Booking Conditions
1. Booking & Payment
When a tour has been agreed on between the guests and Blue Sky Namibia Tours, a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the tour fare must be transferred to our account. Please ensure that full travel insurance is taken out when the deposit has been paid, including unforeseen cancellation. Final payment is due to Blue Sky Namibia Tours 45 days before the tour date.
2. Cancellation
Cancellation of bookings must be in writing and will only be accepted on written notification. If cancellation is made after full payment has been received by Blue Sky Namibia Tours, charges will be levied. These charges are as follows:
Less than 4 weeks notice 25% of full rate
Less than 3 weeks notice 50% of full rate
Less than 2 weeks notice 75% of full rate
7 days or less or NO SHOW 100% of full rate
Should guests fail to join a tour, or join after departure, or leave before completion, no tour refund can be made.
Unfortunately we must levy these charges as Blue Sky Namibia Tours would be levied in turn by lodges where booking have been made and confirmed.
3. Baggage
Because space is restricted guests should limit baggage to 12kg or 25lbs in a soft bag.
4. Wild Animals
Please note that tours may take guests into contact with wild animals. Attacks by wild animals are rare but no tour into the African bush can guarantee that these will not occur. Neither Blue Sky Namibia Tours, nor its employees, can be held responsible for any incident or injury whilst on tour.
5. Passports & Visas
The onus is on guests to ensure that passports and visas are valid for countries visited.
6. Health
Guests should ensure that an adequate supply of any necessary medication is brought with them and the tour leader should be informed if guests have a health condition. Guests should bring their own insect repellent as this is not always available whilst on tour. Anti-malaria precautions should be commenced before departure.
7. Not Included
The following items are not included: insurance to cover cancellation or curtailment, medical, baggage, evacuation back home, personal laundry, tips, alcohol, airfares to Namibia.
8. Changes to Schedules
Although every effort is made to adhere to schedules it should be borne in mind that Blue Sky Namibia Tours is occasionally obliged to change routes or camps due to changing conditions. Such conditions may be seasonal rainfall, game migrations, reservation problems etc.
9. Insurance
All guests must take out comprehensive insurance cover when paying their confirmation deposit, to cover themselves for cancellation, curtailment, medical expenses, personal baggage, emergency evacuation back home, and money.
10. Responsibility
Neither Blue Sky Namibia Tours nor any person nor agent acting for or on behalf of the Company shall be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever arising from any cause whatsoever. In addition Blue Sky Namibia Tours shall have the right at any time and at its discretion to cancel any tour or the remainder thereof or make any alteration in route, accommodation, price or other details and in the event of any tour being rendered impossible, illegal or advisable by weather, strike, war, government or any interference or any other cause whatsoever, the extra expense incurred as a result thereof shall be the responsibility of the passenger.
Blue Sky Namibia Tours may at its discretion and without liability or cost to itself at any time cancel or terminate the guest’s booking and in particular without limiting the generality of the a foregoing it shall be entitled to do so in the event of illness or the illegal or incompatible behaviour of the guest, who shall in such circumstances not be entitled to any refund.
The person making a booking will, by the making of such booking, warrant that he or she has authority to enter into a contract on behalf of the other person/s included in such a booking and in the event of the failure of any or all of the other persons so included to make payment, the person making the booking shall by his/her signature thereof assume personal liability for the total price of all bookings made by him/her.
11. Refunds
Whilst Blue Sky Namibia Tours endeavours to ensure that all anticipated accommodation is available as planned, there shall be no claim of any nature whatsoever against the Company for a refund either in the whole or part, if any accommodation or excursion is unavailable and a reasonable alternative was not found. If the guest is unable to use any service provided in the itinerary, then no refund is due.
12. Prices
We will do our utmost to keep to the prices quoted. Should increases be forced on us by airlines, lodges, exchange rates etc. we reserve the right to surcharge without notice, up to a maximum of 10% of the tour fare.
13. Delays
We cannot be held liable for any delays or any additional costs incurred as a result of airlines not running to schedule.
14. If one of our guides is unable to take a tour due to illness etc. we reserve the right to substitute with another guide.
15. The agreement is made subject to and shall be governed by the laws of the
country in which the tour took place.
16. Guests with special dietary problems are advised to warn us in advance of their departure.
17. Reconfirmations – it is not the responsibility of Blue Sky Namibia Tours to reconfirm airline flights. This must be done timeously by the passenger.
18. Consent
The payment of the deposit or any other partial payment for a reservation on a tour constitutes consent by all guests covered by that payment to all the provisions of the conditions contained in this document. The terms under which guests consent to take these tours cannot be changed or amended except in writing signed by a Director of the Company.
19. Payment Details
The fastest, easiest and safest way to pay is to deposit the money into our account by SWIFT transfer SWIFT CODE FIRNNANX. N.B.All bank charges are for your account. Please fax a copy of the deposit/payment as proof of payment. The payment should be made in South African Rand (ZAR), as the Namibian dollar is linked to it on a 1:1 basis.
