Yes you really do need your rain coat in the Dessert.
5/5

Loved the Trip, it was everything I hoped it would be, and even more, what an experience to have rain in the Dessert, and to see all the plants and animals that only show up after the rain. Magical.

That said, when the packing list says rain coat, and you say - but I am going to the dessert - remember it can rand does rain in the dessert.....

Loved the trip, I cannot say thank you enough to the staff for everything they did for us. It just flowed flawlessly - at least to those of us on the trip.

The horses were fantastic, the riding spectacular, what more can you ask for.

in the immortal words of "The Terminator" ... "I'll be back". You don't get rides like this just anywhere.

I have realised one of my dreams crossing Namibia on a horse and in a truly adventurous way!!
5/5

It was the adventure I was hoping it would be!Felt alive and free! Sky, stars, sand, dunes sun, horses, scorpions, dust, sweat and speed all dressed with laughter's, great food, superb organisation and lots of grit....considering my group happened to start under a very very...very much needed torrential rain storm!!! I will always remember that sense of belonging I developed with the horses and the place, for a few intense days we formed a big temporary family where horses and their humans were moving and breathing all together in this 350km ride!! It was all amazing and very real ...one very special moment that touched me and that I will always take with me was climbing up the Kuiseb with Clinton, we really did it together and I will never forget this horse...I could sense he was truly taking care of me and waiting for me ...protecting me in this tricky climb, as difficult as it was, as much as I was trying my best to give him manouvering space!Another highlight the stormy sunsets with rainbows and blood red skies whilst sipping a Savannah and handling my camera ..and the unforgettable gallops on Xerox, who so far, is the lightest and easier mare I rode at speed!! She loves speed!!Finally ....the "dearly beloved" crew!! Always there with a smile and advice if needed from wake up time to sleeping time always moving perfectly in sync and being the glue that stuck us together humans and horses for the whole distance and under every circumstance being it a rainstorm of the hottest day..thank you all guys hope to come back again soon!!!

Fantastic attention to detail, fast paced ride through the namid desert
5/5

There were 8 clients on this face paced ride through the namid desert. The horses were extremely fit and could canter or gallop for a few kilometres at a time. You need to be riding fit for this ride due to the length of time in the saddle or standing in the stirrups when going for long slow distance. The guides took great care both of the horses and the clients to ensure the saddles did not rub. The food was excellent, and the cook catered for food fussiness with good cheer. Gin and tonics, beer and wine flowed as soon as the day’s ride was over. Tents were available for sleeping in, but most of us chose to sleep in swags on top of a raised bed (off the ground to avoid scorpions), enabling us to enjoy the stars at night and fresh air. The scenery was beautiful and varied; from huge red sand dunes to flat calcrete to the steep sided kuiseb canyon. A fantastic holiday, which I would highly recommend. Thank you to the namibia horse safari company for an unforgettable experience!

Our very high expectations on the trail in general was fulfilled in total.
5/5

As we described above this was truly an experience in our taste. We have really no complaints on anything. Besides the riding as such, scenery, staffs excellent competence we particularly want to emphasize Reynes marvelous cooking. The only factor I personally (Bo) could have some minor comment on is that, as in most instances with horses used for trails, they are somewhat insensitive to equestrian shows (riders use of legs, weight, and reins) thus developing bad habits that needs professional training to eliminate (insensitiveness to sidemoving and driving shank and weightshifting plus tendency to pulling of reins). This is however a common problem in general and not any particular problem for the Namibian Horse Safari Company as it goes for all trail-riding companies and time available for daily obedience training of horses.

An amazing experience, brilliantly organised
5/5

The safari was out of this world! The team organised and cared for us fantastically, they could not have done more for us. The safari itself was a unique experience which ended with a gallop along the beach. I would recommend this trip and the Namibia Horse Safari Company to everyone. I would go again tomorrow if I could!

An Expedition int the Heart of the Namib Desert.
5/5

The expedition was a well planned and well executed trip into the Namib Desert. Horses, gear, and staff were all top notch. We learned about the geology of the desert, as well as of the plants and animals that populate it. The riding was intense, with much galloping and lots of terrain covered each day. Food and drinks were abundant - we lacked for nothing in that respect.
The staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The riders were from five different countries, in ages from 13 to 74 - all good riders and traveling companions. We had lots of laughs and good conversations around the campfires.
I will think back on the riding, the desert, and the camaraderie shared by the staff and riders as the highlights of the trip.

Unique experience with endless open skies and fantastic crew & horses
5/5

Was going through the reviews listed and couldn't agree more, it was such an amazing trip. The whole operation is extremely well organized and crew is very experienced, and just so friendly and helpful. They take great care of guests and horses. Both guests & crew were fun to hang out with around the campfire.
Was a bit worried my riding level and fitness weren't enough, but these horses are quite something. Alert, forward going and well behaved, they're cool with taking you through the desert so you can just sit there and enjoy the view.
Camping was much more luxurious than I expected, and food was delicious, varied and plenty. Bedrolls surprisingly cozy and comfortable even with minus temperatures at night. Seen more shooting stars than I had wishes to make.
Hope to go again! Would advise to add a few days in Namibia after the safari to transition back to normal life.

Absolutely amazing experience!
5/5

I thought the whole trip was amazing. Expertly led by Andrew and ably assisted by Verena. Overwatched by the horse whisperer herself Talane. The girls in camp , Phoebe and Chritina were fabulous! Informative, inventive and brilliant at setting up food and camp etc. Colin and Nelson were also very helpful and cheerful .The trip was above expectation and just thoroughly enjoyable, if sitting on a horse for 8 hours can be so ! The scenery and route was like out of a movie. Would do it again!
