Fantastic tour! Sorted from door to door!
We had an amazing tour for our mount Kenya hike. We were a team of 5 and had 6 people takin care of us. Everyone is so friendly and they go above and beyond to make sure you can complete the hike but to your level. The team goes ahead and a couple of guides stay with you. They put a lot of work in. Views were stunning and plenty of food!
The pick up and drop off service is good, they use public's transport but make sure everything runs smoothly for you even if one of the team has a very complicated detour to make...

5* safari in terms of the nature and 3* in terms of organisation
The natural reserves and all parks we visited were amazing, lots of wild animals and beautiful African savannah and nature! Highly recommended! 5 OUT OF 5!! As well our guide was a very helpful person and was sharing a lot about the nature, animals and local life. This was very helpful during the safari. On the other side the organisation of the trip was 3 out of 5. We had problems with every accommodation we stayed like no warm water or no water at all, electricity shutting, bathroom and sewage flooding etc. In every place we had to spend lots of time fixing all of this instead of enjoying the rest after long hours of safari. As well some of the activities were not super well organised like visiting the Hell's gate park, it was very unclear till the moment we arrived there, that we had to pay extra for the bicycles to go through the park, as well to pay extra if we wanted to go to the canyon in that area. As well we were highly advised by our guide to go in the boat tour at Lake Naivasha. It was operated by "The Savannah park" boat company. The sales lady at that place described the trip where we would see giraffes in the 5-10meters distance, almost feeding-from-the-hand experience, as well see a big local snake, lots of other promised things. We paid $100 extra for that trip and we received only 25mins walk within 200 meters distance next to the local cafe with a loud music in it and saw literally few zebras, antelopes and nothing which was promised by that sales lady. We came back from that trip to the sales office and explained the whole situation to the owner of that place and he didn't want to meet us mid-way and compensate us this awful experience for which we paid $100. I WOULD HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED TO USE "THE SAVANNAH PARK" BOAT COMPANY AS THEY MISLEAD AND SELL YOU BAD EXPERIENCE FOR LOTS OF MONEY!!!
Besides of all these organizational problems the safari trip was amazing and memorable for a long time -).

A Memorable Mount Kenya Adventure
Our journey to Mount Kenya and the climb to Point Lenana was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we were picked up at Nairobi Airport, everything was seamlessly organized. At the office, we met our guide, Jimmy, whose expertise and warm personality set the tone for the adventure. We then made our way to Nanyuki and the Sirimon Gate via local bus, where we were introduced to the rest of our incredible team—our porters and cook—who played a crucial role in making this trip so enjoyable.
Our trek began with a hike to Old Moses Camp, though the tarmac road leading there was less exciting for hiking. The next day, we continued to Shipton’s Camp, where we were treated to breathtaking views of the towering 1,000-meter walls of Mount Kenya’s highest peaks. Along the way, we passed through a variety of climate zones, each with its own distinct vegetation. Jimmy shared fascinating insights about the different climbing routes to various peaks, adding depth to our experience.
Thanks to our strong pace, we decided to start our summit attempt at 3:30 AM the following morning. Though we set off as the last group, we reached the summit as the second group, arriving 30 minutes before sunrise. This gave us some time to explore the ridges around the peak before witnessing a truly spectacular sunrise, with distant views of Mount Kilimanjaro. While the summit can be quite popular due to its accessibility, the experience was still magical.
But the highlight of the day was yet to come. We descended from nearly 5,000 meters to below 3,000 meters in just 25 km. Despite expecting sore knees, the gradual descent and the support of our porters made it a smooth and enjoyable trek. As we made our way down, we passed through every possible climate zone, from the alpine glacier regions to the lush rainforest—a truly remarkable journey through nature’s diversity.
Overall, we can highly recommend this tour, especially with Jimmy as a guide. He not only organized everything flawlessly but also enriched our experience with his deep knowledge of the area. On a personal level, we also enjoyed learning about his daily life, making the trip even more meaningful. We would also like to give special recognition to the rest of the team, whose hard work and dedication provided us with a level of comfort we’re not accustomed to, as we usually carry everything ourselves in the mountains. If you plan to visit, we strongly suggest requesting Jimmy, especially if you’re interested in multi-pitch climbing routes, which we hope to try in the future.
For those considering this trek, we highly recommend bringing your own tent. The huts can be crowded and noisy at night, and sleeping in a tent offers a much more peaceful experience. As we gained a lot of altitude in a short time, we did experience mild altitude sickness, so if you’re sensitive, you might want to choose a route with a slower ascent.
Back in Nairobi, we were also impressed by the excellent service from the Karibu Safari team. A wonderful woman quickly arranged our transport to Tanzania and even accompanied us there, making our transition smooth and hassle-free.
This was a truly incredible journey, and we can’t wait to return for more adventures!
