Shiwa Safaris owns and runs both Kapishya Hotsprings on the Shiwa Ng'andu estate and the seasonal bush camp, Buffalo Camp in North Luangwa National Park. Kapishya Hotsprings is a quiet secluded Lodge just off the Great North Road, situated on the Estate of Shiwa Ngandu (The Africa House) and is set along the banks of the Mansha River. The main attraction of Kapishya is its natural, sulphur-free hot springs where guests are invited to bath in the 40 degrees of crystal clear waters until their hearts are content.
Buffalo Camp is a seasonal bush camp, operating walking safaris from June to the end of October, and is located in the heart of North Luangwa. We pride ourselves with combining traditional stylish bush comfort with some of the finest game viewing Zambia has to offer. Buffalo Camp is one of the few seasonal bush camps still operating it’s traditional roots in true colonial style. There are really very few places in Africa that can provide you with such intimacy with nature, in total isolation. There are very few roads and you’re unlikely to see anyone else for the duration of your trip. Like the South Park, it lies on the western bank of the Luangwa River bordered on the other side by the dramatic Muchinga escarpment which rises over 1000 meters from the valley floor. Its hazy outline can clearly be seen from the Luangwa river. COME TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE!
