Trip of a lifetime!
We really enjoyed our experience with encounter. We went on the Gorilla trek in Uganda. Jason was our driver. He made the trip fun and easy and we felt safe at all times. He was very helpful and informative and would go out of his way to help! Thankyou Jason for making our trip a great one! You are the king at card games!

Unforgettable experience!
The team from Encounter Africa Safaris was very friendly, reliable, quick and accommodated all our needs. They were very fast with replies when we were doing our last-minute booking. Our driver was super fun, friendly and knowledgeable. They provided us with all required info, we stayed in an amazing camp/lodge and we had an incredible gorilla tracking experience! Awesome tour
From the preparation, to transferring the payment to the actual tour, every part was well done.
Chris in the office maintained contact about the booking and the tons of questions. Ambrose the tour guide and driver was fantastic, caring, very knowledgeable and flexible. He is passionate about his country, the wildlife and conservation. I've already recommended the tour to my friends and I'm still not done with my tour as of yet. All my wishes about being close to nature and the wildlife were fulfilled. Thanks Ambrose.

Terrific tour of Uganda with Encounter Africa Safaris!
Terrific tour of Uganda with Encounter Africa Safaris! Would recommend and would absolutely travel with again. Driver was friendly, on time (which is a rarity in Africa) and very knowledgeable about the region. He was incredibly flexible and accommodating. I really enjoyed the chimpanzee and gorilla tracking - thanks for a great tour! Excellent and prompt communication throughout the booking process.

Fantastic Gorilla Trek in Bwindi
We had a wonderful experience with Encounter Africa Safaris. They were very prompt in their communications before the trip and then on the trip everything was as described. Our guide/driver Abdul was very informative and friendly and the whole trip from pick up, border crossings, lodgings, gorilla trek, and transportation back to the airport went smoothly. It was a fantastic trip and I would absolutely recommend EAS to others in the future!

Excellent communications, totally reliable, professional company that delivered the goods.
Communications exceeded expectations. Emails were often answered within 30 minutes, even on Sunday night Uganda time. All correspondence was clear without any issues. The payment system was straightforward, the driver was prompt and met us at our location in Mbarara (southeastern Uganda). He was courteous and was easy to talk with.
We chose a medium accommodation, and it was very nice. Excellent view, attractive rooms, good meals, comfortable beds, hot and cold water in the showers, good bed nets. I would actually feel uncomfortable if the accommodations were more upscale.
The safari itself delivered as promised. We had close viewing of a gorilla family for an hour, which is an amazing experience. The hike in was a bit slippery and steep, but was not overly difficult. On the trail we waited about an hour and 1/2 for the trackers to find the gorillas, and then it was straightforward to hike to the site.
Tipping at the park can be awkward, so be prepared with some cash for the trackers, the tour guide and for any porters that were of assistance. My only suggestion is that the issue of tipping should be addressed more openly.
I feel that this is a very reliable company, and I would recommend them without hesitation.

BOOK WITH ENCOUNTER AFRICA! we had the trip of a lifetime. The communication with the support staff was rapid and clear. The tour itself was an incredible experience made all the better by our attentive and knowledgeable guide Patrick who constantly went above and beyond. If you're interested in exploring Uganda and particularly if you are interested in wildlife and photography I would reccommend him highly.
