Experience the Real with Karibu Safaris In Kenya
We had an Excellent safaris driver , Arroni. He had many years of experience and make great effort to ensure we see everything that is our there. Services at all the accommodation is excellent too. Setback are the accommodations are lacking in amenities like poor lightings and low water pressure for showering. Besides that all is excellent.

Professional service for a budget safari, best value, highly recommended.
Our dream of the great Kenya came crushing a week before commencing when we got a letter from the scammer, Kenya Walking Survivors Safaris saying that they can't provide the service.
Luckily, Sam, the manager of our Hadassah Hotel at Nairobi got us a similar safari at about the same cost. No need for any advance payment which is good. We don't trust paying out-front after losing 50% to Mr Otieno.
We met with KARIBU Safaris Mr Robert at the hotel for briefing and payment and everything went smoothly thereafter.
Our driver/guide, Arroni is the best guide you could possibly have. He had been doing this for 23 years and can sight a selval cat from such a distance from a moving van where all we saw was something lying in the savanna. We got to see so many animals plus 4 of the Big 5 and Arroni had the gift to position us for the best angle to photograph them. And we got to witness the great wildebeest migration up close.
Two of our team members who had been to many Safaris in South Africa were so impressed, they wish they can have him as their driver/guide in South Africa.
We had such a wonderful experience with Arroni that we were actually glad our original tour was cancelled.

We got the money shots
The briefing was informative and gave us a good idea of what to expect and any questions we asked were answered to our satisfaction. To be honest first impressions of the safari vehicle were that it was dated but we later realized that looks can be deceiving and the vehicle was perfectly designed to get us close to the action and provided a perfect viewing platform once the roof was raised. Although they looked dated the vehicle was mechanically great and obviously designed for the harsh conditions of the tracks.
Our guide (Arroni) was the biggest surprise. He was truly amazing and we soon found ourselves in the prime positions to get the best possible view/photo of the wildlife to the obvious envy of others around us. He was totally devoted to making our experience as safe and enjoyable as possible and we soon built a very good relationship with him. At the end of the day, he knew what was important to us and delivered, we got the money shots we came for including a prime view of the migration crossing of the Mara River by the wilderbeast.
Accommodation at the camps was basic but sufficient. The food tends to be a bit repetitive, but healthy and fills your stomach.
Be prepared for busy roads and African driving which can be a bit scary at times, but we soon got used to that and our guide delivered us safely to our destinations.
If I could offer a suggestion it would be to the camps that hit water is important to most tourists and was at times not available.
All in all, be prepared to live basically but get the rewards of an adventure of a life time. The guide is most important to an enjoyable holiday, we thoroughly enjoyed ours thanks to Arroni.

Excellent Safari experience with Karibu Safaris
The whole experience with Karibu Safaris was just perfect.
Excellent, friendl and knowledgeable tour guide John made our safari a great experience. We've seen all the animals multiple times and even witnessed cheetahs hunting down a wildebeest. Furthermore, food , accomodation and everything else was top! Highly recommend!
Great company to work with when traveling to Kenya
We just returned from Kenya - - this was the second time that we worked with Robert and Karibu Safaris. My wife has family in Kenya and Robert was extremely helpful in helping us to organize a highly customized itinerary. We traveled all over Kenya and Tanzania by train, plane, and auto and everything went incredibly smoothly. Any request that we had (and there were a few) Robert graciously accommodated. He was patient with us as we kept shifting our plans (so we appreciated his flexibility). I will be forever grateful to Robert for retrieving my daughter's passport from a hotel safe and arranging safe transport (for the passport) from Nairobi to Mombasa. Saved us incredible headaches. He helped us stay calm and enjoy our trip (knowing that he had a potentially highly problematic situation covered)

Great way to experience Kenya in a budget
I and my friend have recently done a 7-day tour with Karibu Safaris. The key takeaways are:
Positive:
a. Robert, the owner, was very responsive, straightforward and trustworthy. As promised, he sent someone for our airport pickup and provided us a complimentary night stay.
b. Edward, our driver and guide, was extremely knowledgeable with more than 10 years of experience in safari tours. He tried his best to get us to see wildlife in all the parks and was at hand to resolve any issues we faced.
c. Vegetarian food was available for us all through the tour.
Things which can be improved:
a. It appeared that the bookings for stay are on tentative basis. Thus, if the place mentioned in the itinery is full, the guide will search for other places. While this doesn't seem to be a common occurrence, it brings an element of uncertainty. We faced this in Naivasha.
b. The lodging in Amboseli (Kimana Camp) needs drastic improvement. The issued included no heated water, bathroom door not getting locked and on top of that the power line went kaput in early morning.
c. The tour works on hub and spoke model. So, you can be mixed and matched with another group during the tour. For example, an initial group may have two set of people going on 3 day and 7 day tour respectively. After 3 days, the first group will move to a different vehicle at a transit point and another group will join in or vice versa. While this is okay, it will be better if it can be communicated in advance.
Overall, it was a great experience visiting Kenya. The wildlife is amazing and the people, in general, were fine. For a budget tour, Karibu's 7 day tour is a wonderful experience.

Had a great time in Kenya and Tanzania
Went to Kenya and Tanzania with my family during summer break from college. We visited relatives and traveled all over the place. Everything went very smoothly. The highlight was spending a few nights at an all inclusive at Diani Beach.....so beautiful....with nice rooms and very good food (Neptune Resort).
