Quality Safari Experience with Fantastic Value, and Great Customer Service
Right from the start I had high hopes for this operator be due to the reviews and I can say but that I was most definitely not disappointed.
The communication was excellent throughout. They were very quick to set my mind at ease at every stage. Definitely lived up to my expectations. Abdallah and Ubezi were very helpful, patient and very professional in all their dealings. We even popped in to see them at their office in Stone Town.
Payment was made via international bank transfer and went very smoothly.
The itenineary was adapted and changed every time we added something or changed something to the trip. And we made loads of changes. Thankfully, the team were at hand with their expert local knowledge and expertise to make things work. We even booked all of our transfers and flights through the agency too, all went without any issues.
The team also selected ideal accommodation for us, and ensured that it met our specification.
The Safari itself was great, our guide Abraham was very knowledgeable and ensured that we got to see and experience all we had hoped to. Our vehicle had an issue but he was able to get it up and running without any hiccups in 15 mins. All the meals provided on the trips were nice and added to the experience. We most definitely enjoyed our Safari, which consisted of the Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. All parks/reserves were amazing.
All in all. I would most definitely reccomend Uhuru Travels for anyone thinking of Safari.

Average, not personal and providing misleading information.
Uhuru travels had given name and no. of person would be our guide and driver for 3 days. They changed the person without even informing us. It seemed Uhuru has sub contracted our trip to someone else. There was no personal contact. The driver himself did not know who he worked for.
Did not get value for money on this trip.

Posted on Oct 26, 2016Dear Abbas,
Thanks so much for your reviews though its also misleading to the other clients about Uhuru Travel. Why misleading? We did provide you will all the details of your safari to Mikumi. Unfortunately you show signs of problem on the mid way when having lunch the driver guide called me and inform me that you do not have any information of about your safari. Why did you agreed to pay safari and be ready to enjoy it? What convince you to pay if you did not have any information? Mr. Nestor was together with the other driver looked into your phone and the program was in your phone!! They were 2 Jeeps on that day and all were our Driver Guides. I am 100% sure you did enjoy your safari and everything went well. We appreciate your business to us.

Kenya-several parts of Tanzania-including Zanzibar WOW! Always on the go but worth it.
First, the communication with Abdallah was key! He always got back to me and always eased my mind! We had 4 different drivers since we were in four different areas. The Masai Mara in Kenya. This is were we chose to go to one of the many Masai Villages that exist in Kenya and in Tanzania. This was very informative but also helpful to the village monetarily. Yes, we made sure we didn't buy a bunch of carvings or jewelry before hand so that we could buy it from the Masai Village we visited :) We then drove to the Tanzanian Border. From there we spent time in Tent Camps in the Serengeti which is a must. This really gives you the true flavor of the Safari because every other place you stay in will probably be in a lodge of sorts. While you are in the Serengeti, I strongly suggest that you do the Serengeti Balloon Safari. It is a bit of cost but worth every penny. Champagne and Breakfast on the open grasslands after the balloons land. They even have Loos with views (so there are toilets!) Something you will always remember! We then drove to Ngorongoro which is where the Crater lives. This would be one of the only places that you can still find a Rhino. We did see a Rhino but he was very far away and sleeping but we still tell everyone we saw the BIG 5 :) From there we drove to Lake Manyara and the to Tarangire. We flew from Arusha to Dar Es Salaam to go to the Selous Park. All the parks we visited had different scenery and animals but what is important about Selous is that they still allow Game Hunting in parts of the Park (not the part you will be in if you are only shooting animals with your camera). They allow Game Hunting for the revenue but if this continues they will kill off their revenue so when you go to this park on safari to look at the animals instead of killing them you are helping to end the killing by paying not to kill. So spread the word! Selous is cool because you can go off the driving trail to find what you want, unlike the other parks! But, make no mistake, we had seen every animal there was to offer in multiples before we ever got to Selous. If you go to Selous, I strongly suggest that you fly into Selous as apposed to flying into Dar es Salaam and the driving to Selous Park. At least one way. In fact, if you can afford it, I would drive in and fly out of as many places as you can. Other wise there is a lot of driving and it is all very bumpy roads. We did over 3000 miles and it wears on you. You should at least try and drive one way so you can see the culture. We ended our trip in Beautiful Zanzibar. Some people start their trip here but I would suggest ending it here. Because even thought the Safari thing is just wonderful, you need to relax and Zanzibar is the perfect place to do it!!! We did a Safari Blue boat trip, where you snorkel and eat good food. This was memorable! I would say another must do :) In the end, everyone of our drivers and guides were extremely nice, calm and on time. It was a fabulous trip!!!

Great local tour operator - Excellent experience with guide Mr. Abraham
Great experience to book Safari. Communication with Abdullah through whatsapp to make the changes to hotels, places to visit, etc to design the safari that we wanted for our family (two adults and three kids). No problem with payment.
It was a 9 day safari through the north of the country (tarangire, Arusha, manyara, ngorongoro, Serengeti). Hotels were great. Highly recommend Acacia Farm lodge in Karatu and Serengeti Acacia tented Camp. Everything was as expected and better.
The guide/ driver was very nice with our family. Excellent driver (though the road is tough, he made everything easy) and knowledgeable about nature and animals. We saw all the big five and had beautiful encounters with leopards, cheetahs, lions,... Abraham was very kind with the kids and helpful.
Car somewhat old (Toyota land cruiser), but was ok and had no problem through our journey. Also you should provide a uniform to guides/drivers.

Memorable Safari
We had a wonderful 14 day safari including 4 days in Zanzibar. It turned out to be just the 2 of us with our own driver in an excellent 4 x 4, the accomodation was superb, all private ensuite. The Wildlands Safari Camp in Serengeti was just like luxury camping in the wild with wildlife right outside, not to be missed. Must mention a special thank you to Abraham our driver who worked hard to make sure we had a good time.

Mikumi Nat Park
We booked a safari with them to Mikumi Nat Park ,from first enquiry to going on the safari the help we got from Uhuru was first class .We booked to stay at Stanly Copje camp and again this was a great place to stay.
Only down side is the time it takes to get to the park they say about 4hours it's more like 7 hours ,but still had a great safari lots of lions ect. Would use this firm if we go back to Zanzibar

Posted on Jun 28, 2016Thanks for nice feedback and nice reviews. I am just want to correct one thing, from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park its about 310.00 kilometers and minimum time normally its up to 4 hours with safari Jeep. But if you drive slowly then you can take maximum 5 hours. It can not take 7 hours! unless you stop many times on the way purposely and you choose to drive leisurely.

3 day Luxery Safari
Good communication. On time for everything. Guide was great and a pleasure when driving us around. There was a problem with the truck but he fixed it within a 15 minutes and we were back to looking for animals again. Would recommend this company for a future safari.

Our Tour guide Nestor was very friendly and knowledgable.
The Safari was great and we had the best tour guide ever. We saw thousands of animals and our guide Nestor always tried to find the best spots to look for new ones.
The lodge where we stayed for the 2 nights (Tan Swiss Lodge) was not nice. Horrible rooms and most horrible food.

For a lifetime
We started our tour with a wonderful flight from Zanzibar to Kilimanjaro-Airport/Tanzania. Everything was perfectly organized, the driver, the good hotel in Arusha and next morning the 4by4 car with the very professional driver and guide Abraham and his new colleague Tobi, a volunteer. There were so many things to see and to hear, especially the very good explanations of our guides. They knew everything about politics, economy, botanic, animals, natives. And the Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti, Lake Natron. We saw all the animals we wanted to see, we slept in cozy tents and hotels, had good food and very special surprises like a bath in a waterfall in Maasai country.
All in all it was simply perfect. The very best driver. We felt very safe. The very best schedule by the Uhurus. An adventure for a lifetime. We plan now to go back next year and to use the help of Abdallah and his Uhuru-Team again, the firendly Mr. Abraham, Mr. Loy etc.
Thank you very very much!
