Our guide, Said, the best
5/5

The guide, Said, was really the one who made this experience perfect, we felt very safe and cared for by him, he is also a great explorer of the parks, he has an incredible intuition to find animals and he never gets tired. As for the accommodations and the food, sometimes very good and other times not so much, but I understand that is normal.

An amazing safari experience
5/5

This safari was a memorable experience. We had the chance to live in the middle of nowhere in a traditional camp, surrounded by forest, pretty close to the river and with a bunch of babbons in the trees around us. The food in the camp was decent, nothing fancy but good. There was even a traditional swimming pool which was unexpected so we took full advantage of it.

Said is the best safari guide you could get. Very friendly, he speaks very good english and it's obvious that he really loves what he does. He is very knowledgeable about the plants, the animals etc. He took us with the safari jeep literally everywhere, in places that we didn't even imagine we can go. We were able to see: lions, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, elephants, a lot of monkeys and birds (this was the 2nd day of the safari). 1st day was on the river and we were able to see the crocodiles and a lot of hippos.

It was an amazing experience!

The review below is the personal opinion of Theo and not that of SafariBookings.
Alex Shembago is a big cheater
1/5

At the beginning of July this year i had arranged with Alex a 24 day all inclusive (safaris, visit some tribes, transport , hotels, food etc.) private roundtrip from Dar es Salaam as well final Moshi. About 40% of the agreed amount i payed Alex, the rest i payed the driver/guide during the trip. The old car Alex give us broke down 3 times. The trip from Bukoba to Bokoba and Bokoba to Mwanza was canceled by Alex, because according to him the road was dangerous and the boat did not sail. On day 19 Alex phoned me and say that the money i give to driver is up and ask me to borrow 300 US for the last 5 days of the trip. I did not do this and told him that he still have 40 % of the travel sum in his pocket and that he easy can sent money to the driver. He didnt do that . The last 5 days i had made a 2 trips with an other person and my driver and have to pay for the hotel and food by myself. I said Alex that I want to have at least the hotel and food costs reimbursed for the last 5 days reimbursed from him. He promised to tranfer these charges to me within a few days. I reminds Alex later 2 times of this. Now after 7 weeks i still received nothing. I Moshi i told my expierence to an other man. This man said that he knew Alex and that its not believed that Alex will refund me any money.

Lovely guide great short safari
4/5

I booked a 2 days Safari to Mikumi for me and my mum leaving from Dar.
Our guide Tony was a very sweet and knowledgeable man.I really enjoyed that the company gave us different options for accommodation and different prices to choose from.Even thou the drive to Mikumi was quite long (7h) it gave us the opportunity to see the mainland landscape.
Overall very good experience and would recommend it

4/5

We had a very nice Safari-tour with Emanuel -starten in Arusha. First day Tarangiere - it was very hot this day, we had enough water and good support. Evening/nigth at Panaramacamp nearby Manjara Park. Good meals from a Cook (Rama!) - he cooked only for us! Lunch packet for the next day in Ngorongoro - very nice day! We saw a lot of animals! Back to Panoramacamp; next day to Manjara-park - again a nice Safari-day! Eveline in Arusha, private hotel. Next day to Moshi, evening in Hai, private house. Next das Drive to Lushoto - a Tour Guide was waiting for us and we had a nice Walk to Irente-lodge. Nice Place, but we werde the only guests there! Next das Walk with the Guide Anna through the rain-Wood — very, very nice and Special! Anna is a very nice guide! Irente Farm was a good experience! We had lunch there. Evening at Irente lodge- next das Drive to Tanga - Airport. Emanuel Never has been there, but we found it! Very small plane to Sansibar! Everything was good and in time - Sansibar was nice, but very hot. Thank you for helping us to have a wonderful time in Tansania! See you again in 2-3 years!

Best Safari experience ever
5/5

People working at Usambara Expeditions know what they do and how to do their work in the best way.
From the first e-mail to get in touch with them and along all the communications they were clear, available and fast in answering.
For our budget, they came up with many options which were all of the them the most convenient solutions when compared to other companies.
The service and the accommodation provided were exactly what we have been asking and the Safari tour itself, with an incredible skilled guide, was an unforgettable experience.
I will contact them again for my next Safari.

Unforgettable 3 days Selous Safari
5/5

We booked the 3 nights Selous Safari with boat, game drive and walking safari. Pick up and drop off from/to hotel quite outside Dar es Salaam, was not a problem. Safari itself was an amazing experience and driver Super Mike was excellent. The camp we stayed was well-located next to the park. The lodges were simple but enough, having 3 hours electricity every night to charge, etc. Special thanks to the amazing cook Bruno, who took my food intollerances extremelly seriously. It was also very nice to have a chat with him and his food was absolutelly delicious.
We weren't able to see the big five, but saw lots of animals including elephants, lions, hipos, impalas, giraffs, zebars, monkeys, buffalos and many more. Over all not cheap but good value for money.
