Our Story
Kisoro Tours Uganda Ltd is a dream project that came true. it was started by two people. one of whom is Judith, a retired British nurse, who also has decades of hospitality expertise managing hotels. the other is Dan, who was a recent graduate of Nkumba University School of Science, in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism. The dream (our story) stretches way back to 2007 after one of the founders (Ngirabakunzi Daniel otherwise known as Dan) received an opportunity to work with the Somerset Beekeepers Association in England, UK. This introduced Dan to many different international visitors, and he developed an interest in tourism more importantly, as tourism in Uganda was a relatively new and growing industry by then, there were obvious differences in professionalism and customer service in Uganda when compared to Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa. for us to change the picture, and show the world the real and beautiful Uganda, we decided to create Kisoro Tours Uganda Ltd which has been based on professionalism and travel advice you can trust since 2008, and we have never looked back.
Uganda is our home and we're thrilled to share it with our clients. in 2006, we set up Kisoro Honey Producers - a community-based project available to all bee farmers living around Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, and in the southern part of Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. we are proud to say that Kisoro Honey Producers helped 1,000 bee farmers in and around Kisoro District. dan is now not only an expert in tourism but he is also an expert in bee-keeping in Uganda
The bee-keeping project couldn't survive on the jungle's edge without the help of tourists so we put together a team of local guides who would take guests for a unique beekeeping experience, as well as our discovery expeditions which included traditional gorilla trekking and other wildlife safaris. we have successfully built one of the top gorilla safari companies here in East Africa.
