Luxury treatment from an experienced safari operator
5/5

We took the combination tour with Kanyezi Safaris of Cape Town (while staying at Spiers Wine Farm in Stellenbosch, safari (staying at Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp) and Victoria Falls in May of 2018. The weather was perfect for us, although South Africa had been suffering from a bad drought. The little bit of rain on one day that we did have was welcome to all. Michael (son of the owner Chris) kept us well-informed about everything!! Questions were answered quickly.

Kanyezi planned excellent activities and free time for Cape Town and the coast...the highlight for me being the penguin colony and a surprise picnic held along the coast. Spiers is a great place to stay with wine tastings, good food, and activities. There are shuttles to get one to places like other restaurants.

We were extremely pleased to be placed at Little Bush Camp in Sabi Sabi. I've never before received such royal treatment! It was a small group taking out two safari vehicles twice each day. For cool mornings we even had hot water bottles for comfort! A morning stop for coffee and snacks and an afternoon stop for “Sundowners” and snacks helped to keep up our energy for looking for Cape Buffalo, lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants (including some babies!), rhinos, hyenas, and millions of birds. Meals were served in different locations and in different forms to keep things constantly interesting. The staff at Little Bush Camp did all they could to make our stay comfortable, entertaining, and informative.

We opted for the helicopter ride over Victoria Falls and also had a river cruise and bomba dinner included in that part of the trip.

Once in a lifetime trip? Would we do it again? YES! We are already scheduled for another trip in October of this year!

Absolutely Amazing!
5/5

Visiting South Africa seemed like something I would be able to do when I retire but instead, I was blessed with a trip with my mom . . . I am 19! We were very excited about this trip and really did not know what to expect. Everything about South Africa is beautiful. Cape Town was so fun and we even had an extra day to tour the winery and farm and I was able to play a round of golf at the neighboring course . . . a completely unexpected highlight. Safari was just amazing! Our ranger Greg, and tracker Zulu, were phenomenal and able to relate to our entire group, regardless of the age differences. We saw everything imaginable but the elephants at the watering hole were the highlight . . . the leopards too! This was a trip of a lifetime and I am so glad I got to experience it! I would absolutely go back to South Africa . . . its a lot of flying but its worth it!
Kanyezi made everything very easy and Manie was with us every step of the way . . . a constant resource who also provided such job and happiness along the route. I was completely comfortable with our tour group and age had no impact! We saw everything, experienced everything and the entire trip was so much fun!

An Emotional High!
5/5

It was a trip of a lifetime! From start to finish, the trip was amazing! Definitely spend the money and fly business class . . . its worth it! Cape Town was magnificent, such a beautiful place. Loved Spier and all the people that work there . . . every employee went above and beyond to be polite, courteous, happy and interested! From there, it was time for safari and that whole experience just blows you away! Sabi Sabi . . . breathtaking! The staff, rangers and trackers, SO great! Safari . . . everything you see on TV but in real life. There were the moments of "WOW" and the moments of "ahhhh . . . no way!" The African sunset is to be marveled. We also added on Victoria Falls and I am so glad we did however Zimbabwe is not South Africa so get ready for your experience to change. Kanyezi made everything super easy and Manie was there for us from start to finish. May was the perfect time of year . . . not too hot and no rain. I spent a lot of time reading about how to pack and it all paid off . . . Kanyezi makes the group size small which is very appreciated. I did a lot of research to pick the perfect trip and Kanyezi was the BEST . . . having the hindsight, I still believe that Kanyezi was the best!

Trip of a lifetime!
5/5

Words cannot describe the emotional high we experienced while on safari. It was other worldly! The shear number of animals we saw was incredible and the fact that we could almost touch some of the animals was breathtaking. We could not have asked for a better trip. From our liaison Chip, to our guide Steph, to our tracker, the cooks, and waitstaff. Each and every employee was an absolute joy. Each employee provided the best care of our needs and you could tell that they loved their jobs. We had two, three hour safari rides each day. Each ride provided us with a zoology lesson on the animals and environment that was amazing. Our guide Steph is truly an amazing person and she taught and shared her passion with us all so much that we are forever changed by the experience. The food was amazing as well. There were a half dozen chefs that prepared the most amazing meals and dishes. Our rooms were amazing, from the oversized bed to the huge bathroom and shower, this was like a second honeymoon for my wife and I. A few animal highlights....leopards mating, lions feeding at night, elephant herds that passed us within 10 feet, hippos, rhinos, puff adder, so many species of birds, giraffes, wildebeests, kudu, impala, dwarf mongoose, and a dung beetle rolling his poop ball looking for a female to mate ;) But the highlight was on our last day. Four lions in the daylight out walking through the safari. Steph positioned the jeep so that they walked by us twice. They were within 6 feet. We could hardly breath. They were they most amazing animals. I still get filled with joy as I think about the experience. If you want to experience the most amazing trip choose Kanyezi Africa Safari. I will be taking my family back one day.

Fabulous!!!!
5/5

Africa......it’s been on my bucket list for a long time. First Kenya, then Tanzania, but then I found the Kanyezi tour for South Africa and Victoria Falls. Decided right then and there....this was it. Took the business class option. Basically flew first class on Qatar Airlines which was to die for. I had never been issued pj’s before. Service and comfort was impeccable. Met at airport, just as stated my Manie, greatest guy ever. Flowers in hand, we proceeded to our hotel, Spier, in Stellenbosch. I see ‘why’ for Stellenbosch. It’s is beautiful. Wine tasting, tours of Cape Town, Cape Point, feeding ostriches, and even a fabulous beachside picnic crashed by a hug baboon. Chris and Manie worked continuously to cater to our needs. Then on to Sabi Sabi Bush lodge. OMGosh! Luxury and beauty tied with a ribbon. Safaris twice a day with a walking safari in the middle. Zwa and Philos, guide and tracker, knew so much about the the animals, the vegetation, the stars, the history, everything you could possibly want to know. I figured up that they fed us seven times a day!! Chip was our Kanyezi host at Sabi Sabi and he took excellent care of us....all twenty that were on the April Safari. All you had to do was voice a ‘want’ and presto, it was there. On to Victoria Falls, via a one night stay in Johannesburg, which was a learning experience in itself. Beautiful airport and the hotel/casino area was HUGE. Vic Falls with helicopter ride, river boat excursion and the walk along the falls was so interesting. Thanks to the Kanyezi staff and especially our fellow travelers, what a fabulous trip.

We were well cared for and the safari experience was top notch.

We enjoyed our tour of Capetown and surrounds and our trip to Cape Hope. The transfers all went smoothly and we thought the safari camp was great. The Victoria falls were stunning and well worth the visit.

An awesome experience
5/5

An amazing adventure with a great team of experts.... awesome trips in the Western Cape, Stellenbosch Valley and Cape Town followed by the greatest part of the adventure in the Sabi Sands area of Kruger National Park. The safaris and animal sightings, up close, were breathtaking. We took over 4000 pictures during our trip. The Spier Wine Estate in the Cape area and the Sabi-Sabi Lodge in Kruger are truly fantastic locations.
We topped it off with an extension to Victoria Falls, a helicopter ride and river cruise which were breathtaking. This was definitely the trip of a lifetime. The Rangers and guides in Sabi are outstanding and our Kanyezi guides of Chris and Manie in Cape Town and Chip in Kruger were just excellent. You cannot go wrong with this amazing trip and team.

Exciting, lavish trip to South Africa
5/5

April 2019 South Africa Safari with Kanyezi. Wonderful accommodations at 1692 Spier about 30 minutes from Cape Town and at Sabi Sabi Bush lodge in Reserve/Kruger. Sabi Sabi Bush had knowledgeable guides and trackers - I couldn't imagine better! The staff provided excellent service; the rooms were spacious and the beds more comfortable than most American beds.I Loved that Kanyezi gave me the option to upgrade my flights to biz class which made my 25-30 hours of flying time pleasant and comfortable. Sleeping on the flight kept my jet lag to a minimum. the Spier was fabulous and the location afforded our group the options of touring the Cape of Good Hope, the Cheetah Center, Stollenbosch, and Cape Town, all within a short distance. Kanyezi provided two sprinter vans for our group which allowed everyone to see the side views and in front of us (larger tour buses don't let anyone see where they're going when they have high seats). For me, it was a bonus to have Chris, one of the owners of Kanyezi, as our driver and guide in Cape Town. I liked that we were treated like adults and not herded around - we had ample opportunities to be on our own to explore both Cape Town and the surrounding areas. In Sabi Sabi, we had activities all day into dinner with daily guided walking safaris in our small group of six. We saw Rhino, Elephants and Water Buffalo while walking - what a thrill - and always safe. I would use Kanyezi again for a South African trip.
