A Lifetime Memory
Upon arrival, we were treated with a delicious homemade lunch. Lilian was such a good chef that we wanna learn some cooking skills from her:) She's so detail orientated and had a good understanding of my needs that I don't need to specify my requests one by one several times. I had additional concerns and Lilian was warm hearted to help out with them. Compared to other operators that I asked, Zohar acted quickly and answered questions one by one accurately. I decided to go with Zohar team based on their patience and quick responses. My decision was absolutely correct. My friends and I had a wonderful time in Tanzania. Even our tour guide Ahmed was the most handsome and tallest guy in Serengeti plain haha:) We saw bunch of big cats like lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Even more, we were so lucky that we saw them making babies!! We were a little worried that not much time for us to do safaris and watch animals (we only had two full days for game drives) but we almost saw everything in just one day. Thanks to Ahmed and Zohar for bringing us such an amazing experience. It was so nice to have hot meals and British tea time instead of cold lunch boxes while we were in Serengeti. Zohar met our expectations exactly. No worries, just go with them!!! They will bring you a five star experience!

Amazing Trip with the Best Driver and Coordinator
We stayed in the Serena Group of hotels which were very good as well as the Tarangire Sopa Lodge which was excellent.
Our driver, David was very knowledgeable on animal behavior and the wildlife reserve. Thanks to him we saw the BIG 5 as well as the SMALL 5. He was very accommodating and made sure we were comfortable.
Lilian, owner of Zohar was very prompt in her emails and included all the sights we wanted to see including the Masai Village and having an authentic African meal.
Overall a very memorable trip thanks to Lilian and David

6 days private safari
We did a 6 days private safari with Zohar. We went to Lake Manyara, Ndutu, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire. Especially Ndutu was a wonderful experience, in this park (the only one) you are allowed to drive offroad.
We where very lucky with the weather, although it was light rainy season...we did't had much rain. Our guides name is Sammy and we had a good time. We have seen all the animals, including the big 5. It was amazing.
The lodges and tented camps were great.
Lillian (the owner) gave us her advise from the beginning and that was much appreciated, she is really thinking with you. She replied all the times really quickly and clear. We loved the fact we did a private tour, so we could arrange everything like we wanted to. It also gives you the exact time you need for making pictures etc.
We can recommend Zohar to everyone.

Hundreds of cast with Lilian and Fazal
Communications during a six months period of preparation were excellent. Lilian, the manager of Zohar, is a plus for everything and has a great knowledgeability of the sector. She followed us at the beginning, during and at the end of Safari. She is really a reliable, efficient and competent director. Fazal was a great guide and an excellent driver. Thanks to him we saw a lot of animals, expecially cats. He has a great knowledgeability of the parks, of Tanzanian natural life and he is a kind and polite man you can speak with of many things. The car was good, confortable and quite reliable. The lodges and camps we chose following the tips of Lilian were really good, confortable, fine and safe. All in all, a wonderful experience.

Fantastic Honeymoon Safari
We had such a great experience with Zohar Safari, we sincerely recommend it!!!
Lillian was very prompt via email right from the beginning, before booking and she just kept being present before, during and after our trip and everything was very smooth!!
My husband and I have just come back from this trip of a lifetime and we have so many memories!
We booked a private safari, just the 2 of us and visited Tarangire, the central part of Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. In between these wonderful parks, we also visited the Mtonga tribe (prbably incorrect spelling, but it means Mosquito River in swaili), the Hadzabe tribe and the Datoga tribe.
CAR: Large 4x4 Toyota Landcruiser almost new, comfortable, with pop up roof.
PARKS: Amazing!!! I really had no idea... Tarangire has so many elephant and at this time of the year so many baby Elephants! The Serengeti is just incredible, the land is so flat that you can spot animals from so far away, the amount of lions and leopards we saw was incredible! The Ngorongoro is surreal, you are surrounded 360 degrees from the rim of the crater and on the inside you have Savannah and forest and then you can see animals so easily!!!
GUIDE: Our guide was Godfrey, such a gracious guy. His English is very good and he is very knowledgeble about the animals (for example, why is the secretary bird is called secretary?), their hang outs spot (we saw so many lions and we were the only vehicle there!!!!) and beside that, we have been taking about tribes, politics, poaching, about everything. He was very plesant to be with and he took a great care of us, always making sure that we were safe and enjoyed our time.
HIGHLIGHTS: Believe or not we had two 6 months old Lion cubs laying under our car for shade... These 2 little ones were amazing, this happen in Ngorongoro!!In the serengeti, we saw a mama lion with 3 cubs, very close to us, over some stacked rocks, we saw a Cheeta that had just killed a gazzelle and was dragging it to find a safe place to eat, we saw a leopard with cub just by our car, we saw a male baboon chasing away a leopard, a jackal biting a lion and on top of all.... an heard of elephant that charged a pride of 18 lions that were feeding in front of them and have them cornered.... You understand we were shocked!!!!!
At any rate beside these strong emotions with these animals, we had the chance of seeing the tribes I mention above which I honestly think it has been a very enriching experience! Our guides to visit those tribes (Jumma and Musa) where great as well. The cultural visit to the tribes was something we had not thought of doing, and now we are so happy we did.
Tanzania is beautiful and we are planning our next trip back obviously with Zohar Safari

A model of a service oriented company.
There were 8 of us, members of the family, ages 30 to 70 most of us never been to Africa before and one - me- with a couple of dafaris before.
The concesus has been: a lifetime experiece!
Zohar did an excellent job in arranging it all and making sure that everything flowed smoothly with great guides, Sami and Fasal who knew how to find the best corners to watch the animals yet, most of the times only us, without
the crowds.
The planning was perfect from the choice of the itinerary, places to stay and everything else.
Highly reccomended.

Extraordinary Safari with Zohar
I just returned from Safari organized by Zohar African Safaris, and they exceeded what were my already high expectations for them. Initially, we had numerous pre-trip conversations with Lili Maximillian and Ken Firestone to customize our journey. In addition to wildlife, we wanted to visit with local people and meet with NGOs. Lili arranged our itinerary to accomplish these objectives. Our guide for 9 days was Sammy Sikumbe, a man of many talents -- eight years of elephant research, expert ornithologist, consultant to US zoos and lecturer in US schools, friendly, funny, knowledgeable, speaker of seven languages and player of four musical instruments. A conversationalist who could respond to our many questions on wildlife and conservation, but also the wider context of Tanzania people and politics and culture. Zohar also arranged for local guides - residents in areas where we visited tribal villages -- to introduce us to their people (in Mto Wa Mbu, Lake Eyasi [Hadzabe and Datoga] and Ngorongoro highlands [Maasai]). Finally, Zohar set up encounters with local NGOs working in areas of public health, land rights and conflict mediation - where we gained deeper insights into challenges and solutions to improve local lives, sustain livelihoods and protect traditional cultures and threatened wildlife and habitat. Every night, we enjoyed comfortable accommodations and great food. Elephants rumbled outside our tent one night, we woke and took our cups of coffee to greet them in the morning - a gentle and memorable meeting. I whole-heartedly recommend Zohar to anyone who wants to go beyond the beaten track of other Land Cruisers and engage with the broader context beyond the game parks, as well as experience Serengetiti, Ngorongoro crater, Manyara, Tarangire and other places where extraordinary wildlife gather.

Amazing Safari and Cultural Experience
I had an amazing safari with Zohar African Safaris this spring. Lilly put together a tailor made itinerary on short notice and was so knowledgeable and helpful. Ken in the United States facilitated and gave incredible input to Lilly and my guide which helped make the trip so memorable. My itinerary was a combination of wildlife viewing and cultural excursions. We visited the Maasai, Datoga and Hadzabe (Bushmen) tribes - all different and all fascinating. We went to three different markets that cater to locals rather than tourists and I learned so much about everday life in Tanzania. My guide had a gift for being able to make conversation with anyone so there were also numerous impromptu cultural times including fishermen at Lake Eyasi and a local woman preserving the fish and others from her village.
And the wildlife - I don't know where to start. I expected to see the usual safari animals like zebras, elephants, lions and wildebeests but I had no idea that I would see so many species large and small. My guide’s spotting ability was amazing and allowed me to see hundreds of birds, small animals, footprints, plants, and more. His experience in animal behavior allowed me to capture photos I would have never gotten on my own. He sensed when we should wait a few more minutes because the animal was getting ready to make a move and he was always right. As a solo female traveler I felt completely safe and taken care of by my guide and the rest of the Zohar staff. My guide and I spent a lot of time together over 12 days and he was professional, knowledgeable, helpful, patient and funny.
I hope to return to Tanzania soon and would choose to travel with Zohar African Safaris again.

Northern Tanzania Experience
We had a five day safari in Northern Tanzania with Zohar African Safaris end of december and it was very, very nice.
Luckily a friend of ours, who has been to Tanzania a couple of months before us, had given us the recommendation to contact Zohar. The planning of the trip was great, because Lilian tailored the trip to what we were interested in and picked cosy places to stay overnight. The price for everything seemed very reasonable to us. From the moment of our arrival we felt really well-cared about and our experienced driver/guide Matthew was very friendly, informative and helpful and after a couple of days we felt like good buddies. The days in the National parks have been marvellous, we couldn't even imagine to see so many animals, from lions, big herds of elephants, giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, zebras, impalas, hyenas, jackals, leopards, cheetahs and many more to the cute little gazelles and the funny pumbas. Besides the animals we also really enjoyed the landscape which changes a lot from park to park and one morning we even made a bicycle excursion to a village with great views and interesting information about the local life. When we had questions during the trip, Matthew and Lilian were responsive at all times and helped us a lot, especially to spontaneously organize our further trip to Zanzibar.
In total we can highly recommend to go on safari with Zohar. They are very professional, kind, helpful and take good care of their customers. To us it was a unique positive experience.
