The Safari Experience of My Dreams
From the start to finish my experience with Tanzania Choice Safari could not have gone better. Brenda was so responsive and helpful, and quickly put together a plan that was respectful of my budget and time, while accomplishing exactly what I hoped to do. Her communication about booking, details, and prep for my trip were well-timed and clear as could be.
I was met at the airport by Festo, who served as a transporter. He and I had a grand time exploring Arusha, complete with a delicious lunch at a local joint. He regaled me with stories of climbing Kilimanjaro, and was eager for me to plan a return trip to summit in one of his groups. He transported me to my incredible lodging at the Retreat House at St Catherine Monastery, just minutes from the gate of Ngorongoro Crater, where I was met by my guide Noel.
Noel was just as friendly and invested in his job, with a clear enjoyment of what he does. He explained the geological history of Ngorongoro, and shared with me how our trip would go. He was organized and efficient, and clearly knew the park well. Obviously the experience is different every day for every person, but I can’t help but think that Noel has some sort of special “in” with the residents of the parks he tours, because what I saw was nothing sort of incredible, miraculous even. He communicated with other guides and got me to spots to see animals before any crowds arrived, and I could hardly believe my luck. Along the way, he shared information about the behaviors and habitats of the animals we saw, and was a wealth of knowledge about the plants, habitats, birds, and mammals around every turn.
Our next day brought more adventure at Lake Manyara. We were the second vehicle into the park, and thus had the run of the place before anyone else was there. The things I saw I will not soon forget, including some truly special experiences observing lions and elephants.
Noel the. Took great pains to make sure I was at the airport in plenty of time, and he ensured I had a seamless check-in process. From the planning process to the parting at the airport, my experience was one of highest concierge-quality assistance and attention. I was already considering my next adventure with Tanzania Choice, and most definitely with a Noel, before we were even done with this adventure. However, if I’m not fortunate enough to come back, I can be more than satisfied that I had the safari of my dreams thanks to Brend and Noel. And if I’m ever intrepid enough to tackle Kili, Festo would absolutely be my pick as a guide. I cannot recommend Tanzania Choice Safaris more highly. Frankly, I would not even consider another group because the bar has been set so high.

I'd like to give Tanzania Choice Safaris 10 STARS! If only that were an option. This was a professional, thorough, mind boggling, safari experience designed specifically for our interest in wildlife, scenery, cultural and agricultural experiences. On our three nation trip, we prioritized companies that were locally owned since much that happens in the safari world is done by by companies from abroad. Brenda worked with us to provide everything we were looking for and more! Our main guide for this 2 wk Tanzania tour, Noel, is arguably the best-of-the-best! -- Nothing but praise for Noel! Noel had an agreeable personality an easy laugh, an admirable work ethic, and was brimming with knowledge about the wonders of Tanzania. He came preparred, just in case, with several local nature guides to look up details about some birds and plants we were interested in. Everything Tanzania Choice Safaris arranged met or exceeded our very high expectations. I lost count of the animals and birds -- sooo many! The scenery was sublime: from dry grassy plains, to picturesque rocky outcroppings, large lakes, rivers, marshes big and small, mountains and forests. We learned about growing spices, coffee, fruits and vegetable, and about tribes and traditional and adaptive ways of living in todays world. We even made coffee by hand without machines from bean to brewing! I would also like to commend Cholow (forgive my inventive spelling of his name) who helped us navigate three locations in Zanzibar. He provided information about the culture and wildlife. He was on time (except for a minimal delay due to a flat tire once) He was also professional and informative. The company owner, Brenda, met us partway through and surprised two of us with gifts of Tanzanian crafts since we were on safari as birthday gifts to ourselves. Per our request, Brenda helped us arrange a visit to a music school, a dance performance, dance and drumming lessons, a fascinating day on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro having a cultural tour of Tanzania's Wachagga tribe -- a woman owned experience about their history, food, agriculture, cooking, and their adaptations to the 21st century. Tanzania Choice Safaris planned an excellent safari trip for us!
Tanzania Choice Safaris was a great choice to plan our safari in the Serengeti National Park and Ngorogoro Crater. Brenda in the office answered all of our many questions promptly and with patience. She is American so was able to communicate with us very well. She also was responsible for choosing and booking our lodges, and they were all excellent. Apparently she tests them herself before sending her clients, and she has good taste. We liked Mara Under Canvas especially, because the location was beautiful overlooking a valley and mountains across the way. But signature was also excellent and Rhotia Lodge was lovely, too, with their beautiful gardens. Our guides, Noel and Elisante, were great and very patient with us and the kids in our extended family group of 12. We saw all the “Big 5” plus more! The trucks have a pop-up top to get an unobstructed view but also can be closed to cut down on the dust. And a cooler to keep the snacks and water cool. TCS also helped us with a few other in-country bookings, like a day at Mount Kilimanjaro, a coffee plantation tour in Arusha, and transfers and flights to Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam. The price was very reasonable at around $3k/person. This was my favorite vacation, and I wish I could do it again. I would choose TCS again, too.

Simply the Best
Tanzania Choice Safaris was simply the best, from start to finish. Brenda's communication, from scheduling to the conclusion, was unparalleled. We felt a high degree of trust and confidence in her. Additionally, Brenda's selections and recommendations for accommodations were perfect. Every place we stayed exceeded our expectations. Our safari guide, Noel, was extremely knowledgeable about Tanzania and all wildlife, and his driving skills were amazing on the "African massage" roads. Also, Noel went above and beyond on our final night in the Serengeti when he observed four lions take down a wildebeest after we had returned to our lodge. Noel could have easily let it be a missed opportunity for us. Instead, he returned to our lodge, alerted us, and took us to observe the circle of life in action. To top it off, Brenda and Kakasii met us at the airport the day we left to learn about our experience and confirm our safe and timely departure. We highly recommend Tanzania Choice Safaris for your next adventure! You'll be in good hands.

I would choose Tanzania Choice Safaris again! Their vehicles were clean and comfortable. Our tour operator was AMAZING! His English skills and knowledge of the area and animals was fantastic. We got much closer to lions and elephants than the other tour companies around us! I would HIGHLY recommend this company!

Tanzania Choice Safaris gave us a brilliant safari experience. Every single communication and interaction was extremely positive and, as a result, we had a completely trouble-free and genuinely joyous 8 days in Tanzania. Brenda was professional, friendly and patient in organising a perfect set of activities and accommodations for us at short notice, with plenty of options to choose from. On safari through Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti, with a fascinating side trip also to Olduvai Gorge, we were privileged to have the most excellent guide. Leslie is not only very knowledgeable about the habitats, fauna and flora, but also taught us a lot about Tanzanian culture, history and society. He is an exceptional human being who works so hard to be a master of all of the challenging aspects required to be a safari guide, and so we found ourselves going to bed each night feeling extremely lucky for yet another wonderful day (and in truly delightful lodges). All up, Tanzania Choice Safaris delivered for us day after day of excitement, joy of discovery, comfort and great food, and a deep sense of satisfaction that exceeded all of our expectations. We would not hesitate for a second to recommend them to everyone, and would most definitely turn to them again, should we be lucky enough to visit Tanzania again.

Great safari experience!
My group recently completed a safari in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater with Tanzania Choice Safaris. We were a group of 12 and had 2 guides, Noel and Elisante driving the group in 2 cars. We had such a wonderful time and our guides were the best. Our guides were on time, made sure everything was organized and were very knowledgeable about the animals and knew the Serengeti roads like the back of their hand. Brenda and team organized a wonderful safari that exceeded our expectations. When there was a last minute cancellation to one of our lodgings, Brenda was able to find a replacement quickly and adjust our trip details accordingly. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Amazing safari experience
We had a group of 12 on a 4 day safari to Serengeti and Ngorogoro crater. Brenda gave us good advice on picking appropriate accommodations (which were all great). Our guides Noel and Alisante were fantastic and were able to find a lot of great wildlife for us to see. We have memories that will last a lifetime!

Great support and service
We had a great experience with Tanzania Choice Safaris. They arranged a great program and when we wanted to make some changes in the fly, they accommodated and made anything possible. When we encountered problems, (illness, traffic accident), they were there and had the personnel and resources to support us despite difficulties we encountered. They demonstrated their commitment to our enjoyment and our safety. We would definitely travel with them again.
