
Crossing into Tanzania, we were handed over to Elly, who guided us through the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Elly brought a different flavor to the trip, his deep understanding of the ecosystem and his knack for positioning us at the right place at the right time. The highlight was witnessing the Great Wildebeest Migration in the Serengeti - an awe-inspiring spectacle of thousands of wildebeest thundering across the plains. Elly's treated us to a heart-pounding scene of lions hunting, along with sightings of hippopotamus, giraffe, rhinos, elephants, zebras etc. Ngorongoro Crater felt like stepping into a wild-life documentary, and Elly's insights into the area's geology and animal behavior enriched the experience. Elly also helped us with talking to different vendors for the Hot Air Balloon ride. He was able to get us the ride within our budget.

Great Safari company
My partner and I did a 5 day Nakuru and Masai Mara safari in December 2024 and had a wonderful experience. This was my 6th safari so the bar was set high and I was happy with everything. Our guide and driver Patrick, took good care of us and was very knowledgeable. He made it his priority to find the big 5 for us. We stayed at Lion Hill game lodge in Lake Nakuru National Park, the room we had was ok and the buffet was really good. In Masai Mara we had a luxury room at Prideinn Mara camp and loved it! It was located in the park so it was very convenient for our game drives. I’ve never had so many close encounters with big cats as we did on this trip. Overall we would recommend Shanjoy.

Recommend without any hesitation.
Very efficient organization. From the time I contacted them 4 weeks prior to our vacation, they very quickly provided a great itinerary for 10 days and very accommodating in adjusting the dates. Three of us on this tour and they met us at the hotel and took care of everything till our return to the airport on time. The drivers, Patrick and Isaiah are are very careful and safe. They are very patient and knowledgeable. They know the local rangers and know where to go for must see things. Like the swimming hole in Buffalo Springs National parks. We are able to see all the animals close and the resorts picked for us were excellent. We made it clear that our purpose was to see as much wild life as possible and they did a great job accomplishing that. We are very satisfied with the service and it is well worth the money we paid. We will take vacation with Shanjoy again if we plan another tour in that part of the continent.

Unforgettable Safari in Kenya – The Best Trip of Our Lives!
My friend and I travel a lot, but this tour exceeded all our expectations! Every day was filled with incredible emotions – we thought it couldn't get any better, yet each day became even more exciting and unforgettable. We were in a state of pure euphoria – from the breathtaking nature, amazing wildlife, outstanding service, and the genuine care from the organizers.
At first, we were worried about safety since we were traveling alone as two women. However, everything was at the highest level: we were always under supervision, never left alone, and our guide continued to check on us even after the safari, helping with transfers and ensuring we were comfortable.
The entire tour was perfectly organized. Our driver was a true professional – he knew exactly where to find the animals, gave us plenty of time to enjoy the moment, and made the journey as smooth as possible. We could plan our day ourselves, so we never felt exhausted and always had the best experience.
The accommodations were cozy, and the food was delicious, with various options, including vegetarian dishes. The organizers also gave us a wonderful surprise – beautiful hats that perfectly complemented our safari look and became a cherished memory of this trip.
At first, the tour seemed expensive, but after experiencing such exceptional service and emotions, we realized it was worth every penny. This was the best adventure of our lives! No downsides – only pure joy. We highly recommend this tour and these organizers to anyone dreaming of an authentic safari experience!

This was my first safari and Patrick with Sanjoy Tours provided a wonderful day-to-day experience. From the moment I left the hotel and traveled to begin the safari I felt comfortable, excited, and completely enthralled with the beauty of the landscape, scenery, and all of the many types of animals.
Our driver provided detailed information about the different types of topography and animals.

Amazing experience
We were together with Shanjoy tours on a combined Kenya and Tanzania safari for 8 days and it was an amazing experience. The service was from the beginning on, when we found Shanjoy on safaribookings.com and made first contact to plan the tour very professional. All our wishes were included in the tour plan and we received fast responses.
When the safari started, we made first contact in person with Patrick and Samuel, or guide for the next days. We felt very soon, that we were in good hands. Beside the great wildlife experience (we saw the big five and many many cheetahs) we want to highlight here that our guide Samuel has had always an open ear for our wishes, we felt safe with him on the roads and the choice of lodges (where we followed Shanjoys recommendations) was fantastic.
We also want to highlight, that we had problems with our airline, losing the luggage on the incoming flight and we had a flight cancellation of the return flight. Thanks to Patrick, (he could manage to pick up the luggage at Nairobi airport) we received our luggage after a few days and we could also extend the safari for one day. We know, this is not self-evident and a great service.
