Incredible experience
4/5

I would like give them a 5 in the rating but there was a few things that may be better. I start to thank Robert from Karibu that helped us the first night staying at his home and breakfast only 4 hours between the arriving and the start of the journey. We had a guide Maxwell. He was great and wanted us to see everything and very close to the animals. He drove us in the safe way people drive in Kenya. He explained us which animals we had in front and stopped every time we asked him. With patience we could see a lot of animals and in the first row of the show!!! During the journey our schedule was changed and we pointed out that it was not really what we had in the beginning. They tried to give us the best service however it was too much trip for us getting back from the border to Naivasha and back to the border. I do appreciate their help but if you go through the planning again with the company is the best advice I can give, checking the hotels that were agreed on the beginning and if there is any chance let you know. I do recommend Karibu and Maxwell. They can make your trip interesting in a beautiful country as Kenya.

My most memorable birthday trip and a tick off my bucket-list!!!
5/5

I highly recommend "Karibu Safaris In Kenya Company" simply because their package price is reasonable. The team was lead by Robert, who was very welcoming and accomodating with all of my queries before booking. Everything was clear before I set off. I found out that Karibu has much more to offer during my 5-day trip. Their drivers were very knowledgeable of the areas where specific animals stay inside the Maasai Mara reserve, so I was very happy that I was able to see all the Big Five. My drivers were Evans and Isaac (Maasai Mara), and Hatim who drove me to Lake Nakuru ( i think i spelled his name wrong) the guy I gave a bottle of red wine (it was not full anymore because it was what i had for my birthday). Also many thanks to the last driver (i didnt catch his name) who dropped me at the Karibu office to catch my taxi to the airport. I am specially very grateful to Evans and Robert for going out of the way to help me get a new SD memory card for my camera. I didn't realize i forgot mine only to find out when i landed in nairobi. It was too early and stores were closed at the time when we set off for Maasai Mara. I had no pictures on my first day of game drive, but Evans managed to get Robert to buy me one in Nairobi and have it sent to Maasai Mara via another driver the following day. I will forever be thankful and will never forget your kindness. Thank you also to Peter, my driver from nairobi to airport, for allowing me to stop by a souvenir shop and the driver (again i forgot his name) who picked me up from the airport. All drivers were very careful and attentive to our needs (including toilet breaks). Big thanks to all for driving us safely to and from the different places. You guys rock!!! Driving is not easy if it means doing it for more than 8 hrs straight in a day. I have also met so many people from different walks of life through the Karibu package option i chose, where i joined a group of other solo Travellers. I made many new friends with this and it is an experience i will forever treasure. I hope to be back and see more of Kenya!

Caught all the big 5, thanks to our experienced driver/guide
5/5

First of all, Robert is very prompt in asking all my question regarding the tour (took the 5 days Masai Mara tour). Had many changes, but he was able to accommodate to it. As we missed our flight early in the morning, plans were changed and Robert was able to change our itinerary at the very last minute (I had to email him in the wee hour, and he arranged everything quickly).
Our driver/guide, Arony, is definitely the best! He is very patient and experienced! We were a small group of 6, and each one of us were comfortable in the van, especially with the Long drive. He explained to us all the different types of animals in Masai Mara, and because of his fast and good driving and sharp eyes, we managed to see 4/5 big5 in just 1 day! Not to mention, we also manage to witness first hand when the lion hunt a wildebees (we were the first at the scene)t, all thanks to him!! I cannot explain how special that moment is when we were watching the lion hunting on the wildebeest! He is always trying his best to make sure that we get to see up close of the animals. I have to say, he is probably our lucky charm that we are able to witness all these amazing moments!
Tents were basic but the people at the camp were nice and friendly! With the price you pay, don't expect good tent or food. But everything was good because of the people around that makes it comfortable for us.
Lastly, got to see the last big 5, Rhinos, in Lake Nakuru. Abit disappointed with the flamingo, but totally understand why there isn't much left there, due to the heavy rainfall which happened 2 years ago which destroyed some parts of the lake.
Nonetheless, we had an amazing time with Arony and would totally recommend the tour to anyone who is up for aan adventure with basic needs.

And big thanks to Robert, Arony and everyone on the team!!

A breathtaking experience
5/5

First of all, I would like to thank our amazing driver and guide mr Raymond. because of him we had an incredible safari and very close up experience with the big five. Not only is Raymond very knowledge of the park, but he is also very well connected with his colleagues and as result of that we were in the front row and saw a lot of animals. we were able to take great photos too. This safari has been years in the making for me and my family and Raymond made it the best most memorable experience. I would highly recommend Karibu safari in Kenya.

A great experience!
5/5

As a solo female traveller, I was very nervous coming to Kenya on my own, but I had a great experience with Karibu safari. I booked a 4 day tour of Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru, but they organised a hotel (after40 hotel which was very nice.) and guide for the day before and after the tour. They also collected and dropped me to the airport. In the lead up to the tour Robert was great at answering all my questions.

The tour itself was great. Our guide John was very knowledgeable and I was very pleased with all the accomodation etc. During the tour I moved to another van, as the rest of my group was not going to the lake, but this all ran very smoothly and all the driver/guides were great. On the last day of my tour I started to feel sick, but the guide James was very understanding and made sure I saw a doctor.

Overall it was a great experience, and great value for money compared to other tour organisations. I would use Karibu safaris if I was back in Kenya and would recommend them to my friends.

Professional and trustworthy
5/5

The whole process from booking through payment and the trip itself was excellent. Our guide John was very competent and helpful, and had everything under control even though different people had different schedules. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would recommend Karibu to anyone.

A driver guide can make a safari trip be amazing: Wnjau (Animal) is just great!
4/5

The experience of 7 days of safari has been very positive, we have enjoyed it a lot and we had a great time. The only thing we did not like is that water was included in the price of the safari and we didn't see those bottles arrive, it seems that no one had them. They only gave us 3 litres for 2 people for the whole week ... Everything else perfect, very happy!

Very enjoyable and educational
5/5

I made this trip with my brother.

Our driver Maxwell was great. He really made the effort to show us all the interesting things. He knew a lot and explained a lot. The cars are slightly old and can be at times crowded, but you'd be surprised how well Maxwell can handle it.

The transfer from the hotel and airport was smooth. My brother's luggage was delayed but the company brought it to us. We also had a some confusion at the end of the trip for transfer to Mombasa, but they made very good effort to correct it. I would suggest that you pay close attention to the transfers yourself.

Overall, I think this is a great option if you want affordable but great safari.

Amazing experience
4/5

Masai Mara - 5*
Lake Nakuru - 5*
Amboseli - 2* (in spite of the park being amazing)

As previously arranged with the agency, a driver was in the airport to pick us up and to take us to the safari van in Nairobi to meet our driver Kenn and proceed to Masai Mara. In Masai Mara the overall experience was amazing. In Lake Nakuru the experience was also great and had a night in a nice budget hotel. Regarding Amboseli, we arrived there in the night of the 4th day. They gave us the last tent they had. Unfortunately, the conditions were not acceptable. The tent had a huge rip, the bathroom leaking water and the whole tent full of mosquitoes. We had to ask for another tent and a cleaner tent without bathroom was provided. It was the worse night in the whole safari and the reason why we don't submit 5 stars. The next day we went to the park (very nice), saw the mount Kilimanjaro from the camp in the end of afternoon (great view!) and we were provided with a tent with much better conditions (but still, the bed was quite broken in the middle). Here, we would like to put a nice word to our driver Kenn that made an effort for us to get the best tent! Unfortunately probably someone else had to stay in the tent we rejected the previous day. The agency has the responsibility to pressure the camp management to provide and guarantee the necessary conditions. In spite of being a budget tent, minimums are required. The return to Nairobi went well.
