5 day Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro budget safari
I went on a 5 day budget safari in June 2018 to Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. We were in a group of four (two couples) and it was a fantastic experience. It was my third safari experience and a first for the other three.
I researched safari companies excessively prior to any bookings and Kili Slope appeared to be the best with regards to reviews and cost. Communication was impeccable and I always received prompt responses to my messages. Payment was made really easy. They ask for a small deposit to secure a safari and the remainder is paid in cash upon arrival. They picked us up from the airport and we were put into a budget hotel for the first night in Arusha for no charge which was an added bonus. The entire package is all-inclusive with no hidden costs (tipping the guide and cook were our only extra costs).
The safari itself was an incredible life-changing experience. Our guide, Salim, was phenomenal. He was friendly, professional at all times, really enthusiastic about his job and just understands animals on a whole other level. He knew exactly where to go and we got into really close proximity to a multitude of animals - cheetahs, lions, leopards, hippos, rhinos, etc. He made it his priority to find us the big five and give us the best experience possible.
We elected for budget accommodation and we stayed in a fairly "glamping" style ensuite tent in Manyara with actual beds and the remainder were in tents pitched in campsites. The Serengeti accommodation was basic with running water for showers in the campsite. It was however made exceptional by Sam's cooking who accompanied us for the trip. We elected to have packed lunches (sandwiches, pancakes, juice, fried chicken, fruit) so we could maximise safari time. We were treated to a hot breakfast and a three-course dinner every day. The Ngorongoro campsite is lush with Wi-fi and hot water.
The service and tour greatly exceeded expectations and I would definitely recommend Kili Slope Tours and Safaris to anybody looking into booking a safari in Tanzania. I would personally request Salim, if at all possible.
Thank you Kili Slopes for a fabulous time!

A safari that truly came to life, thanks to the sincerity of the team and their passion for wildlife
I booked the safari just a few days prior to my arrival in Tanzania and requested just two quotes. The first request got an immediate response from another company that used polished language and cookie-cutter text. My second request was directed at Kili Slope and David responded quickly, apologetically asking for some extra time. Why not? So when I finally received the quote I could see that the itinerary was genuinely put together for me individually, based on the information I had provided, and David’s sincerity shone through. I’m ultimately glad I chose Kili Slope. Such a great team!
Everything went superbly well from start to finish. David showed himself flexible and thought along with me the two times I considered itinerary changes. In the end I stuck to the original plan, but I knew I could have it any way I wanted. The accommodations were comfortable, and sometimes even had a ‘Wow!’ Factor. Also, David personally sees to it that any issues are fixed even if it costs him a lot of personal time!!
Special thanks to our excellent driver Salim, whom I jokingly referred to as our ‘safari manager’. The other single traveler in our small group and I were able to leave all the thinking to him and simply relax and have a great experience. He was very professional and every day he would brief us on the experiences ahead, check in with our preferences and tailor the day’s game drive itinerary accordingly. What really sets him apart however, I think, is his passion for his country, and its nature and animals. Not just a driver to show you the big five (and see them we did!) so you could snap a few pictures and move on, he was eager to share his love for each and every animal, big or small. He explained the animals’ and trees’ characteristics and we had quite a few laughs over what turned out to be some quirky theatrics of nature. The safari truly came to life. I observed other drivers from other operators along the way. They seemed bored, and I believe Salim gave us much more. He calls the Serengeti his home and made us feel welcome.
I definitely recommend Kili Slope!

Fantastic 8 day Lemosho and 2 day Safari
We started with an 8 day Lemosho Kili Trek. Starting from the first contact with David (Manger), the booking, the Pick-up and so on everything worked out very organized and professional. As we had still sone open balance to pay, David picked us up from the hotel and drove us to different ATMs, taking care about everything himself.
The trek itself was an unforgettable experience. Prices are very reasonable and can be adjusted depending on your comfort needs. Our guides Mango and Hatib were fantastic and contributed a lot to this unforgettable experience. I would 100% recommend them. Furthermore Godein was the best summit porter that I can imagine. Having this team you will for sure made it to the summit.
After the trek we continued with a day day Safari to Tanguire and Ngorongoro Crater. Especially the Crater is such a special place which we enjoyed a lot. We chose the budget option and slept on s campsite outside the park. Turned out that the budget option isn‘t that basic and gave as all the rest we needed to fully enjoy the second safari day. Our driver/guide Simon definitely went the extra mile to show us all that is possible during the two days. You really felt the passion for his job and for giving the clients the best service. The vehicle was super comfortable as was the driving.
We can 100% recommend Kili sllpe for whatever activity you plan. You can be sure to get the best service for a reasonable price. All activities have been realised by Kili slopes themselves. So you wont be transferred to any other tour operator that you do not inow before. Definitely a big advantage.
Thank you for everything! Tina&Boris

Safari tour with Kili Slope Tours and Safari was excellent
Our January 2024 Safari tour with the Kili Slope Tours and Safari was great!
Ziggy, our guide was very knowledgeable - he shared a ton of animal facts, knew where to look for the animals, and could even speak animal language - wildebeests seemed to respond to his calls :)
He also was a pleasure to talk to - great communication skills and sense of humor.
To top this all, he is a super driver - safe and reliable - a very important skill in the wilderness with lots of rain and no paved roads.
Halid, our cook is hands down the best cook ever - his meals were always fresh and very delicious. He was also happy to share his recipes and tricks with us.

Accommodating and excellent experience seeing calving season!
We had an amazing and unforgettable experience on our safari with Baccari as our guide! The experience is one we will remember forever! Seeing these animals in their natural habitat like this is so eye opening. We went during calving season and did a 5 day safari in February. We went to Tarangeri, Serengeti, Ndutu, and Ngorongoro crater. Seeing the great migration near Ndutu during calving season with all the wildebeest calves was a highlight! Because Baccari was a great guide we were able to see so many amazing animals like birds and lions and dik diks and rhinos. Baccari listened to what we wanted to see, and made sure to stop by and see the animals that interested us the most! The lodging was perfect and extremely nice at each location, with exceptional food. It was initially booked as a solo trip; but the company was accommodating and was able to allow me to add a friend to the itinerary with only 1 months notice. They were also accommodating about picking us up at the airport, as our arriving flights had to be different.
Only thing preventing it from being 5 stars is that there was some mistake regarding admission to the national parks and conservation areas, resulting in us waiting for extended periods of time at the park entrances. Also; they were a bit slow to respond to emails and answer questions when planning the safari, but I have heard that is typical for Tanzania!

Amazing team to take us up Kili!
The team who took us up Mt Kilimajaro were so amazing and knowledgeable. We felt safe at all times with such an experienced head guide in Suma, and a great support team of assistant guides, chefs and porters.
Would recommend to anyone, but remember to go slow - Pole Pole!
Competent, Skilled and Knowledgable!
As an outdoor guide and educator myself, I had a unique appreciation for our head guide's (Suma) leadership style, safety prioritization, risk assessment and energetic presence. He always laid out all of our options, asked us for our opinions and input, and prioritized each client's personal and medical needs throughout the expedition. He was always kind, supportive, energetic and enthusiastic. SUCH a fun, incrediblly special, and (I found) an emotionally intimate experience. Would do again in a heartbeat and would most certainly request Suma and his team again. The food was incredible and they easily catored to my gluten-free diet.

Fair to Average
I booked 8 months in advance (group join option) with stated goal to spend as much time as possible with the migration. The itinerary indicated 1 day in the Crater and 3 days in the Serengeti including one entire day with the migration (large wildebeest herd) and at the river looking for crossings.
Unfortunately this did not occur primarily due to the driver. Room/board was good and the first two days went according to schedule. I was put in a Avocet Tanzania Safaris group (the 6 passengers had each booked with several different agencies and mixed together --this is apparently common in Tanzania). We had a very good visit to Tangamire NP. One passenger left and a young boy who did not speak english joined us presumably as a cook. He and the driver were always speaking Swahili so we got minimal information. Loud ranger station static over the 2-way seemed always on and prevented music from being played.
On the 3rd day we found the large herd early in the morning , an incredible sight. But after 20 minutes, almost as if the job was completed, the driver took us across the Grumeti where we spent another hour then told us they are not crossing today so we crossed back and despite request to return, we never saw the herd again. The rest of the day was spent driving at high speed chasing ranger reports of cats which we had already seen quite a few of (but no chases/kills). At dinner I found out other vehicles had seen groups of wildebeast crossing the river. The fourth day was spent chasing more cats.
My second complaint is that each time I stood up to take a photo, the vehicle would take off fast knocking me down. It would be nice to get a warning like "leaving in 10 seconds". The fifth day was at the crater. We spent only 3 hours and I was told that the 4 other passengers were on a 5-day safari so he was taking them to the airport. I was left at campsite near Lake Manyara for 18 hours without a guide. On the sixth day I had my own guide for Lake Manyara NP and then to the airport.
Of course, I will return to see another migration but unsure if at Serengeti or Masai Mara.

Marvelous safari in Serengeti
We had a fantastic 8-day safari with Kili Slope driving the whole day with our great guide Fadhili. Excellent sightings of lions, cheetah, leopard, huge hers of elephants, wildebeests and zebras, and we also learnt a lot despite we have had many safaris in Africa. We went for tented lodges in Manyara, Serengeti, Ndutu and Ngorongoro areas and all of them were very comfortable, just like our 4x4 vehicle. Fadhili was very helpful whatever requests we had, and he respected nature the rules of the national parks unlike other drivers. I will always remember his saying: the animals are always there, it is just our luck how much we see them, that is why it is called GAME drive :-). I would highly recommend Kili Slope and always remember in Africa: Hakuna Matata!

Great experience!
These are great guys who are very determined to make sure you have the best trip possible. That is, they are adaptable and always willing to change the itinerary according to your wishes. They are also knowledgeable about the places you go (Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, etc.), so you are able to learn as well as have many memorable experiences. I would definitely recommend!
