Nice safari, but please stick to your promises.
3/5

The safari was nice but we do have some complaints. Karibu safaris promised us we would be with 7 people in the van at the most (they also say so on the website). But we were with 8 people (+ driver). The van was crowded. Luckely everyone was really good company and so we all worked it out, but that was definitely not because of the driver. The driver didn't even say anything about it, as if it was completely normal. They say on the website that you get free water during the drives. The driver bought 12 bottles of half a liter water. For 9 persons! We were on a 5-day safari and had to buy our own water in the camp shops for 4 days. It's not that the water is like a huge cost or something, but just keep true to your words please. Overall we had a nice safari, the hotels and camps were good, we saw a lot of animals and we had a good atmosphere (but that was more thanks to the other tourists in our group rather than our driver).

I wanted to thank the whole crew of Karibu safaris for making our vacation a memorable one. I am very glad I came accross your website from an Internet search engine. Your company’s customer service was superb. Thanks again for making our vacation a memorable one.

From my first submission of an enquiry with Karibu Safari's in Kenya, I was contacted promptly and made aware of what was on offer and the booking was made simple. The email communication was great. They also helped us with an airport shuttle and overnight hotel stay before the safari began.
Unfortunately, we were not introduced to our driver/guide on the first day, and I believe that this is an important part of the whole Safari. The second issue I would like to raise, is that the drivers should be more personal (eg getting to know the people on the van), and informative advising us of a comprehensive daily itineracy and also offering more information regarding the animals we encounter and some history/knowledge on the routes we take during the day and the places of interest. The driver should also have introduced us at the hotels that we stayed at.
Overall I would recommend Karibu to my friends & book again with them

At the beginning we were not sure on the safari but our booking was handled by Robert and he is very efficient and always available. I wonder if he sleeps? As anytime I sent him my query he would immediately reply even if was middle of the night. He made it so simple that everything for us went hassle free. Also I would like to mention our guide Joseph who made all the best possible efforts to find perfect sighting spots and the incredible experience we had watching the great migration. All the efforts put by both these guys are really commendable and I would highly recommend them.

Thanks again

I haven't like this tour operator
2/5

We booked a five days safari to Masai Mara, Nakuru and Naivasha. The driver , and he didnt take us to see the migration. It happened the 4th of August. Later, a person who was in Masai Mara that day, said me that all tourists were seeing the migration. Instead it, he "sell" us a "walking" to see Mara river. the price (the tip) was 5 dollars. Besides, he was very dangerous driving.

Hi Izaskun,

Sorry for your experience, i take the time to ask the driver guide who were all in Masai Mara on Day 2 when you had the fullday game drive upto the Mara river am told that the migration crossed for less than an hour while the driver who was carrying you was told on radio that there was a killing on the hillside(lemek area) so he changed directions to try and make it for the kill and after he started driving faster( thats when he was overspeeding to make it on time)and when he arrived at the Mara River the crossing for the day was over and he called a ranger to walk you to the river bank on the lookout area to see the crocs and hippo.

Sorry about what happened and i am personally doing my own investigation and if the driver is found to be on the wrong I will PUNISH him accordingly.

Thanks for your honest feedback

Me and my husband booked a 4-day Masai Mara safari and we had the best honeymoon! Everything was beyond expectations. Love it!! Robert was patient, prompt response to my emails, provided us with superior service to meet our satisfaction. He's been a big help! The tour guides were knowledgeable and very easy to communicate with. We saw all of the Big Five except for Rhinos, which was a perfect reason we have to visit Lake Nakuru next time going on a safari. We also saw the incredible scene of a large herd of wildebeests and zebras crossing the Mara River, breathtaking! Last but not least, the accommodation was pleasant and comfortable. With no doubt, we highly recommend Karibu Safaris, will definitely come back!

This was a wonderful experience that exceeded expectations.

I wanted a more rugged experience and that is exactly what I got. Two young adult male grandchildren had as much as they could eat and loved it all. The animals were plentiful and the guides all worked together to make sure we had a good experience, yet were mostly respectful of the animals in their habitat. There was a lot of driving on this 6 day, and we should have been advised that the flamingos were not at Nukuru. Having to transit Nairobi frequently was annoying. If there were some way to plan around that, it would make the tour more enjoyable. I, however, was thrilled to see the snows of Kilimanjaro just one morning. Amboseli was probably my favorite park. Aroni, our guide, was very informative, friendly, and patient with the young folk. Nicely done. Asante sana

Highly knowledgeable, very engaging, infectious in her enthusiasm, and nothing was too much trouble.

We traveled with workmates to Masai Mara for 4 days and 3 nights.
They provided a wonderful cultural experience at every level. The accommodation exceeded expectations. It was massive, modern and the pool beautiful. We were all happy and weighed in heavier on departure.
The staff are really what made this destination for us. Always willing to help and serve, yet remaining discreet when required. They were phenomenal. Especially the driver guide Mr. Arony was the best. Massive reality check on returning home!! It truly was sad to leave our new friends.

Just finished safari-I expected a nice holiday but we got much more. Fantastic atmosphere and unforgettable experiences. Our guide-Arony- during the tour told us many interesting stories about living in Kenya, He shared with us his experience regarding habits of wildlife. He knew about wildlife really everything. He was always on time and always in good mood and smiling.

Alex and I want to thank you for the well designed and well organized trip you put together for us. We made it to all 5 National Parks in 8 Days and accomplished what we went for. Saw lots of animals including the big five. We gave your name and company out to some folks we met along the way as we were so pleased. Someday, we would like to do the coastal part of Kenya and will contact you when and if we decide to do so.
