Good experience
My daughter and I booked a 3 day/2 night safari with Mwema, which included pick up from Nairobi and drop-off in Watamu. Simon was very fast at responding to all our queries in advance. Anthony was our driver and safari guide; he was very flexible and knowledgable about the animals. We felt safe and well looked after. We stayed at Kibo safari lodge in Amboseli which we found to be a very friendly place - we loved our spacious tent. Amboseli was great for viewing elephants in particular, though we were also lucky enough to see a variety of other game including a lion and her cubs. Then we moved to Kilanguni Lodge in Tsavo - this was comfortable and has a watering hole right outside - it was rainy season but we imagine this would be amazing in the dry season when animals visit. We also enjoyed the lava flows at Tsavo. All in all a great experience with a good local company. The safari van was a little bit old, but I think is being replaced very soon after having racked up over 150,000 miles!

Great Family Safari
We had a lovely experience with Mwema Africa Safaris. They provided an excellent price for the dates and style safari we were looking for. They were accommodating, listening closely that we had family members ranging in ages from 78 to 3 years, and made sure each member had a great experience. We visited Serengeti )2 nights central), Ngorongoro Crater (2 nights), and Lake Manyara. They met us in Arusha and transferred us to a hotel outside the city, but before doing so they agreed to stop and let us check out a bit of shopping.
Absolutely first class, best of 4 safaris we have been on
Despite Jambo Airlines attempt to mess it up by breaking their plane at Ukanda we were able to contact the owner late on a Saturday to alter our plans. Our guide, Anthony, was excellent both as a safe driver (rare in Kenya), an on the spot repair man and finder of the big 5 and a lot more. We did the Aberdares/Samburu/Meru/Ol Pejeta safari. All was good but I would have preferred to have swapped the Aberdares for an extra day in Meru. Meru is a delight and should be visited by many more people and the Ikweta safari camp picked by Mwema was a gem. You can never promise Leopards but 3 in one day in Samburu was the pick of the holiday (excepting our daughters wedding that is!!!).

Safari is the best part of Kenya but be prepared for lower service quality
We had with my wife a private 3 day Safari. The trip started in Amboseli, which was amazing - lot of animals and beautiful nature views. Kibo camp where we stayed was also great - tents were perfect, cozy and totally comfy. Then we moved to Tsavo West, which was a bit less interesting. It was very dry and we saw almost no animals. Luckily we are huge fans of nature, which was beautiful also there, so we were happy anyway - but I can imagine that "regular" tourists would be disappointed from seeing no animals there. The Ngulia Lodge where we stayed was also not a very nice place - very old, empty and with low service quality. Our guide Anthony was a nice guy, however he was more like a driver than a guide. He drove us safely to all of our agreed places, but he didn't provide us many additional information - only the name of an animal and some high-level basic info. He also paid more attention to his "fellow guides" than to us, which caused that we stayed for couple of minutes every 500m, when we met some other Safari car to have a talk with them. In general the Safari was great experience, but the service level could have been much better for so much money.

Like a king among the kings
I came across Mwema by chance on the internet and, after some quotations received from about 20 different tour operators, I realized the one proposed by them was the cheapest (2000-2500 dollars for a 4nights-5days private safari to Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro, all inclusive).
Although I had no reference about this tour operator, I plucked up the courage to run the risk to book the safari with them. In the following days I kept in contact with Simon, the owner of the company, who proved to be a very kind, patient and qualified person.
Then I made an advance payment from Italy (we agreed it would be 10% of the amoutn) and, when I was there and safari started, all the possible hesitations disappeared because I was really treated like a king among the kings, that is many lions I had the luck to see.
Driver was Emanuel, a very smart and kind person.
Parks were fantastic, a sort of paradise on earth, and this period of the year proved to be a very good choice for me (low season but no rain, few tourists, lower but not low prices).
The only bad aspect was the place i stayed the 1st night, Twiga Lodge in Mto Wa Mbu, very poor arrangement with a very money-oriented receptionist. Last but not least, the structure was under renovation.

Excellent experience
From the moment we placed a booking the communication was excellent. All through the process of booking our trip, the responses were quick and in the end the safari had all the elements in it that we liked. Communication was clear and easy. The night before we were picked up, one of te guys of Mwema came by the hotel to inform us on all kind of specifics, very good. The actual safari was all we had wished for. We had an excellent driver, he was knowledgeable, kind and a very good wild life spotter.
We would recommend Mwema Safaris to everyone, keep on the good work!

Precious experience
Thank you very much for your coordinating Safari tour as our honeymoon!
All experience on the savannah life has been something precious for us.
For a driver, he was a nice guy and also very kind to us always.
I really appreciate it so much.
Someday, we will come back again to Kenya!!!

Excellent safari to Tsavo east and west
I arranged this safari right before I left the U.S. Once I left, I was out of further communication. I really appreciate Mwema coming through as they had stated before I left the States--it was a month until the actual safari, but they met me as expected. I highly recommend my safari guide, Edward. Besides being patient, knowledgeable, and kind, he had eagle eyes and was incredible at spotting game. The lodges were very nice, with loads of game right outside my window at both places. I highly recommend Mwema for trustworthiness, and for providing an excellent safari.

Friendly, uncomplicated, trustworthy and well organized: Great experience!!
Tourmanager Simon was absolutely helpful. He replied very fast on my emails and answered all my questions patiently and tried to make everything is asked for possible. Even when we've been already in Kenya he was available for further questions (via telephone, mail and whats app) which was very comfortably and easy for us.
Our guide Hassan was a gem. He had a huge knowledge and tried to make everything possible for us to see as many animals as possible. If you read this, Hassan: Thank you very much. We miss you ;-)
