Experience of a lifetime!
5/5

We booked a 3-day luxury Serengeti experience with Uhuru, and it could have not been more perfect! Everything was not only as agreed, but way better! Special thanks goes to Abdallah, who had the patience to sort everything out after I had lost my phone for a day, to Pandu the taxi driver who was so punctual and nice, and of course to Joseph who drove us around in Serengeti for 3 days, telling countless stories about animals and their behavior, and who is definitely one of the best drivers in the world! :o)
We had a magical experience of a lifetime!
P.S. Our accommodation in Serengeti Melia was amazing, the views from our balcony breathtaking!

Magical experience at Tanzania
5/5

Just returned from Tanzania. I climbed Kilimanjaro, did safari at Serengati and visited Selous, all arranged by Uhuru. It was an experience of life time. Highly recommended.

Timing: now is a rare opportunity to see the vast and beautiful parks in Tanzania, teeming with animals, without the usual high season tourist traffic. The morning I was at Ngorongoro park we were the only vehicle for 2 hours. Later I saw a  picture of usual high season , bumper to bumper traffic with dozens of jeeps crammed together. I feel so lucky to be able to focus entirely on nature and not fellow visiting jeeps. The animals are very relaxed right now. I was able to watch two lion cubs for close to an hour as they happily ignored me and practiced hunting with palm leaves next to napping mommy and auntie. We quietly observed how one cub was always the first to get out of hiding, and find new objects to play, while the other cub readily run to mommy on any new source of noise like two children with different temperament. A rather different experience from usual high season, where up to a dozen cars line up for a quick pic with the lion families.

Travel safety: Tanzania did an admirable job this year navigating the pandemic. There was strict and effective procedure earlier in the spring. Now there are no new cases that I hear of; business are back to normal and school are open. People wash hands before entering business (water buckets ubiquitous on streets), but otherwise don't wear masks outside of airports. Personally I felt as safe, and certainly more relaxed than being in the US on pandemic concern. In broader terms, Tanzania has stable political structure and a growing economy; people are peaceful and friendly, the roads and facilities are well developed on Northern tourist circuit. It's easy to travel. In fact, I am eagerly looking forward to bringing kids and parents over next time.

Service by Uhuru: solid delivery of a 3-week itinerary. I was provided all the key ingredients for successful safari: exceptional guides, reliable vehicle, and fast response to questions before and during the trip. Can't ask for more. In particular the guide quality at Uhuru are consistently impressive- very important since you will be spending entire days with the guide who ensures your safety and shapes your experience. I feel lucky to work with the Uhuru guides and it's a major part of my positive experience on this trip.

At Kilimanjaro my guide was very focused on getting me hydrated and go slow to prevent any high altitude sickness, he check blood oxygen every day. He was thoroughly professional about safety.

The Serengati safari ranks among best travel experiences in my life, after visiting over 40 countries, thanks to no small part to my guide Meshalu. He  is a soft-speaking Masai who always wears a calm smile. Meshalu has that rare combination of sharp eyes for wildlife, good knowledge as a car mechanic (more important than you would think), and genuine care for clients. We found every animal species there is to be  seen on Serengati, and the unexpected bonus of a wild dog pack supposed to be extinct from the park. At meal time Meshalu has entertaining stories to tell about the Masai culture and wild life. We had a few unexpected moments in the bush that only added to the sense of adventure: at Lobo we were the only campers, as the sun set a lone old bull buffalo walked up close to camp. These big animals has a reputation for being unpredictable and more dangerous than lion (who are simply too lazy to deal with human). We moved into the kitchen with concrete wall, and took turns sip tea while watching the direction of the buffalo meandering in a glowing landscape under orange African sunset. The bull eventually left and I was escorted back to tent. It was thrilling without any sense of insecurity since I felt in good hands. On another drive we were about to turn back when Meshalu decided to take a bit extra road and check out some rocks- a whole lion pride was waiting there, watching us with calm and intense curiosity that only cats can do. Money just can't buy magical moments like this. I can't wait to go back and experience it again.

The best experience of our trip!
5/5

Margaret helped us find and organize all the details of our two-day safari to Selous in September 2019. The plane travel, the hotels and even our guide for the safari were perfect, they took care of the details to the maximum.

The best experience of our trip, thank you very much to Margaret for helping us to have everything on time, even with the last minute contingencies!

Great safari seeing the Big 5 and more!
5/5

My girlfriend and I booked a 13 day Safari and Beach vacation through Uhuru and it was amazing to say the least. From the get go Margaret from Uhuru was attentive and really listened to what we wanted to do as well as our budget. We did a 6 day Safari with a private car guide and cook with tenting accommodation. Our guide Abrahm was outstanding and managed to get up close and personal with not only the Big 5 but many many more animals during a time when other guides were struggling to find them. In addition to the big 5 we saw cheetahs, Jackals, Hippos and even a Honey Badger! The camp sites were primitive but more than adequate and our cook made tasty food the whole time. Our Beach vacation in Zanzibar was also great and the perfect way to finish our trip. You will not go wrong with Uhuru tours and Margaret planning your trip

Outstanding People | Once-in-a-Lifetime Safari Experience
5/5

We are a family of four (2 adults, 2 teenagers) with a fair amount of international travel experience. We typically do all of the research, preparation, and leg work ourselves but for this trip chose to entrust everything to Uhuru; they did not disappoint. The professionalism and prompt / regular communication provided by the Uhuru staff was excellent throughout; from our initial exploratory emails to our return home.

We enjoyed a phenomenal, 14-day safari through several game parks in Kenya and Tanzania. At our guide's suggestion we opted for boxed lunches (and sometimes breakfast) to maximize our time in the parks on game drives. Not only did we see the 'Big 5' up close and personal, but we had the rare privilege of seeing a total of 66 different big cats (a family favorite)!

We simply cannot say enough about the quality of our guides / drivers. Their knowledge and local experience was second to none and by day two each felt like an extended member of the family; Asante Sana John and Mechalu!

We would highly recommend Uhuru for a family safari adventure...!

Wonderful experience!
5/5

Difficult to describe in a few words this incredible safari. Excellent organisation ...thak you Uhuru Travel agency. We've seen impalas, hippos, zebras, elephants, crocodile, buffalos, king lion and many other animals in the middle of a beautiful nature. Fantastic the location at Bastian Camp.
We asked to modify our tour with final destination Kiberashi instead of Dar...this gave us the opportunity to discover more about this wonderful country (Tanzania) out from touristic circuits.
Really special thanks to our guide, Mr. HENDRICK N MINJALE ...great guide, fantastic driver (cannot imagine how long and in which difficult road conditions he drove), ALWAYS helpful and open to our request. Hendrick, thank you for your fantastic human appoach, we are very grateful.

a very good safari experience at a reasonable price
5/5

It was very good safari. We managed to see all big 5 and all big cats in Serengeti (lions, leopards, Cheetah and serval). Benson was very knowledgeable and experienced and knew where to find animals and big cats. Also, on the first night we stayed in a lodge which was supposed to be tent. Overall it was a very good value for money.
