Bamboo Ecotours is a grass-root social enterprise established to provide unique travel experiences to people who want to explore the scenic beauty of Uganda - The Pearl of Africa! We offer wildlife adventure safaris to Uganda's top national parks, such as Queen Elizabeth National Park and Murchison Falls National Park; gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park; and cultural expeditions, such as the Batwa Trail.
Bamboo Ecotours strives to use tourism to provide opportunities for the local people. We invest up to 15% of our incomes directly into community projects such as building schools, water catchment systems, and health centers. We also provide entrepreneurial training to the local people running small businesses and encourage them to reinvest the earned incomes to break the cycle of poverty.
We also offer volunteer opportunities to travelers who wish to combine travel with a social mission. The volunteers support different community projects in southwestern Uganda, which include teaching conservation education at primary schools, working at local health centers, conducting computer training lessons at schools, working with local farmers, coaching sports teams, and hospitality training at community lodges. The volunteer period can span from two weeks to six months.
