An Amazing, Unforgettable Experience
4/5

I was very happy with the overall planning process. I wanted to combine three excursions in one trip - a camping safari, Mt Kilimanjaro climb and Zanzibar beach time. East Africa Wild Adventures was great to provide me with several options varying in experience and price range involving the three excursions to ensure I could appropriately assess the best experience for me. The staff went so far as to inquire and find me a volunteer position for a week as I wanted to include that as part of my trip as well. Every request I had was accommodated with enthusiasm.

The logistics of the trip were very smooth. Most importantly, I felt safe and cared for every step of the way. As a solo female traveller, this was of utmost importance. I had a dedicated team for every excursion who was very helpful and attentive.

The safari was one of the best experiences of my life. My guide was very good at spotting wildlife and driving our car! You could tell he had lots of experience and loved what he did. He made sure I was comfortable and I had complete discretion as to how much time I wanted to spend in any one place.

I really appreciated my tailored experience in Tanzania and would gladly work with East Africa Wild Adventures for my future travels in Africa.

A memorable journey, warthogs and all
4/5

We chose East Africa Wild Adventures based on its excellent reviews and because Alym (the owner) is based near us in Vancouver. That afforded us the chance to meet with him to plan our trip in person, and to get a feel for him and his company. He made a very good impression - both his in-depth knowledge, and his candour when discussing the details. His personal touch was self-evident, which came in handy during our Tanzania trip. There is a tremendous amount of logistical work that goes into a week-long safari, and every day unfolded smoothly. Or at least it would have, had we not run into a major problem with our vehicle on the second day of the safari. Efforts were made to fix it, but the problem persisted the next day. We then texted Alym (middle of the night for him) and he immediately dispatched a new vehicle that arrived the following day. We were grateful and relieved, as the driver and the Arusha-based EAW manager seemed content to continue trying for a repair. With the new vehicle, no more frustrations and back to smooth sailing. We really enjoyed our driver, Emmanuel, who was knowledgeable, flexible, and engaged. The accommodations were first-rate, both in the parks and our beach hotel in Zanzibar, where we spent the last three days of our trip. One piece of advice - if you go during the summer, if does get quite cool overnight in the Serengeti. If you don't like the cold, bring some warm night clothes (and maybe a heating pad). And enjoy the spectacular wildlife and scenery - it doesn't get any better than this. I can certainly recommend East Africa Wild Adventures to help you make it happen.

An excellent experience overall, a little disappointed with Zanzibar
4/5

East Africa Wild Adventures organised our group's trip to Tanzania this summer and did a fantastic job - the guides, hotels and feral itinerary was well planned and executed. We stayed at the Arusha Coffee Lodge, the Neptune Crater Lodge, Four Seasons Serengeti and then in Zanzibar at Le Gemma Diamond. All our internal flights/game drives were well planned and the guides were accommodating and willing to cater to our individual preferences. The last hotel in Zanzibar, however, let us down and when we made our thoughts on the service and level of accommodation known to East Africa Adventures - the hotel was informed immediately and they did try and remedy the situation - unfortunately the property itself is not of the calibre to be part often Leading Hotels of the World group and by the time hotel management responded to our complaints (via East Africa Adventures) it was a little late to redeem our impression of the hotel, its service and the staff.
