Ken stole our money
Hakuna Matata Safaris is run by the same people who run Congo Discovery Safaris. A quick look at their recent reviews makes it evident that this is not a company or group of people you want to trust. Below is my review on Congo Discovery Safaris. I can tell you that I have had already multiple people reach out to me asking about my review because when they asked Ken about it Ken made up some sort of excuse. Ken told someone that I wrote a bad review because I originally booked a Congo Gorilla trek and then demanded it be changed to Uganda when we arrived. I have also heard it didn't happen because of ebola. Both of these are lies. If anyone wants evidence I am happy to share both my WhatsApp chat history and also a video confession from Ken that states what he did not provide us, as well as the money he owes us. My girlfriend and I booked a 4-day Gorilla and Chimpanzee safari with Ken that was supposed to take place from November 10 – 13. We paid $2608USD upfront for the pair of us for this tour. Ken failed to deliver all aspects of this tour. We were supposed to receive a refund in person in Kigali on November 13, but Ken showed up with no money. He then promised to refund us by November 20, but there was nothing. On November 27 we were supposed to get a full refund, instead we received a partial refund of $570CAD (we live in Canada), about $430USD, but we are still owed $2178. We were then told December 6 that we would receive the rest of the money, but nothing came.
When we first met Ken in Kigali we had some questions about a few recent negative reviews he had written about his businesses. He had excuses for every one, and how the client was wrong and trying to slander him. We gave him the benefit of the doubt, and we were wrong. Do not book with Ken or any of his tour companies.
He stole money from us, he has waisted countless hours of our time, and he does not take responsibility for any of it - it is always somebody else's fault. Reports regarding Ken and Congo Discovery Safari Company Limited (incorporated in Kampala on September 19, 2018) are being filled with both the Rwandan and Ugandan Tourism boards in hopes that other travelers do not have to endure what we had to endue in dealing with Ken and his company.

We had the great pleasure to participate in gorilla trekking and safari with Hakuna Matata Safari. I'm sure I can recommend them as a responsible and professional company. Highlight of our holiday
From start to finish everything was perfectly organised. We booked with short notice for the 3 day Queen Elizabeth Safari tour but correspondence with Ken was always swift and he answered any queries fully. Our driver Moses was exceptional, going well above his responsibilities as a driver and truly caring and making sure we had the best time possible as well as being informative about Uganda during the drive to and from. Our Safari guide Innocent was great and had a vast knowledge of the local fauna and flora. The Engiri lodge was stunning, right in the heart of the Savannah but still serving up some of the best food we had all trip and the staff were always friendly. Amongst the Safari we went on a boat tour of Lake George and chimpanzee tracking which added another dimension to the trip and were both very well organised. We both felt that we covered a week's work in the 3 days. Great value for money - Couldn't recommend it highly enough!!

Great Safari Experience to Murchison Falls National Park
Very uncomplicated communication via WhatsApp. Great service. Good accomodation and food. The Safari itself was a blast. We've seen a lion family with 4 lion babys, a leopard, elephants, buffalos, lots of giraffes ... all from close distance. Joseph was a great driver and guide.

Amazing Adveture in Africa
During our tour with Hakuna Matata safaris in Rwanda and Uganda all was well organized and our guide managed all for us perfectly. So we can enjoy a spectacular holiday with so many fantastic and impressing moments. We saw all kind of wild animals so close to us. A real safari feeling!!! The accomodations had been placed inbetween with great jungle noises in the night, spectacular views and very nice stuff. If you are planning a tour through Uganda, Rwanda and Congo, please contact Matoke tours and you will have an incredible journey.

My Safaris in Rwanda was great! Fantastic country and travel experience. Ken arranged all transportation and that was comfortable. A professional car driver and tour guide showed us all the highlights of Rwanda and explained a lot about the country. The selected lodges were all very atmospheric, super clean and located at the most beautiful spots. Also, the food was excellent during the trip. And last but not the least: Service. We was so well constantly and appreciated a great adventure in this astounding nation.
The Driver, Charles was extremely kind, he was continually trying to do the and make sure we see all animals.

Last Mouth I went with my Friends for a 8 day round trip through Uganda, Rwanda and Congo with Hakuna Matata Safaris and the whole journey was beyond expectations.We booked a private tour to Climb Nyiragongo Volcano, gorilla track and chimpanzees. Everything was perfect for us. Communication in advance was good, our driver knew all the important places, additional info about the country and about the animals. We really enjoyed travelling with Hakuna Matata Company! During the trip everything was arranged perfectas well ( good hotels, good food etc).The Gorilla Trekking was an absolute highlight but also the other places impressed with the variety of landscapes and wildlife. There is nothing to complain about!
