For us a memorable 23 day fully guided trip.
The booking process immediately gave us the feeling to be treated fairly (Angela thanks!). We didn't want to be riding too much, but especially enjoy.
Combination of safari, beach and culture. No mass tourism, but rather be in those places where you could really experience South Africa.
The alternation of safari, beach and culture was fantastic and in excellent balance.
We encourage everyone to take a guided tour, instead of driving and worrying, we enjoyed 23 days:
- no worries about food and drink, but enjoying a table in the middle of nature with your guide as waiter / cook. Surrounded by Hyena, Impala, Injala, warthog, monkeys, etc. A great sense of freedom.
- no worries about driving, but really enjoying the scenery
- no asphalt roads, only dirt roads (without a guide you just won't get there)
- no hassle with checking in and out, but enjoying the next moment
- you get to places where you would normally not come
- always in search of the big five instead of hearing the same thing in every park during the game drive
- picked up and be dropped off at the airport
- the guide is a true South African and speaks Dutch language (great for our 11 year old daughter).
- in-depth information about the country, culture, nature, etc. This will take you to understand and experience everything more intensely
- etc. etc. (Nick Thanks a lot!).
Big 5, swimming with dolphins and rays, eating with the locals, snorkeling in the coral, visiting a contemporary Zulu village (unforgettable), alternating Lodge and tent, change of scenery, etc. Every day another great experience!

South Africa's best, less touristic places (and therefore more special), friendly staff
Tailor Made Safaris is the best operator we've got so far. We booked a customized self-drive tour. They advised us the Elephant Coast, because the travel distances were not so big and most places were less touristic than Kruger National Park (therefore: more special!). The staff was very friendly and we got quick answers when we asked something. The personal touch is more than great! For example, before our journey we got a personal (not a mass product) photo book with our daily activities of our customized trip. Even the coordinates of all the destinations where mentioned. It's all about the small things and they surprised us in a positive way. Price / quality ratio is also very good. Highly recommended!

An unforgettable journey for the whole family. We enjoyed seeing the animals. Smell them, hear them and searching for them. And even touch them at the Elephant Interaction. Good variation between luxury and self-catering accommodations.

South Africa and Tailor Made Safaris are absolutely a marvellous combination for anyone!
Our three generations trip (two adolescents, two medium and two grandparents) to Africa last spring holiday was absolutely the best thing we have done in years. We visited various beautiful wildlifeparks such as Mkhuze Game Reserve, Tembe Elephant Park and Kruger Wildlife Park. Not to forget Milwana Wildlife Santuary in Swaziland.
We had booked a Self Drive Tour package at Tailor Made Safaris (TMS) and we can only say that everything we had previously discussed while planning our personal trip was arranged perfectly. A couple of weeks before we set off to SA we received the very thorough travel book in which our trip was explained from A to Z. It was filled with practical information about SA, beautiful pictures, the GPS coordinates of our accomodations and very useful information about the parks. The GPS navigation System was a blessing in finding our way around and the SA phone and SIM card enabled us to contact TMS if necessary (which was actually never). We loved spending several days at our chosen locations, really experiencing the parks and enjoying our holiday. We went on loads of guided tours as well and saw not just the big five, but an enormous amount of beautiful animals! Truly amazing! The booked accomodations varied from good to absolutely beautiful and were more than up to our standards. We had a great South Africa experience and we will certainly come back! With Tailor Made Safaris!

Amazing country, with wild nature and exotic and luxurious places
This was one of my favorite destinations until now. We did many activities (diving, snorkeling, boat trips, many game drives some on our own, village visit) and saw so many wild animals. We traveled only in a small part of South Africa Kwazulu-natal, but it was more than enough. It was an amazing experience very well organized at an affordable price. Our accommodations were part luxurious and part basic, which I think it is a perfect combination.

The best trip you can do in that area
A few years ago I was involved as tour guide in Africa for an italian travel company(Viaggi Voltaire).I have been traveling all over Africa (with adventure safaries ,trekking etc..)visiting most of its countries.In other words I have some experience in African trips.This is to say that travelling with Tailored Made Safari was above my expectations.
We were two couple in their 70th who did not want to join organized travels and in the meantime not to have too much adventure.I think that the approach of Tailor Made Safari was what we needed.Everything was excellent:communications,service,assistance and a little adventure.Very good job.

A wonderful holiday, they thought of every detail in our trip!
WoW what aan amazing holiday! We are used to arranging everything ourselves, but on this trip to south africa, tailor made safari's made our trip cheaper, more relax and they made à perfect combination of accommodations and activities. We had selfdrive safari's, dolphin safari, beach, and guided safari's, so a lot of variety. Adventurous activities and luxurious accomodations. Our stay in mozambique, tembe safari logde and thanda private game reserve where the highlights!

Another great experience with Tailor Made Safaris!
For the second time we booked a Journey in the Northern part of South Africa. Together with friends we decided to go this time for the 'Kruger Tour'. Two years ago we did the tour in the north-eastern area (Durban region to Mozambique). Like two years ago everything went smooth; we had some extra requests in our Joruney and Claire took care of that in a wonderful way. We are very greatful for that. In almost three weeks we've been to nine different places and lodges or tents and they all were fantastic. We had a great time!
