Good value for money but definitely needs improvement!
3/5

Tour started as promised. Julius was excellent on transfers from/to airport to hotels. Our first 3 days were great with Stanley in Masai Mara ( very friendly / good driver) and Lake Nakuru. Our hotels Masai Mara Lodge (very good) and Lake Nakuru (average) were both in excellent locations. We had a very short game drive in Lake Nakuru so it was a bit of a waste of time. Last 3 days of the tour after Nakuru turned into a nightmare, spending long hours in the car with a non-company driver with zero knowledge in animals / safari, Amboseli tour was complete waste of time and very tiring... the connections/ timings / this trip could be improved. Suggest 3 days in Masai Mara and 2 day in Nakuru. Overall great experience seeing all of the animals (we have seen them all) but the entire experience could have been better...

Excellent tour guide called James, he was so patient and really directed the tour to our taste.
4/5

The communication was great- they were very quick to reply to any question or messages we had before we arrived and then as soon as we met James on the first day, we knew we were in safe hands. The service was excellent, we had loads of space and did as much as we could have done within the few days. He really tried to ensure we saw all the animals and listened to us when we asked to go somewhere/any questions/ if we had enough for the day.

Amazing budget safari trip with Mike !
5/5

Pros: I was a little bit hesitant at first to take a budget safari tour but did not want to be spending over 2000 $ on a trip. We took a 5 nights 6 days tour including Lake Nakuru, Amboseli and Masai Mara parc. He saw all of the animals (Big 5 and others) and even had the chance to catch the great migration. Our guide Mike was really knowledgeable and is an expert in finding secluded animals in the Masai Mara. Most importantly, some of us got sick during the trip and Mike took the liberty to call the next accommodation to let them know we might require a different menu. Upon arrival the staff asked us immediately if we felt better. It was nice to know that our guide was also looking out for us.

Conts: we were told we would only be six in the vehicle and that everyone would have a window seat. After two days, we ended up being 8. We were cramped in the vehicle and one of us did not have a window seat. It made it difficult to move in the van, but this was not our guide's fault. He did try his best for everyone to see the different animals.

Great experience with reasonable price
4/5

First of all, Karibu Safari’s email response was very quick, so it was very helpful for us. And the driver (Raymond) was very nice and tried his best to show us Big 5 and other animals in Masai Mara national park. So we really appreciate that.
However, as for the schedule, they told us in email that we will visit Masai village at evening of second day then visit Masai Mara national park again on our last day ( third day of the trip) initially. But somehow schedule was changed and we visited Masai village on our last day, so we didn’t have time to go back to Masai Mara national park. We expected to do game drive for three days, so it was a little bit disappointing.... also, since we were on 3days trip and other people were on 2days trip, we had to switch our bus on our second day. It was okay but nothing was explained before so we were a bit confused at that time. We think that schedule needs to be explained beforehand...
Other than that, we really enjoyed our first Safari experience. Thank you very much for giving this great experience.

Great trip!
4/5

Definitely a great trip, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. The only reason I haven’t rated as a 5 is because of some of the lack of communication involved. I hadn’t realized that everyone in my group would not be staying in the same hotel with me, or even staying the same length of time at the park. This led to some coordination challenges, but all in all this never detracted from my experience. I also never revived an itinerary of my trip, so think that improved communication may be an area for some improvement.
All in all though the drivers were great, and always super accommodating (even changing a flat tire in less then 10 minutes!). Karibu was also extremely responsive to my messages at all times of day, which I really appreciated. Definitely the best value for its reasonable price compared to other operators.

Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Amboseli, Nairobi
5/5

I recommend Karibu Safaris for its overall experience in Kenya. Robert - owner was very informative in providing necessary information via email/WhatsApp prior to booking (cash is gold). Julius was very welcoming/helpful/on time for airport arrival & departure. The whole team (Raymond, Jimmy, Jeffrey, Dan/Victor, Amberose, Maxwell, Charity) was very friendly, attentive in making sure you have memorable Safari experience. Besides your luck, I suggest 4 days in Masai Mara for maximum big 5 & other animals seeing, 1 day in Nakuru to see white/black rhinos/flamingos, 1 1/2 full day in Naivasha to do boat ride, bicycling, gorge drive. Then 3 days in Amboseli to see mainly elephants & hopefully Mt. Kilimanjaro on clear morning/evening. Depending on your flight schedule, it’s nice to see Giraffe centre, baby elephant orphanage & discover Nairobi. Thank you for wonderful stay. I will refer my friends & come back again with Karibu Safaris.

The best experience of my life!
5/5

We visited Masai Mara early in June and we were lucky that the wildebeest migration has started early this year. We had booked only a 2-day safari which is effectively 2 half days and covers only a small part of Masai Mara. Our tour guide suggested us to extend it for a day, in which the second day is a full day safari and goes up to the Mara river where the wildebeest migration starts. We took the 3-day safari and it was the best decision ever. The wildebeest migration in one of the new seven natural wonders of the world. There we 2-3 million wildebeest dotting the plains of Masai Mara. We saw many lions, lionesses, cheetah, elephants, hippos, a rhino, gazelle, giraffe, zebras, topi antelope, impalas, ostrich, crowned cranes, a variety of storks and kingfishers, secretary bird, vultures, warthogs (Pumba), baboons, Nile crocodile and Nile monitor lizard.

Our driver Raymond had the eye of an eagle and could spot animals from a distance. He spotted lions far away and drove close to it so that we could have a better look and capture many pictures. Name an animal, and Raymond will ensure that you will see it. On the third day, he suggested we visit the Masai village instead of the safari which was a good decision too. We learnt a lot about the culture and practices of the Masai tribe and many friends back home and on Facebook are more interested in the Masai tribe than the wildlife of Masai Mara.

I highly recommend a Masai Mara safari with Karibu Safaris in Kenya for a minimum of 3 days.
