Company Profile

Who we are: We are five friends—Moses Nyago, Yvonne Apiny, Miguel Leal, Mustapha Nsubuga, and Hamlet Mugabe—passionate about conservation and tourism, who initiated Leonne Africa Safaris & Adventures. We've known each other for a long time, having collaborated on wildlife and biodiversity conservation and tourism projects in the Albertine Rift. After loosely organizing thrilling safaris for friends visiting Uganda and Rwanda since 2012, we formally established ourselves as a tour and travel company in 2023. With our extensive knowledge of wildlife conservation and tourism, we maintain a high standard for all wildlife safaris and related tours in Uganda and East Africa.

Our Mission:
To create exceptional travel experiences that immerse our guests in Africa's breathtaking beauty, wildlife, and rich culture through personalized service, sustainable practices, and a passion for exploration while promoting responsible tourism that benefits local communities and conserves biodiversity.

Our core values are
Integrity, Time Consciousness, Customer Care, and Quality Service.

The Team: We are a team of enthusiastic professionals dedicated to organising memorable wildlife safaris, honeymoon getaways, wildlife photography, filming, documentary safaris, and other personalized tour services that cater to our clients' needs and interests. Moses Nyago is the Managing Director and Team Leader. Moses is an accomplished traveler and a University of Florida (USA) alumnus. His zeal for both tourism and wildlife conservation is unrivaled. Yvonne Apiny Apudah is the Finance Director. Along with her extensive travels, Yvonne has a cheerful, witty, and affectionate demeanor. Her command of French is quite good and useful for our French-speaking clients.  Miguel Leal is a Safari Advisor. Originally from Holland, Miguel currently resides in the US. He has previously lived and worked in Uganda and East Africa. He loves traveling and consulting, serving as our contact for North America and the Netherlands. Mustapha Nsubuga is our Safari Expert and Head of Field Operations. Mustapha is also a carnivore researcher and safari enthusiast.  Hamlet Mugabe is the Birding Safari Expert. He is trained at Mweka Wildlife College in Tanzania and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology at Cornell University, Sierra-Nevada Field Campus. Leonne Africa Safaris & Adventures also employs other competent staff for day-to-day operations, including both an office team and guides/drivers. Our guides can communicate in English as well as several local languages. They take regular refresher courses in guiding and customer care and possess excellent skills in defensive driving and first aid.

Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Tourism:
We established Leonne Africa Safaris & Adventures to contribute to mitigating Human-Wildlife Conflicts (HWC) around protected areas. Wildlife scouts and community volunteers, play a vital role in managing Human-Wildlife conflicts in communities neighboring protected areas. We have committed to using a portion of our proceeds to support children of wildlife scouts and volunteers across several national parks with essential educational materials to keep them in school.
