Exceptional
5/5

Choosing Tanzania Choice Safari was easy. So many friends in Dar es Salaam had highly recommended them. I quickly discovered their level of excellence during booking when Brenda worked with us to revise our schedule to be just right. Serengeti and Ngorogoro Crater are a trip of a lifetime, so I wanted to make sure we had great food (especially since I have food allergies) and lodging, but not break the bank. That is what we got, fantastic service, friendly faces, great food, and beautiful, comfortable bedrooms. Kakasii knew everyone! Very clearly the other tour guides respect him for his knowledge and professionalism. He found us everything we were eager to see! Rhinos, leopards and close ups with lions and cheetahs next to our car! When I said I loved birds, Kakasii impressed us all with his knowledge of various types of birds and his skill at spotting them. We have been on about 10 safari trips in Tanzania, since we have had the pleasure of living here for a few years, but nothing compares to the service, care and amazing safari we had with Tanzania Choice Safaris. Now, having experienced their care, I can highly recommend them as well.

The best!
5/5

The safari vehicle was equipped with a refrigerator stocked with filtered water, and had electric outlets for charging your phone or camera batteries. Its roof lifted up for excellent viewing. It was a very capable vehicle (modified Toyota Land Cruiser) for the rough roads we encountered. The places they booked us to stay at were gorgeous and comfortable. Our guide and the whole Tanzania Choice Safaris team were top notch, well organized, helpful, and timely. I highly recommend them!

Exceeded expectations
5/5

I highly recommend Tanzania Choice Safaris for a great safari. Brenda, the owner, and Leslie, my safari guide/driver, were very friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and easy to work with when it came to planning my trip. Brenda was responsive and always followed up whenever I had questions. She put together a great itinerary based on my needs and budget. Brenda even came to the local airport to make sure my flight to Zanzibar was running on time, that I had no issues checking in, and also checked in on me when I landed and made it to my hotel in Zanzibar.

Leslie was great company and took good care of me (I was a solo traveler). He taught me about the different plants/trees and birds found in the wild, and made sure that I saw the "big five" animals, as I requested. He knew where the animals were going to be and which direction they were going. He knew when patience would pay off for keeping put and when it would be better to move on.

The lodges I stayed at were clean and comfortable; the food was great, including the boxed lunches. The trip exceeded my expectations and I had a lot of fun seeing lots of animals during my safari trip. Overall, it was a wonderful and memorable trip and I thank Tanzania Choice Safaris for providing such a great experience.

Wonderful experience
5/5

We had a wonderful experience with Tanzania Choice Safaris from the moment we reached out with our inquiry. Brenda (the owner) was very responsive to our questions, listened to our needs, and put together an itinerary that fit our needs and the budget. Kakasii (co-owner) was our driver and guide during the Safari. He was very friendly, fantastic with the kids (13 y.o) and took good care of us. He often anticipated where the animals were going to be (sometimes taking us to more remote places) and which direction they were going to move to make sure we had the best possible experience. He knew when patience would pay off for keeping put and when it would be better to move on. Both Brenda and Kakasii were very accommodating to our changing travel plans (our pick-up location changed a few days before departure and two of our flights at departure had significant schedule changes). It was hard saying goodbye at the end. We would gladly do a safari with them again, and wholeheartedly recommend them to others.

I can't say enough about our guide, Joseph Swai. He loves his job, his country and nature and that made him the best guide we could hope for. He knows so much about all the parks we visited, about the animals, about the landscape and the history of this place. It was an honor to have him show it all to us. We let him guide us and he never steered us wrong. He is an excellent driver and I knew we were in good hands. The lodges were lovely with excellent staff and comfortable rooms. Thank you for the trip of a lifetime.

Amazing in Every Way
5/5

There were so many things that Brenda did for us that it's hard to think of all of it in the same moment.....first, the communication with Brenda was clear, quick, and easy. I appreciate quick responses/accountability and that was exactly my experience with Brenda. Second: I love how we started big and pared down, as opposed to starting small and adding on. It gave me a chance to see everything that was available to us, and allow me to pick and choose what experiences were most important to us. Third, I had a TON of questions all along the way while we were determining the itinerary, and Brenda answered all of them, not just with a simple answer, but going beyond with explanations and other data that she knew would be important to add. Next: when we arrived in Dar, she literally had EVERY detail covered. We never wondered who or when we needed to meet to take a drive our flight to our next stop. She was always available if it was necessary, but it wasn't for most of the trip. We even booked ourselves some time on Zanzibar, and she had tips and contacts that she shared with us there. Leslie, our guide, was amazingly knowledgeable, and calm under pressure. We actually got stranded/stuck in the Serengeti, twice in one day, at no fault of Brenda's or our Leslie's. Leslie bravely walked away from us in the locked vehicle with nothing but an iphone, in pitch black, and was back in 30 minutes with a bunch of help and we were out and moving in no time. It was a very exciting part of our adventure! :). The price of the trip was right around what I was expecting; we didn't want to go luxury, but we loved every camp we visited.

Bottom line: it was a trip of a lifetime, one we will never ever forget. Brenda is a big part of why it went so well, and I will always be thankful to her for that! You will NOT go wrong if you choose to go with Tanzania Choice Safari's!!!

Very knowledgeable, organized and friendly, who tailored the safari to perfectly suit our needs
5/5

What an amazing adventure we had with Tanzania Choice Safari! From the outset Brenda was excellent in helping tailor the right safari for my family (2 adults & 2 children). Kakasii and Lesley met us at the airport and off we went high in anticipation. TCS did not disappoint. Lesley was a superb guide - extremely knowledgeable (I never knew there were that many different birds in Tanzania!), patient, a fabulous driver with an amazing eye to spot the wildlife! My family and I had a fantastic time, TCS more than met our expectations! If you’re interested in a safari, we will thoroughly recommend TCS. Many thanks to Lesley, Brenda and Kakasii!!

Magnificent, profound trip made possible by amazing TCS owners, guides and drivers!
5/5

TCS helped LJ, MJ & DJ accomplish an ambitious, jam-packed itinerary - accommodating all of our interests into a magnificent, thrill-of-a-lifetime trip. Cousins Noah and Leslie were our expert drivers/guides around Arusha, our home base in between safari drives and private trips to Dar-es-Salaam and Mbeya. Owners Brenda & Kakasii were top-notch in assisting with all of the TZ in-country flights and navigations! Our First Safari: Great Rift Valley flyover from Arusha to the remote Heritage Camp to see the Great Migration at the Mara River. Expert Guide Victor picked us up at Kogatende Airstrip and away we went, including 2 migration crossings in 2 days! He had fantastic radio communication w/fellow guides and "intuitive expertise," locating animals in remote locations after morning kills: a pride of lions resting on rocks, a lone leopard up in a tree, a weary cheetah with extended full belly within close site of vultures fighting and feeding off the carcass. Victor was amazing, sharing all of our joy and excitement for animal and bird sitings! Our second drive was led by kind, wise Guide Joseph, equally adept at finding animals and birds. This intermediate birder added over 75 TZ birds to her life list as well as seeing the 'Big Five'! Excursions with Joseph: Oldupai Gorge Museum visit, including a drive down to see the actual site of the Leakey's archealogical dig; drive out to Shifting Sands; drive into Ngorongoro Crater and an added drive to Tarangire National Park, graciously arranged by Brenda. While at our accommodations in Ngorongoro Conservation Area at the hillside Tortilis Camp nestled amongst Maasai villages, we were treated to song and dance by the whole staff. The warm TZ people at Heritage, Tortilis and TCS made our experience so rewarding and enriched our lives with their expertise in animals, birds, geology, culture and life!!!

Knowledgeable and kind; anticipated our needs; happily worked to meet our expectations.
5/5

Our original booking was interrupted by the pandemic. Rescheduling was easy due to helpful and flexible staff. Our guide, Joseph, was a real pleasure to spend the week with. He identified what we hoped to see and managed to often be the first vehicle to arrive when he heard over the CB about a lion (or rhino or hippo) sighting. We asked so many questions and he answered each with patience, even when we asked repeatedly (now what kind of bird is that again?). Joseph was great with our kids, always had a few extra blankets when we got cold, and got us up close and personal with some of the most beautiful animals imaginable. We wanted a trip that the family would remember and we go it. Thank you Tanzania Choice Safaris.
