Fantastic experience with a knowledgeable guide
The title says it all - my wife and I had a fantastic experience. Our guide was hustling to find the wildlife, he was constantly checking in with colleagues on the radio (while he wasn't teaching us about them). We covered a lot of ground and the highlights of our day were spotting two cheetah super close up, that we followed for 10 or 15 minutes while they prowled, and then seeing a baby elephant, about a week old with its mom, still learning to use its trunk.
We stayed in the Skukuza area and did a few of the game drives run by the parks service there. These were solid for the price but they are on a 26 person bus and run the same trip every time, day and night. Mixing it up with a private drive was very much worth the extra cost as we got to go a completely different route and the rarest and most amazing sightings from our whole trip. Organizing with them felt extremely transparent and easy, we got a lot of advice from the managers before our trip and it helped a lot with planning. Whether you're staying in the park or outside Elephant Herd will handle your trip with professionality and take you on an unforgettable experience

This was a very exciting, educational, and fascinating experience! I will book more game drives with Elephant Herd Safaris on future endeavors to the Kruger National Park.

Another great experience with Bheki
I live in Cape Town, but visit Kruger at least once or twice a year usually with international guests. In January 2024, I had booked a day safari in Kruger with Elephant Herd Safaris with my friends and Bheki was our guide. He was definitely one of the best guides I have ever experienced .... He was bang on time to collect us at 5am and his knowledge about the wildlife, birds and plants is truly exceptional not to mention clearly having a natural and genuine passion for what he does. We had the most awesome day and Bheki managed to find us the big 5 ! I then came again to Kruger in March 2024 with other friends and we booked through Elephant Herd Safaris again, we did ask for Bheki .... but he had already been booked. Our guide though (Apologies his name escapes me) was clearly from the same stock ... punctual, polite, attentive, knowledgeable -everything one would hope for in a guide, we had another great day.
Then in January this year, I was again with friends, but local ones this time from Cape Town. We were not intending to book a guide this time, as were quite happy to share the driving, but due to the floods, our game viewing was not that great, so we decided to book a half day with Elephant Herd once more. When being collected at 5am, I was so happy to once again be reunited with Bheki again .... and had an awesome morning. We did not quite make the big 5 this time as many roads were closed, but we saw a lot more than we would have seen on our own.
In summary - I whole heartedly recommend Elephant Herd Tours and Safaris is the only company I will book my tours through.

A Smooth Ride
From the first contact with Brendon's detailed tour proposal to the last day of our tour, Elephant Herd Tours & Safaris was very straightforward, clear and concise. We had done a Safari tour in Tanzania before where we were with one vehicle and one guide for six days. It was not how the Elephant functions. But once we got used to how they work, it was breezy. There was always someone taking care of you, even though it was not one assigned guide. Looking back, all it took for us was to send them the initial email to let them know what we were looking for. Their itinerary was perfect for us. Five days included a whole day safari, a sunset safari, a sunrise safari, zipline activities and the Panorama Tour. We were able to experience both Kruger National Park and a private game reserve. The luxury lodge Zarafa they booked for us was absolutely amazing. It was a perfect place for us to unwind after all those activities. Thank you Elephant Herd Tour & Safaris for an unforgettable experience of your beautiful land, animals and people!

Excellent operator who did everything for our experience
The safari was the best I have been on, and I have been on more than I can count, probably 10 by now. For the other guests (three + me) this was the second safari and even if we wanted to see so different animals (they wished to see the big 5 and I wanted to see more birds and not so common animals) the tour guide managed to spot animals for all of us, from leopard, giraffe, elephants, pumba and antelopes to a gecko on a tree, a spider in a web and lots of birds, both big and small. He stoped and reverser several times and asked if we could see what he saw and told us the namnes and some facts about the animals we saw. As he drove he constantly (safari was 5 hours) looked from side to side and up and down to spot animals for us. If I ever go back to Kruger for a safari the Elephant heard is a must. Gave the guide 5+/5 and tipped dubble. No doubt the best.

Kruger Safari
Can't recommend this enough, it was exactly what we wanted. We did the 4 day trip. Joining instructions were good and it was easy to contact the tour company when we needed clarifications. The first morning safari we found the lions easily. Saw most of the animals we wanted to see and the guides were great. We stayed in some excellent accommodation, The Zarafa was excellent, done out in Indonesian and the food was some of the best I've ever had PLUS we were the only 2 people staying there for the 2 nights we were there so nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

Elephant Herd provided excellent service and offered honest options. They went above and beyond with my transfers from Johannesburg, and also booked rides through sanparks for me. The guided Safaris were excellent to. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend them

I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a safari adventure in Kruger National Park, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Located in northeastern South Africa, Kruger is one of Africa's largest and most renowned game reserves, offering an unforgettable wildlife experience.

Incredible experience
We had the best guides, Smiley and Trevor and on day 1 Doctor! They were fun and made sure we saw the big five and also the birds as we have a special interest in them. They knew so much about the animals! And they were right on time!
