Great safari trip in Kenya with Baboon early February 2022
I booked a 9-days group safari in February 2022 (Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Amboseli, both Tsavo parks) plus a 5 days stay at Diani Beach. Baboon boss Dennis was very reactive during the booking process and all my wishes were taken into consideration, i.e. I also visited Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and Giraffe Centre in Nairobi and some other locations I wanted to see before safari departure. It was a marvellous journey with Maasai Mara in a luxurious green and many many animals in each park (yes, I saw the Big Five ;-) . My guide Mike Mutunga is a very reliable and knowledgeable guide and was eager to show me the maximum of animals. Although I booked a group safari, there was only one tourist with me during 3 days and most of the time I had the van/driver for myself. The accommodation was budget category, but that was ok for me (good beds and food) and staff was always helpful. I then took the train from Mombasi to Nairobi to catch my return flight and I can recommend this way of transport as well (very modern and clean and right on time).
So I can really recommend Baboon Safari in Kenya.

Epic journey and wonderful experiance
We have booked two weeks safari with Baboonbudget, including Kenya and Tanzania parks. That was an excellent choice for our first trip to East Africa and our first safari. The first lesson we learned is that your safari depends entirely on your guide. Because of that fact, we had an incredible safari thanks to Boniface. Our whole two-week journey started unbelievably when Boniface picked us up in front of our hotel and when we saw that our van was empty. We booked a shared tour, but we were alone in our van together with Boniface for the whole ten days in Kenya. At the start of the journey, we explained that we would like to learn about animals and about history, tribes, way of life, and everything that we can learn about Kenya. Boniface gave his best to explain to us everything, from different regions' agriculture relations between the tribe up to complex Kenyan political history. He spent days answering our numerous questions, so when he left us on the Namanga border, we had a feeling that we learned a lot about Kenya. Safari and parks experience was a wonderful experience since Boniface's trained eye and constant will to see behind the next hill allowed us to spot most of the wildlife habitat. We learned a lot from them about birds, wildlife, different vegetation and climate, animal habits, so we had some basic knowledge for every safari after this. We didn't have any problems regarding camps and hotels since we booked a budget tour and were staying in budget accommodations. Only the camp in Amboseli was below our expectations and needed some serious repairs. Still, all the other places were quite lovely and comfortable. We had a great time in Tanzania also, but we can't compare it to our experience with you in Kenya. We spent all the time in Tanzania comparing parks, people and especially the tour. In Tanzania, we had that (obviously many times practised) tour with probably the same sentences on the same spots, with no additional questions. When you add sleeping in tents in thunderstorms in front of empty tented houses, you can freely say that there wasn't much for us besides Tanzania's great food and parks. But still, that was enough. Maybe Boniface set some high standards of a great guide with whom we left Kenya with a feeling of the understanding country, culture, parks, tribes, animals, and politics. Since we didn't get the same in Kenya, we were a bit disappointed. Still, altogether, we spent a perfect two weeks on this journey with Baboon budget safaris. Thanks Boni!

Best driver
I came to Baboon Budget Safaris by booking a Kenya-Tanzania combo tour through a different tour operator. Bonifas was a perfect driver for our group. He really stays focused on finding the animals. He knows the other drivers in Maasai Mara well and uses the radio to stay on top of all the activity in the park. He’s also nice and fun to be around. If their other drivers are half as good as Bonifas, you can’t go wrong with Baboon.

Great end-to-end service
Did an amazing 10 day tour across Kenya and Tanzania. The whole trip was perfectly organized by the team and our guides were very knowledgable, which made the drives around the parks very enriching and relaxing at the same time.
Great value for money offering options for every type of budget and level of comfort (although budget in Kenya is already quite a nice level of comfort)
Best Safari experience ever
Anthony and Mike were our tour guides for the 3 days Safari to Masai Mara. Excellent communication, travel and accommodation + food. Both guys really delighted us with their guidance and the almost private tour we got in the park. Beautiful days with beautiful people. I only can recommend the two and the travel agency.

They really care
I love baboon safaris. I even went 3 times with them. The owner is very, very kind, he even met me for coffee!!, and he always gave me great drivers, one was called Dennis (for a 1 week trip and a 3 day trip) and he was the best guide ever and one was Anthony and he also was stunning. They REALLY cared for me. I went alone and so it is important you can trust. You can. I d always choose them again. The more expensive the accomodations the better the experience will also be, so I plan to choose their best accomodations always. They really help you immediately, even if it's just a stop for a coke. Anthony identified the tiniest grey birds for me. We saw the wildebeast migration, guess Dennis gave me the best place to film it, he was so motivated to make it the best for me. Miss you all. Hope to be back soon. Dennis wanted to drove non stop from 6 to sunset so that I get the most out of it. Really really so devoted.

Amazing First Safari Experience in Kenya and Tanzania
I will recommend Baboon Budget Safari to anyone who is looking for a budget safari tour. From the start, Dennis has been very attentive and responsive to every question and concern that I have. He also allowed me to customize the itinerary to my preferences and even later on when I brought some friends with me on the tour. The price was also suitable for my budget since I am still a student. My driver guides in Kenya and Tanzania were both very helpful, excellent drivers, and knowledgeable guides - always ready to go above and beyond to meet our needs. I got to see so many animals: zebras, giraffes. wildebeests, antelopes, the big 5, flamingoes, and so many more. The accommodations were basic inside the national parks but that's what you should expect on a safari tour. The food was always good and one night I even got to sleep next to the zebras grazing outside - an amazing experience that I will never forget. Pick-ups and transportation were smooth at every point! There were some hiccups here and there with the logistics because of COVID but what I appreciated the most is that Dennis was always there to help, he has a lot of connections, and he always did what he promised to do. He even helped me get my COVID test certificate to fly back. Everyone I met was helpful and friendly. I could not ask for a better tour and better operator and will definitely go with Baboon Safari again if I ever come back to Africa!
