Maasai Legend Safaris is owned and operated by Leonard Abraham Sangeth, a member of the Maasai tribe. Leonard left his traditional way of life and his family at the age of eleven, intent on seeking an education and entering modern society. Maasai Legends Safari’s was born of Leonard’s love for his people, the unique animals they live with and a desire to share this with the outside world. He is a graduate of the College of African Wildlife Management and is fluent in Swahili, English, Spanish and the Maasai language. Drawing from his life experience while growing up with his tribe along with his formal education, and his years spent as a hunting safari guide, Leonard delivers a Safari experience second to none. While on Safari with Leonard you will learn the customs of the Maasai, understand the interactions of the different animal species, predator prey relationships, feeding habits of the animals, methods of tracking game, as well as the challenges faced by the African wildlife authorities in saving these truly unique animals from poachers and habitat loss.
