Good and complete as a safari should be.
It was a great experience that I didn't expect to get from a budget tour. It was the best value for money.

Great Experience for the Price!
My colleagues and I were in Kenya for work and decided to add on a brief, affordable safari experience after our convening. After discussions with many companies, my colleague organizing the trip went with Baboon because they were reasonably priced and responsive to our requests. The pick up at the airport was smooth and we were quickly on our way to Maasai Mara (Miti Mingi Eco Camp stay) with our fabulous guide, Stanley. Stanley helped us make the absolute most of our few days in the Mara. He clearly communicated with us, was extremely knowledgeable about the area, and he felt like part of our team after the few short days we traveled with him. The accommodations were excellent for the price and what anyone could reasonably expect. The tents were clean and any minor issues addressed promptly (fixed hot water in a shower and cleaned up a water spill on the floor of one of our tents). The kitchen staff even made our team special chicken because some folks on our team don’t eat beef. Everyone at Miti, especially Justo, was kind and friendly.

amazing
I’ll never forget this very experience, the mountains, wildlife, people and the various cultures. Our leader Titus is really nice and always kind. He is a professional animal-seeker and naturalist! We’ll come back one day and select Baboon again!

Experienced guide with very capable vehicle put us in the right place to get great shots.
I had a great experience with Baboon safaris. It was above my expectations with so many great photos. We were able to get very close to several lions and cheetah. Herds of elephant and buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest etc. Very good value for money with great accommodation and the staff at each camp / hotel were all extremely friendly and helpful.

Professional and efficient
Very responsive crew. I planned last minute and they reply within few hours and organised everything very efficiently. Elsenbrown from the head office is amazing and George the guide was the absolute best!!!! Will definitely want to do another trip with George
Very kind and interested in our wishes. He showed us everything possible.
If you are looking for an adventure and very kind hosts, choose this camp close to amboseli. We stayed two nights and loved it. The tents are clean, the food tastes good and you feel very welcome. Our guide in amboseli was great, he knew where to go and when to go. If we had additional wishes, it was also no problem. We can highly recommend.

Excellent Communication + Professional Service
While there are numerous travel agencies throughout Nairobi offering more or less the same tour packages with the same variations but at different prices, what sets Baboon Budget Safaris apart is the quality of their service and reliability. Initially, I was a bit skeptical since I couldn't really see a difference between their offerings as compared to numerous others, but I believe I secured the best / maximum value for the safari tour of my choice - and it was almost entirely spectacular (more details shortly).
From the very beginning of my planning stages till my arrival in Nairobi and then even during the tour and after, Jemimah's communication with me was top notch - always prompt, courteous and very considerate. I had the pleasure of visiting their office and met quite a few members of their team in person as well - props to Kim and Paul as well, for their kindness and assistance. The entire team works hard to ensure that their operators, driver/guides and hotel/lodge staff work cohesively together throughout the tour, and I witnessed that whilst in their office as well as while being on tour. Jemimah, in particular, went out of her way to assist me with all the necessary information and advice, and helped ease my visit to Kenya (above and beyond just the safari), which can be a little overwhelming for foreign tourists at times.
The tour itself was fantastic - but bear in mind that when one visits during the low or shoulder seasons, one tends to change groups / vehicles almost daily, since there are many different groups, big and small, that commence and end daily, and not everyone chooses the same duration. In such cases, your driver/guide of the day will ideally keep you updated about pick-up/drop-off schedules as well as transfers, and this can be a little confusing at times when there are many different destinations within one's itinerary. But Jemimah was always available by phone to ensure that all such transitions are smooth. Furthermore, in one particular instance, when a particular set of game drives that I had signed up for weren't up to the mark, Jemimah and Paul even went to the extreme of taking decisive and corrective action right away, and delivered exactly that which I had signed up for. This level of professionalism on their part was unanticipated, but highly, HIGHLY commendable.
Otherwise, despite it being the low season, I was very fortunate that I managed to see the Big 5 (and many, many, many more animals and birds, as well as stellar landscapes) throughout my tour. I had chosen the 7 day tour, although I do believe the same can be achieved in 6 days, if one doesn't spend an entire day in Naivasha and just opts for the boat tour / Hell's Gate visit as day-time activities enroute Nakuru / Amboseli. Nevertheless, the accommodations that Baboon Budget had arranged for me were very comfortable in each of the locations.
For those who can, I would recommend an upgrade from Camp Mitimingi in Maasai Mara to something better, just because it gets super-saturated, and when you have early morning game drives, you want to ensure that you are in a more calm and comfortable setting instead of being rushed through meals and check-ins.
Otherwise, in conclusion, I have nothing but the best wishes for team Baboon Budget (especially Jemimah and Paul), and I highly recommend choosing this agency to ensure that you get the most bang for your buck, regardless of the tour you choose.
Best regards,
Sid.
