Beyond being amazing wildlife spotters, Raymond and Richard made our entire journey seamless and incredibly comfortable. Richard made sure we were always stocked with cold, refreshing water, while Raymond expertly answered every single question we had about the animals and landscapes. They were exceptionally professional, always on time for game drives, and brought the absolute best energy to the truck. They were always up for a joke and kept us laughing from sunrise to sunset. Incredibly talented, observant, and friendly.
We purchased the 3-day Masai Mara adventure tour, which included a two-night stay. Axis Safari answered all our questions throughout the process, and the entire team was friendly; we made our payment at their office and then traveled from Nairobi to Masai Mara—a five-hour journey. Great Safari with a Friendly Guide
We had a great safari with Peter kapino. Everything was well organized, and our guide Peter kapino was friendly, patient, and good at spotting animals. We saw many amazing animals, including lions, elephants, cheetahs and more. The trip was smooth and good value for money. I would happily recommend them to anyone visiting Kenya.

I was assisted properly during inquiry up to booking, including organizing a pick up of my bag to the airport.thanks to Rita. BUT the game drive and the tour ended up a disaster.
Driver/Guide Rodgers seems to be always in a hurry and not giving options. While it is in itinerary that you should inform,the guide should also ask or atleast br ... Read moreief before the day starts. We were asked about the boat ride, but not the Crescend island. So we ended up doing twice boat and Crescent island. Convenient for the guide as the day finished early.
2nd, in Hells gate, he just dropped us in the gate, pointed the guide and the bike. Even he knew I do not know how to bike and dressed improperly,he said that there's bike for 2. Again, laziness. He should have atleast laid the options. Because cars can go inside the park.
3rd, on the last day, the safari will be cut because there is a protest. We should leave early. But the President of Kenya spoke at night and went in between the 2 parties of protester. The next morning no update from Rodgers. So I told him the President spoke last night. He got wild! Pull the car in Amboseli and did the safari.HE ASSUMED because I told him that, I want to still do the safari. Left the other 2 guest confused too. Created a scenario in Amboseli park. Refused to talk the whole drive. Didnt give me also the packed lunch.
Guides job is to atleast update with developing cases/story, right? And in case the situation got back to normal overnight, it is just fair for paying guest to maximize the day because after all, WE PAID FOR IT!

Incredible tour from start to finish! Peter from the Axis team took so much time and effort to patiently explain various options and packages while we were planning. When we went to the office in Nairobi, the entire team was lovely and incredibly helpful. Our guide, Caxstone, was great. He is an expert driver who easily manoeuvred through some very tough and challenging roads, and he had an answer for every single question we threw at him. He made some brilliant executive decisions, like driving us straight to the Masai Mara for a game drive on Day 1 instead of waiting for the typical evening drive after check-in. Because of which we maximized our first day, got extra hours in the park, and incredibly saw all of the Big Five on our very first day! He consistently made great decisions and put a lot of effort into making sure we had incredible wildlife sightings throughout the whole trip.
They included some decent options for accommodation and lunch stops. Some of our camps were beautifully located with better amenities than competing tours. We never felt like we missed out on anything, despite being on a budget. Highly recommend!
Good tour operator.but not so good driver
The was good until the last day. On the second last day our driver Roger made us aware of protests happening on the following day and gave us a choice of whether or not to go straight back to Nairobi rather than do an early morning game drive. We wanted to go back to Nairobi to avoid the protests but then he adamantly took us to the national park in order to "secure a good review" (his words). We ... Read moreall told him that we didn't feel safe to hang around to do the game drive after which he said we'll go back to Nairobi, but then he lied and still drove us to the park. We were all furious with him.
All in all, although the tour operator and safari were good, best to find out who your driver is in advance to see if it is roger.
Also a side note, Axis may say it's not needed to carry your passport with you (in case you decide to leave it at your hotel for safe keeping), but one of the hotels in Nakuru did request at least a copy of your passport upon check in.
Final side note, we gave our dietary requirements (vegetarian) but for some reason Axis did not relay to the camp in amboselli. Fortunately the camp managed to accommodate us as best as they could.
