Great Experience
The itinerary was varied and we were able to experience many aspects of Namibia. The vehicle was comfortable and well-maintained and our driver/guide was superb in every respect. We just had a marvelous time and would recommend the operator to any traveler. We also were supposed to travel in 2021 but that was not possible and they made the rebooking easy. First rate!

Super organised, great experience and very helpful team
Bluecrane Safaris organised our fantastic self-drive in Namibia, including vehicle hire and accommodation. Everything went perfectly, we had an amazing time, the accommodation was wonderful, and the vehicle exactly what we needed. The team at Bluecrane were really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

An outstanding, informative, and well-organized 13-day honeymoon!
We are so lucky we found Blue Cranes Safari! My husband and I normally plan our own travel, but since the trip was for our honeymoon, we decided to enlist the help of an operator. We chose Blue Cranes Safari because they were local, they customized an itinerary that magically fit our (very) long list of ideas and interests into 13 days, and Derek was friendly and easy to communicate with. They also were able to work with our budget, and hiring them was worth every penny.
Our guide Me-Gusto was one of the reasons the trip was so special. He was friendly and professional, passionate about Namibia, and truly a wealth of knowledge. Any question we had – whether it was about Namibia’s history, the birds & animals, the geology, and even the termites – he was able to answer! We loved hearing all of his stories, not just about Namibia, but about his life as a guide. He was a great photographer, and we are lucky that he was able to capture so many of our amazing memories of the trip.
Our itinerary was very ambitious, with jam-packed days. We were able to see Windhoek, Kalahari Desert, Sossuvlei, Walvis Bay/Swapkomund, Spitzkoppe, Damaraland, and Etosha. And while we wished we could have stayed at some of the lodges longer (2 nights was the longest we ever stayed), we appreciated the need to keep moving in order to see everything. Me-Gusto kept our spirits high and we were able to adjust when needed on-the-ground. All of the visits and activities were inspiring and informative, and in retrospect we’re glad we were able to see so much of Namibia!
We would recommend Blue Cranes Safari to all our friends and family. And while we would say it was a trip of a lifetime - we are already talking about the next time we’ll be back!

Excellent tour operator!!!
Derek was attentive to our scheduling requests and set up the trip just as we requested. Sedney - our guide - was amazing. He was polite, kind, prompt, organized and knowledgeable. He also went out of him way to ensure that we had a good time.

Excellent service
Really a 5-star service provided by Eric and our guide Sammy, both are super nice and knowledgeable. We spent 11 days driving around with Sammy, without him this trip would not be enjoyable if I had to do all that he did and with no prior knowledge.
Lodgings are ranked from over-the-top (first and last) to great to fine, again, we did not have to do anything, Eric did all the bookings etc.
When we are back to Namibia, and we will be, I will certainly hire them again. Recommend 100%.

Efficient and professional
I booked our transfers in and around Namibia with Blue Crane Safaris. I was referred to Derek by a friend of mine who runs a tour company in South Africa. Derek replied immediately to my request for 3 private plane transfers and 1 road transfer. Derek offered advise regarding the flights and gave me all information and answered my questions quickly. Subsequent emails were all met with an efficient and quick reply. The transfers were great, all 3 pilots were professional and friendly. I am a little nervous in small planes but after the first flight my mind was put to rest and I really enjoyed the last 2 flights. Everything was on time and all departure times were well communicated to the lodges where we were staying. Thank you to Blue Crane Safaris for your great organisation and reliability. I will definitely use this company again when I travel to Namibia.

Excellent Windhoek to Victoria Falls Safari
Another amazing trip for me and a group of 8 friends with Blue Crane Safaris. For 13 days we visited Sossusvlei, Walvis Bay, Sandwich Harbour, Swakopmund, Spitzkoppe, Etosha National Park, Bwabwata National Park, Nkasa Rupara National Park (the last two in the Caprivi Strip) and Vitoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
This is my fourth trip organized by Blue Crane Safari and I already take their excellency for granted. I enjoy spending time in the bush with the principle guide Sedny and the camp hand Francis, who are already old friends of mine, we all had wonderful moments with the second guide Saari, as well. All of them work hard, fullfilling every demand that we had. I have had wonderful experience with other Blue Crane guides, as well (Seven, Gavin), so whoever you take, you just can not go wrong.
I will not go into description of the beautiful landscapes and great animal sightings that we had every step ot the way, whoever is looking for a safari in Namibia, already knows about these things.
As usual we took some nights at lodges and guesthoses and some camping, had the best of both worlds.
I would like also to thank the owner Derek for the excellent organization and planning skills, all trips with him are custom made, tailored to our specifications. He is not afraid to experiment - we have done safaris to places outside Namibia, as well - Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa. Already started planning next year safaris with Blue Crane and the only concern I have is that the good reviews will give them lots of guests and they may not have availability for us.
Another very important thing about this company is that Derek treats his guides and camphands really well - they sleep where we sleep and we all eat the same food on the same table.

Great option
If you are looking for a Namibia tour, you can't go wrong with Blue Crane.
I did an accommodated tour, so some details below might not apply to other kinds of tours, but the overall quality of Blue Crane should be valid for all kinds of tours.
Derek, the travel planner, was always very responsive, from the first contact until the days before the trip started. Emails were replied quickly and all questions answered. Our trip had to be postponed twice due to COVID, and this was handled seamlessly.
Once the trip started, everything went smoothly. Our driver/guide Me-Gusto was very knowledgeable, passionate about his work, helpful and patient, and this certainly contributed to a great trip.
The lodges and hotels were always good ones, and the lunch stops (or even bathroom breaks) were also carefully chosen.
One thing to be aware of is that the days are full: we always left the lodges at 8:00 or earlier, and generally would only arrive at the next accomodation shortly before dinner (and usually behind schedule - it seems the stops along the way end up taking more time than planned), so there isn't much downtime. It's a lot of driving (Namibia is a big country), but the roads are good (even the gravel ones) and our tour vehicle was comfortable enough.
