PASSPORTS & VISA
All visitors to Tanzania require a return or onward ticket and a valid passport with an entry or re-entry visa, duly endorsed. Visas are not required for visitors from some Commonwealth countries and other specified countries. Visas can be obtained from any Tanzania Diplomatic Mission or Consulate abroad, and at main entry points including international airports, sea ports and border posts.
Families travelling with children under the age of 18 years must check on regulations from 01 October 2014.
We are expecting changes to visa requirements and proof of birth certificates designed to prevent child abuse.

YELLOW FEVER VACCINATION:
Please take note that the East Africa authorities at airports or other points of entry require overseas visitors coming from countries infected with yellow fever (including South America & Central Africa) to have a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate. This also applies to travelers who have been to these countries in transit – for example if you fly from USA via South America & on to East Africa. It is not possible to obtain a yellow fever vaccination on arrival in East Africa. The certificate should be dated at least 10 days prior to arrival here & is valid for 10 years. This is a serious warning & travelers will be refused entry to East Africa if they do not comply.
