Exceeded expectation
Going on a safari was an absolute must during our time in Africa! My friend and I chose the two day safari based on affordability and the sites visited (Tarangire National Park and Ngorongoro Crater). Based on our experience in rainy season...the Tarangire was incredible for elephants and giraffes and “stereotypical African” vegetation, while the Ngorongoro is excellent for scenery, herds of animals, zebras, simbas, shenzis, water buffalo, pumbaas, hippos, antelope, rafikis, rhinos, timons, and wildebeest. Our favourite day was the crater. I spent two months in Africa and this was honestly the only thing that went smoothly. Thank you for that. The accommodation during the safari was awesome, our driver was very kind and knowledgeable, the cooks were very welcoming and cooked well. There were many fun surprises along the way! From the moment we arrived at the airport everything was planned and taken care of, up until we left. Would recommend the safari!!! Thank you!

Life changing experience
The focus is indeed set on a very good path. I did a one day Safari and the experience was just incredible. It was my very first one and Nelson did a beautiful job with the organisation. There were just two days from the idea of going until jumping into the landcruiser but everything went smooth and turned out awesome. Quick and easy but I also felt treated very respectfully and honestly. Food, Lodge, Driver everything was perfect and I have nothing to complain.
The Lionsgate Hostel, from where it all started, is a place which opens and connects worlds. Volunteers, travellers, tourists and locals all come together and create a unique experience. Places like this and people like Nelson make you look into the future with a wide smile. It was definitly not my last Safari with Focus in Africa and I can recommend it with all my heart.

Amazing Safari with even better host Nelson
‘Focus in Africa’ is your got to man for the full Tanzanian Experience.
Safari was the best I did all over East Africa. Nelson and his crew go above and beyond the ensure the you have best time possible. Our driver Herman travelled smooth through the African massage terrain and was super friendly. The camping, night entertainment, prepared meals and morning views add such a cultural insight to your adventure.
His prices were the cheapest I saw and The organisation service is outstanding.
I felt at home in their hostel ‘Lionsgate’ that felt more like a home stay amongst their beautiful family. You are prepared both breakfast and dinner everyday, cooked with the local produce and a whole lotta love. Also the cheapest in all of Arusha for just $10 a night.
If you are looking to volunteer in teaching, construction, medical services or any field you think you can help Nelson has all the connections and solutions In Arusha.
There is a school very close by you can go volunteer at even if it’s just for one day, they’ll love the visit and it’ll be an experience you’ll never forget.
If you are interested in Safari, volunteering, the amazing one day activities Arusha has to offer, he is your man. Truely ‘apart of the solution not the problem’.

Amazing weekend safari
At first we had trouble finding a good safari company. Then we did some research and we found Focus In Africa with many stars and many good recommendations.
We contacted the company and we met with the people. The service is very good and very kind people.
They arranged everything for us, the interfee, food, a place to sleep and transport.
The safari was on a weekend in Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro. We stayed overnight in a place on top of a mountain with a beautiful view of Lake Manyara. The place we stayed in had entertainment with local music.
We saw alot of animals and the nature was so beautiful.
Thank you for the safari

Amazing 2 day trip to Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro
We started by meeting Nelson, he explained what we could expect from the trip.
He was good to answer the questions we had.
Our safari guide Herman was good to spot the animals and told us many things about them.
We saw many animals like; girafs, lions, baboons, elephants(really close), rhinos, hippos, buffalos, flamingos and many more. We were lucky to come in the baby boom season so we saw many baby animals.
We overnight in some igloos and there were amazing entertaiment from locals.
Water, breakfeast, lunchbox and dinner was included in the price

Very helpful and reliable
Focus in africa were helpful from the start and offered a very good price for a 3 day safari covering the ngorongoro crater and the serengeti. Nelson was always contactable and replied promptly. The safari was well organised and very enjoyable

Amazing 'budget' safari!
What a couple of days! Booked really last minute but Nelson made everything so easy! Such good communication and airport transfers all ran so smoothly. half our group had their flight delayed by 24 hours and Nelson still made everything possible even reducing the safari price despite having to make more airport trips.
The safari itself didn't disappoint and definitely didn't feel 'budget'. Amazing driver Herman and incredible cook William - always asked what sort of food we wanted! The tents were undercover incase it rained and there were beds off the floor.
We also stayed in Nelson's hostel before and after which was so friendly and again delicious food! Felt like part of the family - so welcoming to us all!
Could not recommend more - really was the best three days!

Best way to go on a safari
Our safari trip was planned within a day! With the help of Nelson and his quick replies on whatsapp , we were even able to heavily customise our trip. Focus team should rename themsevles to focus on customers. We had a lot of help from them not only in arranging the USDs for payments but also in accommodating our last minute changes to the plan , while we were on safari. Herman is an excellent guide , who made sure we saw what we came for- the migration , along with a variety of other wildlife. In all, a great experience, with a great price to go along with it.

Machame Route - Kilimanjaro Hike and 4-day Tanzania Safari
Overall a fantastic experience and would book again with this company. A friend and I booked the our 6 day Machame hike with Focus in Africa and was quite affordable and professional. I was picked up from Kilimanjaro International airport and taking to Lionsgate Hostel, which had breakfast and supper meals included as well as a friendly environment to be apart of with the Host, staff, and other people using the hostel being very nice. The hike was awesome with our head guide Charles. Charles has completed many hikes was very experienced and knowledgeable in regards to hiking Mount Kilimanjaro. Meals on the hike were delicious and totally unexpected. All in all, would again book a Kilimanjaro hike with Focus in Africa.
As for the 4-day safari, again not enough said about how great this experience was. We visited Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater. Our guide was very knowledgeable when it came to the different game in the parks as well as finding the best spots to see animals. Heading into the national parks can be a headache for some as wait times can range from 10 minutes to an hour or so. However, we never spent a ton of time at each gate entrance, and our guide made sure to get through in a timely matter. As well, we wanted to get up early to see active game in the parks as this is the best time to see them, and our guide made sure of this as we headed out in the early morning hours where we had great luck in seeing all types of game. Again, I would recommend Focus in Africa to book a safari. Hope I can visit again!
