Brenda is highly responsive, personable, attentive to details, professional and caring
5/5

I felt fully supported by Brenda through the entire trip from individual and group personal safety, health, comfort, reliability perspective which meant I was fully present and immersed in these astonishing daily safari, cultural, and recreational experiences without hesitation. That is a true gift! The same can be said for Leslie, our safari guide who is such a respectful, caring person who listens well to his clients requests, questions and has a wonderful sense of humor.Leslie has strong professional expertise in bird, animal sightings, bird and animal behavior, technical driving, navigation which surpasses majority of guides based on my conversations with theirs who have been on safari recently. In addition he is a highly proficient animal photographer and shared his fabulous photos with us through the tour.
I agree with previous reviews from early 2024 about quality of accommodations. I highly recommend the bush camp experience because of immersion in the full sensory experience of Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti parks. Hearing distant animal calls, bird song, dark sky nights, sunsets is a unique lifetime experience.
Tarangire Simba Lodge pool, viewing deck at sunset with elephants, gazelle, wildebeest, many birds wandering past and drinking at the water hole was exceptional!
Seeing lots of animal babies of all species was a big thrill for all of our group. We learned and observed the full life and death circle from newborns nursing to vultures cleaning up a carcass, as well as the ecology of the bush and forest environments.
The cultural tour at Mtn wa Mbu was welcoming and an up -close visit with this community’s people, family and daily life, work, food and drink, play and crafts. As an individual tourist it is challenging to have a more authentic sense of Tanzanian culture without these types of group cultural exchanges which are respectful, relaxed, and personable.
This is a family owned and operated, locally staffed small company that truly shows great care and respect for their employees, clients, Tanzanian people, and natural environment. Tanzania Choice Safaris staff have combined experience with of many, many years and history in safari business and it shows!
This was a unique and very memorable trip for me in comparison to my other travel adventures.

An amazing, highly personalized experience!
5/5

This was our first safari, and it was absolutley incredible! We booked somewhat last-minute, but you'd never feel from the experience we had that the planning was rushed. Brenda was so wonderful to work with, listened to all of our wants and offered up great advice and suggestions. The lodges we stayed at felt so wonderful and special. And I can't say enough good things about Noel, our guide! He did such a great job at getting us to see everything and it felt like we always had the best position in any viewing group without being intrusive to any of the other vehicles. We even caught him helping out other drivers on several occasions!

I had such a great time and wouldn't change anything. I'd happily recommend Tanzania Choice to anyone!

TCS is detail and relationship oriented.

This was our third Safari with Tanzania Choice Safaris and each one has surpassed the previous trip! Brenda is so helpful in scheduling what we want to include in our trips and also offers excellent suggestions to fill in the gaps. The safari guides are among the best - they found the animals and birds we hoped to see and are friendly and fun along the way! Each of our three safaris has been different and with different price points. TCS delivered what we asked and hoped for each time. I tell everyone I know that if they are planning a Tanzanian safari then TCS is the best tour operator to use!

Attentive to ensuring we had a wonderful inclusive experience.

We used Tanzania Choice Safari for our 8 day vacation. There were 3 couples, which was the perfect size for a safari vehicle. We had a blend of 4 days safari, and what I would call community immersion. We attended church service in the community, visited hospitals, toured the shifting sands, gorge, and had time for some shopping. We chose a blend of lodges and a bush camp. The bush camp was my favorite place to stay. Most of our meals were included. We thoroughly enjoyed our driver. He was knowledgeable and asked us what we wanted and then delivered. I would highly recommend Tanzania Choice Safari.

Excellent organization, communication and planning.
5/5

We had a most amazing experience, I never thought we would be able to afford a safari but we had a sixteen day adventure at a very reasonable cost. The lodging was all fun, well run and beautiful. Love the bush camps. We had the best guide ever. Leslie took great care of us and found every animal and bird you could want to see. So many birds! It was a dream to be riding through the grand landscape searching for the next surprise.
We added on a balloon ride over Ndutu that I would highly recommend, worth every penny. Also the cultural tour in Mto wa Mbu was so good.
All the details came together without a hitch. Terrific and highly recommend. Thank you Brenda, Leslie and Noel(sp?) truly a trip of a lifetime, but I want to come back!

From transportation to accomadations to our safari guide, the trip was flawless!
5/5

Tanzania Choice Safaris put together an unbelievable trip for six of us. Communications with Brenda, from Choice Safaris, began nine months in advance of our trip and with her guidance we chose an itenerary that began with two days in Arusha, an eight-dy safari that included Tangire National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and Serengeti National Park, then ended with four days in Zanzibar. We booked our own flights from Denver to Arusha and Zanzibar back to Denver. Other than these flights, Brenda made arrangement for all of our transportation, in-country flights, accomodations, cultural tours, and of course the safari itself. Leslie, our safari guide for eight days, was incredible. Every day on safari was incredible. I'm not sure how he did, it but everyday Leslie would find some new wildlife, often in remote locations. It seems like we saw everything in the East Africa wildlife guide (except an aardvark)! And birds! With Leslie's help, I added over 100 new bird species to my lifetime list, often to the annoyance of my five traveling companions. You have to take this trip to believe it! The accomodations were more than comfortable. Even the bush camp tents had double beds, hot showers and flush toilets! We ended the trip in Zanzibar with snorkeling tours, a spice tour, and cultural tour of Stone Town. Brenda booked our tours and accomodations in Zanzibar and everything went smoothly including transportation to the airport. With a trip of this magnitude and six people, glitches are to be expected, but there were none. I can't say enough about Tanzania Choice Safaris. If you're booking a safari, this is the company to use. And as a bonus, their prices are very competitive!

100% wonderful from the first contact with Brenda thru Leslie dropping us off at the airport.
5/5

Brenda was very good at listening to us. We wanted to travel during our winter and wanted rustic but not too primitive to fairly nice accomodations without paying 5 star resort prices. She was good about explaining the pros (birthing season and green grass) vs the cons (hot and sometimes green tall grass makes it harder to see smaller animals) of going on safari in February. The lodges we stayed in were nicer than we expected and included pools. We also spent some nights in bush camps, which I describe as glamping. They were also nicer than I expected. Big beds (no army cots) and private bathrooms with showers.
Leslie was our driver. He was perfect. Funny, personable, knowledgeable, excellent at spotting animals, and an all-around nice guy. Anytime we saw another driver stuck in the mud, he was the first to stop to help. One of our group members is an avid bird watcher. Leslie is also interested in birds, so was the perfect fit for us.
Tanzania Choice Safaris does not combine groups. You only travel with whomever you sign up with. We reduced our per person cost by going with a group of 6 and were still comfortable in the Land Cruiser.
We stayed at the Pazuri Inn near Arusha for our recuperating day upon arrival. Noel (another driver and Leslie's brother) took us around Arusha the first day and he was also great.
On the safari, we visited Tarangire National Park, staying at Tarangire Simba Lodge. It was beautiful and elephants and other animals visited us at the watering hole during happy hour. We did a 2 hour walking safari with a park ranger. Very interesting and several elephants followed us to the parking spot.
We did a half day cultural tour of Mto wa Mbu. Worthwhile and informative. Stayed at Eileen's Trees Inn. Nice with a pool. It poured that evening so we stayed under cover.
Next was Ngorongo Crater, which was amazing. Stayed at Ndutu Bush camp. Large tents, the aforementioned glamping. Heard hyenas and lions in the night. We opted for the early morning hot air balloon ride over Nduto. I highly recommend it.
From there we went to the Ngorongo Conservation area and then on to Serengeti National park, staying at Central Serengeti Bush camp.
I mentioned that it was birthing season. For me, that was the highlight of the trip. We saw baby elephants, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, gazelles, warthogs, lions, monkeys, baboons, and more.
I can't say enough about the great service throughout the entire planning process and the whole adventure. Truly a once in a lifetime experience.

Joseph was filled with knowledge about every animal we came across, he was very patient and fantastic at informative small talk, he understands that you are there to explore and enjoy and he would be more than happy to sit and look at a parrot for hours with you.

Absolutely perfect from planning stage to safari
5/5

I am SO glad I chose Tanzania Choice Safaris for our trip. After initially trying to plan a trip independently, I gave up when I realized you really need expert advice for this. Brenda spent a lot of time with me choosing the perfect locations, properties, and timing, customized to our preferences. We wanted a mix of lodges and traditional tent camps with varying levels of luxury/budget throughout the trip and it all worked out perfectly. I am also very happy that we used a private guide/driver instead of joining random groups on shared game drives throughout the trip at various properties.

Our guide/driver Leslie was flawless and I would request him specifically if I return. He is a genuinely caring and great human being who loves to help, is fun to spend a week or more with, and is super knowledgeable about all animals. I was especially impressed with his knowledge about birds, which not every guide understands with such familiarity. He was also an excellent professional and technical driver, clearly more skilled than many of the others on the road. He had a map of every location in his head, always knowing where best to go. We saw everything we wanted to see and more.

Tanzania Choice Safaris is located in Tanzania and is a locally-owned company with all local employees. It was nice to support a small, family-operated business that really cares for you personally and understands the ever-changing local conditions. Brenda even checked up on us after we finished the safari and went to the islands independently for a diving portion of the trip.

I HIGHLY recommend this company and experience.
