Terms and Conditions.

1. Booking Process
- A deposit of 70% of the total trip price is required to confirm a booking. The remaining balance must be paid at least two weeks before the trip begins.
- Bank transfer fees for international payments must be covered by the client. Payments should be made in euros to the provided Ugandan bank account.

2. Cancellation Policy.
- Refunds for cancellations will be determined based on recoverable expenses. Payments made for gorilla and chimpanzee permits to the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) are non-refundable. Management fees are also non-refundable.
- If activities are cancelled due to external factors such as weather, efforts will be made to reschedule. However, no refunds will be issued for these changes. Once paid, dates for gorilla and chimpanzee tracking cannot be changed.

3. Amendments to Bookings.
- Changes to bookings can be made in advance. However, some activities, such as gorilla and chimpanzee tracking, are fixed once payments are made.

4. Health and Travel Insurance.
- Clients are required to have personal health and travel insurance before the trip. Viajes Matatu is not responsible for any illnesses or medical expenses incurred during the trip.

5. Visa and Immigration.
- Clients are responsible for obtaining their own visas and meeting all immigration requirements. Viajes Matatu does not provide visa services.

6. Liability.
- Viajes Matatu is not responsible for the loss or damage of personal belongings, flight delays, or lost luggage. Assistance will be provided for administrative matters, but clients are responsible for any associated costs.
- Clients acknowledge the risks of travel, including road travel in remote areas far from healthcare facilities, and accept these risks under their own responsibility.

7. Force Majeure.
- Viajes Matatu is not liable for cancellations or disruptions caused by natural disasters, terrorist attacks, or other unforeseen events. If clients ignore safety recommendations, they do so at their own risk.

8. Client Responsibilities.
- Clients are expected to adhere to the safety guidelines provided by their guides. Walking at night or in areas not recommended by the guide is done at the client’s own risk.

9. Special Requirements.
- Viajes Matatu accommodates special requirements, such as dietary needs or disabilities, but clients must inform the company in advance. Without prior communication, accommodation of such requests may not be guaranteed.

10. Age Restrictions.
- Toddlers are not allowed on safaris unless prior notice is given to Viajes Matatu. All children below 18 years old must be accompanied by a guardian throughout the trip.

11. Payment Methods.
- Payments should be made via international bank transfer in euros. Clients are responsible for any bank transfer fees incurred.

12. Governing Law*
- These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Uganda. Any disputes arising from these terms will be resolved under Ugandan law.
