Trip of a Lifetime

We opted for the mid-range package however when we arrived, it was definitely undersold!
Jack was the main man of the tour. Knowledgeable, professional but also passionate. We did a lot of driving but he still kept us educated (not just animals) and we even saw the Big 5!. He ensures you get the best view possible whilst he at the same time gives a respectable distance to ensure the animals are not distressed.
Overall, I would definitely recommend both the company and Jack if you are lucky enough to get him.
Amazing Experience
We had an amazing safari with Jack in June 2026, visiting Massai Mara and Lake Nakuru. From speaking to the organisers beforehand, arranging payment in the office and everything with Jack on the safari, everything was so well organised. Read moreus feel safe and comfortable throughout. We were 7 in one jeep and had plenty of space.
We opted for the mid-range accomodation which honestly felt more like luxury. Food was great and the organisation was better than I have experienced anywhere, where each place was ready to show us to our lodge before we even arrived.
We chose to do the optional visit to the Massai Village which was interesting, but quite eye-opening.
In regards to the safari, it was an experience of a lifetime. Jack ensured we found all the big 5 plus many more, and he taught us lots about not just the animals, but also birds, plants and different types of tree. He also pointed out interesting places on the journey there. Jack clearly takes pride in what he does, and showed us the animals in a legal and ethical way, getting close but without getting in the way or blocking the paths of any of the animals.
I will be recommending Axis and Jack to everyone I know!

Some of the highlights included a huge elephant herd crossing the plains beneath Mount Kilimanjaro and the unforgettable sight of a cheetah attempting to hunt a group of wildebeest. We also enjoyed incredible sightings of buffalo, hippos, giraffes, zebras, baboons, and a remarkable variety of birdlife.
Kelvin’s expertise extended beyond mammals. His passion for birding helped us spot numerous species, including Lilac-breasted Rollers, Grey Crowned Cranes, Pelicans, Spur-winged Geese, Blacksmith Plovers, Marabou Storks, and Superb Starlings.
What made the experience even better was Kelvin himself. He was always friendly, professional, and attentive, providing excellent service throughout our stay. As Spanish travellers, we especially appreciated that he spoke not only excellent English but also Spanish, which made communication easy and added a personal touch to the experience.
The only disappointment was that Kelvin could not accompany us on the Masai Mara portion of our trip. We genuinely considered changing our plans just to continue travelling with him.
Kelvin, thank you for making our Kenya safari one of the most memorable experiences of our lives. We will definitely return and will be asking for you by name.

Where do I even begin. Kelvin is not just a guide, he is a storyteller, a tracker, and one of the most passionate people I have ever met. My partner Carmen and I came to Amboseli with high hopes, and Kelvin exceeded every single one of them.

Elephants A massive herd of 30 crossing the plain with Kilimanjaro rising behind them. Kelvin knew everything about them, Jaw-dropping.
Lions — He spotted a lioness stalking through tall grass that we would have completely missed. We watched her and two cubs for nearly an hour.
Cheetah — The highlight of the trip. A mother with three cubs resting under an acacia. Kelvin told us most visitors never see cheetah in Amboseli. We felt incredibly lucky.
Buffalo, Hippos, Giraffes, Zebras — All spectacular, always perfectly positioned by Kelvin for photos.
Birds — Kelvin is a brilliant birder too. He pointed out the Lilac-breasted Roller, Grey Crowned Cranes, Pelicans gliding over the swamps, a Spur-winged Goose, Blacksmith Plovers by the waterline, Marabou Storks, Superb Starlings.
The only sadness was that Kelvin couldn't join us for the Masai Mara leg — we were flying and a different vehicle was arranged there. We genuinely considered changing the plan just to keep him with us. That is how good he is.
Kelvin, thank you. You made our Kenya safari the most memorable trip of our lives. We will be back and will be asking for you by name.

Excellent service
