Safari Online were extremely efficient and absolutely charming to work with.
I have a severe intolerance to chemical products such a fabric softener. This can create difficulties when you travel. But the team at Safari Online made sure that all the destinations on our itinerary met our unusual demands. Our 28-day itinerary took us to South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana. A magnificent and unforgettable adventure. Everything ran smoothly and efficiently from the flights, transfers, rides, connections, etc. Absolutely wonderful! Can't thank them enough!

Perfect
We are six older but experienced travellers who usually do our own planning. Luck led us to Safari Online and Walter. His ideas proved spot on. First to Batonka in Victoria Falls, then the Eco lodge In Savuti and finally Ngoma Safari Lodge. Each was different and special in their own way. The game drives from the lodges were wonderful, each of our guides Ren at Savuti and Kenneth at Ngoma were informative and experienced. If there was game to be found they found it.
Throughout our planning Safari Online have been helpful, always answering emailed questions, no matter how basic, straightaway. We've had probably our best ever holiday in years of travel, everything went smoothly. Pickups and transfers were on time. Staff in all the places we stayed were friendly and helpful. I can't think of one adverse remark except maybe seeing a lion that wasn't asleep, though I think if it could have been arranged Walter would have done so.

Fun (and quick) trip to the Serengeti
Had a great time. In retrospect, we made the right decision to stay near Arusha on our first night, given that we didn't arrive until after midnight - so kids were burned out! This led to a nice relaxing Sunday. If I were to change it, I would have toured Arusha National Park in the afternoon, specifically with more focus to learning about Mt. Meru, and just enjoying the area. As it was, we had a nice visit to a lake just south of Arusha, but involved a lot more driving. Arusha itself was ok, but not a lot to do on Sunday as most everything was closed.
Our tour guide (Nelson) was very good as well. Patient. No complaints about him over the entire course of the journey. Drove well, knew where to find everything, very professional. Great with the kids.
In terms of itinerary:
We would recommend maximizing the time in the Ngorogoro crater, and so cut out everything that limits time there. For us, this meant that we wish we had avoided a 45-min side-trip to a Masaii village on the way to the crater, or at least deferred it until the way back. The crater is a very special place, even the time spent on the crater rim is cool. Btw - the camp at the crater was incredible. Great decision.
Seregenti was fine: majestic views and wide open grasslands. We had incredible animal sightings - especially the proximity that you can get to these fella's (but still, bring a zoom lens). Our two camps were VERY nice, and matched our style very well. The safari days are long (all day) vs. the safari's we have done in South Africa (a morning and an afternoon), but that was ok as long as we stopped for bathroom breaks. In the end, we think we learned that we prefer the "2-per-day" safari style common in Kruger.
Kilimanjaro was an absolute highlight. It was great to spend the last day there and tour the area, and gave some good ideas about the next trip to the region (to climb it!). We met up with a guide who toured us through the village, and the Hotel accomodation was ok (weird, with the concrete architecture...very vogue-ish.
Our departure day was EARLY!! We were about 60-min from the airport, and so we had a 3am alarm bell to get to the airplane for our flight to Nairobi. At least the airport had a coffee shop. Not sure if options to stay closer to the airport were available, but it would have meant we had missed Kilimanjaro...which would be disappointing.
So, in summary:
- Good that we stayed the first night near Arusha, since we didn't arrive until LATE
- Would have skipped the Masaii village. Or at least deferred it to the end of the tour
- Serengeti was cool. The tent-camps were fantastic >> lots of animal sounds all throughout, and great food/drink
- Kilimanjaro is incredible.
Hope that helps,

What a Great Experience!
First of all, Walter has been very responsive and truly a pleasure to work with. This was the first time my family visited South Africa, let alone safaris. All the expectations had been exceeded. The amount of time we spent in each location and the amount of activities involved on this trip had been perfect. The accommodations were extremely comfortable. We were able to see the Big 5 and more on each of the reserves and some of them we were able to see them from our lodge. This has been a great experience for us and I would recommend Safari Online to anyone.

Safari Online made our fantastic family holiday dream come true!!
As a family of 13, ranging in age from 8 to 68 years of age, we could never have imagined anything more perfect. We started communicating with Walter Kohrs over a year ago and he put an exciting package together to suit every member of our family. A last minute hiccup with our transport caused us a little concern but Walter sorted it out in a blink of an eye. We were back on track and on our way to Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge, Leopard Mountain Safari Lodge, Amakhosi and then Thonga Beach. Each one was unique. Our favourite was definitely Leopard Mountain Lodge. We were amazed at the amount of game we saw, the delicious food we ate, the fabulous contact we had with local communities, the knowledge of all our guides and the memories our family made together.
Safari Online have been nothing but professional and incredible from the time we made our first enquiry to the last day of our stunning holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for Walter. We are now starting to plan our next family Safari for 2019. Guess who we will be booking with??? Safari Online we hope you are ready!!!!!

Best trip I have ever been on. Highly recommend.
Would highly recommend. Lodges, Sunrock Guesthouse, Imbabala Zambezi Safari, Umlani Bushcamp, The Elephant Camp, were fantastic with excellent staff that were extremely helpful, friendly and nothing was a problem. Safari online asked questions when booking and were efficient and knew exactly what we were looking for in terms of accommodation and animals were wanted to see. Actually got to see the Big 5 which was perfect. Gave advice on a few little extras with no pressure, which we did and am very grateful which make trip even more exciting. Would definitely recommend booking with them.
