Once in a lifetime experience!
5/5

This was definitely once in a lifetime experience. I couldn't believe the abundance of life in Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Manyara. It was far beyond my expectations.

Thanks to Jacob we saw the big 5 and all the other famous animals of the savanna - giraffes, zebras, gnus, topis, impalas, crocodiles, hippos, secretary birds, numerous eagles and vultures, and many more. But the highlight was a cheetah teaching his cubs how to hunt a gazelle. Absolutely amazing. We were so lucky, but the luck is just a fraction of the story because Jacob new where (and in this very case when) the "action" is. He is extremely knowledgeable on any matter related to the wildlife. I, personally, am passionate about birds and he was an excellent guide, identifying them in most cases within a few seconds. Once again, thank you Jacob!

As per our cook, Moshi, he was absolutely brilliant in his job. Moreover, he proved to be a great person giving his own slipping bag to my wife in the Ngorongoro camp. I cannot explain how grateful I am for what he did. Thank very, very much, Moshi!

And one, les emotional, remark. If you have any special requests, or something you really want to see, let Jacob know. Just make sure you have clearly set your expectations and I am sure, he will do his best to accommodate them.

Asante sana baba Jacob! Asante sana baba Moshi!

A fantastic experience, and excellent value for money
5/5

I have travelled to 66 countries, and this was one of my best experiences yet. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, all the logistics were handled very professionally, and the value for money was exceptional. It is possible to do a great safari in Serengeti and Ngorongoro without spending a silly amount of money -- do it with Meru Slopes.

I was especially impressed with how they treated me as a solo traveller. In some other countries, I have had bad experiences -- sometimes I've been dumped off from one group to another every day, doing some parts of the tour itinerary twice and missing other parts entirely. One time in Peru, I spend an entire day of a 5-day tour sitting in the tour company's office because they had no group to put me in. This will NOT happen to you with Meru Slopes. They treat everyone as a valued customer. On my tour, everyone except me was a Spanish speaker; the guide explained everything in just as much detail in English for me, as he did for everyone else in Spanish -- he didn't give me a lower level of service because I was travelling alone. On the last day, I did transfer in to a different group because I was doing a 6-day tour while the others were doing a 5-day tour. The transfer was handled very efficiently, and the second guide was also excellent.

I met another solo traveller who also had a great experience with MeruSlopes. He made a mistake, and arrived in Arusha one day too late for his tour. So he expected to miss out on seeing Tarangire National Park. But on the first day of our tour (after his tour had finished), the owner of Meru Slopes transferred him in to our group so he could see Tarangire. So even though it was the customer's mistake, Geofrey still went out of his way to give that customer the full experience.

Wonderful experience for the second time
5/5

Apr 2023
We were so satisfied last year with Meru Slopes Safari and his best guide ever named Douglas and cook named Moshi, that we did it again this year. Beside Terengire, Serengeti, and Ngorogoro we also add lake Manyara this time (which we highly recomend, since it's really different - big jungle - bush and also saw lions sleeping with their full ballies on the tree). Last year we were in july, since we wanted to see big migration of wildebeest and zebras on Mara river crossing. We were more than surprissed when we saw big migration again - this time (end April, beginning of May) there were milions of Zebras and wildebesst in the south of Serengeti. It's really something when you see milions of animals all around you. I must say that at the begining I was afraid about the weather, since this time of the year the monsoon season is at it's ending, but everything was OK and we even liked it more, since it was low season and we were nearly the only one in the camps and also by game viewing. Some roads are really mudy and full of water, but our best guide and driver Douglas managed all of them. He even took us to the camp to the north of Serengeti, where we liked it a lot last year , since the landscape is faboulous. We were the first and the only human guests after 3 months there. Our company was a pride of 9 lions (with 2 cups) and this was a special 'one time' experience when you hear lion roaring in the middle of the night next to your tent. You can feel it right to your bones. Our next level was also tracking the leopard footprints for about 10 kilometers (for the last 7 km also with a help of hyena running in front of our land cruiser) and than we saw a leopard in the grass about 20 meters from the road. The high grass was also very challenging and made us even more concentrated on surrounding. What to say at the end - will probably be back again one day and will choose the same agency and guide and cook. You really can't get better and more knowledabgle guide as Douglas is - he lives in and with nature, respect the animals and know all the answers on our milion of questions. He always said that nature provides. And at last - we were enyoing every single meal that Moshi (best cook) provided us, even that this time we had special requirements on vegetarian and no gluten food.

Wonderful Safari with Meru Slopes
5/5

We got the safari at Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorogoro with Meru Slopes Tours & Slopes around end of April. Before departing for Tanzania, we contacted for reputable companies through "safari booking.com" and chose finally Meru Slopes. Not only did the company offer a reasonable price, but Mr.Geofrey satisfied us with prompt replies to our various questions. Our guide was Mr.Douglas. He had many experience as the best guide and a deep love for wild animals and Tanzanian culture. Because of that, we had a happy time during the trip. The grassland in April was green and vast, and the wild animals living on it were amazing and impressive. After the safari, we trusted the Meru Slopes and had daily tour to Chemka Hot Springs with Meru Slopes additionally. This tour was also very good. We would like thank again Mr.Geofrey, Mr.Douglas and Mr.Nuru(airport pick up/drop and Chemka tour) for helping to make our trip an unforgettable one in life.

Amazing and unique experience of life time. We were lucky and saw the big five and witenessed cheetah eating her pray ( wild beast). Our guide Douglas was very skilled and kind, we learn a lot of things with him. The food made by the cook (Yohan) was very tasty. All over, everything was well organised, the communication was perfect. I highly recommend the agency Meru slopes,

Everything worked well!
5/5

I would recommend Meru Slopes Tour. I attended 4-days shared safari with guide Douglas and Yohan. There was a small change in the proposed program but it did not matter. We saw all possible animals and everything was well organized. Good food as well. I attended the budget tour so accomodation was in basic campsites but clean and sufficient. Airport transport included. Overall positive experience.

Excellent experience
5/5

I should have gone to Tanzania almost one year ago, but I got Covid right before our trip. So this year was my fist time in Tanzania, but definitely not the last one. We decited to travel with Meru Slopes Toures since my boyfriend and his parents were extremly happy with them. Just like last year, we kindly requested to have the best tour guide named Douglas and amazing cook named Moshi. During our week-long trip, we visited Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti. Douglas took us to places, that looked totally unaccessible due to heavy rains, but he managed every single road. And it was totally worth it, because all together we saw 95 liones, 3 leopards and 1 cheetah in just one week (keep in mind that this was during low season when the grass is quite high & we were more exited for big cats, even though seeing other animals was exiting as well). While Douglas provided us with new information and unbelivable sightseeing, Moshi prepared delicious fresh and warm food, so our bellys were always full. I think it is important to highlight the fact that we asked for two vegetarian meals, one of which had to be done according to a special diet and Moshi managed to make something for everone. We really took the roads less traveled and that allowed us to spot some of the predetors that were in hiding, and that other groupes did not have a chance to see. Douglas and Moshi were not just kind and warmhearted people, they were unbelivably helpfull whenever we asked for anything. They helped us set up our tents and took care of each and every problem that might have occured, so we really did have the best travelles possible.
After one week, we continued our way to see Kenya as well. While saying goodbye and after they left us at the Kenya border, we all cryed. If you want to be accompanied with people that really love nature and have great passion for animals, you should definitly pick Meru Slopes Toures and ask for Douglas and Moshi. Teust us, you will not be disappointed. I really hope you will love Tanzania just as much as I did, because natures provides amazing things, if you just care enough to give it a chance.

Nature&adventure
5/5

Meru slopes gave me a fantastic adventure. From pick up and transfer to the tour itself was perfect. The 5 day safari I did was amazing. We saw all the animals and had a great time. Especially our driver, Jacob, is very experienced, knows a lot about animals and can answer any questions. I recommend Meru slopes to everyone.

Unforgettable Safari Experience
5/5

I recommend Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris because it not only convinced with the price, but also offered a straightforward and professional service. The 5-Day Join Group Northern Tanzania Safari included 1 day Tarangire National Park, 2 days Serengeti National Park and 1 day Ngorongoro Crater (including 3 nights in National Park camps). Lake Manyara National Park was not visited after agreement.
We were an international group of 6 with 2 couples; it could not have been a better fit.
The set up of the camp went smoothly and the equipment was fine (tent, mattress, sleeping bag). I slept well. The cold shower at the Serengeti campsite is part of camping. The food was freshly prepared every day and was delicious.

From the beginning we saw many different animals, from the Big, Small and Ugly Five. The savannah and wildlife of the Serengeti enchant. Watching the lions stalk the passing herd of buffalo was an adventurous endeavor. The Ngorongoro Crater is the highlight of the safari, a paradise of wild animals. Despite our guide's best efforts, in the end only one of the big five remained undiscovered.

Jacob is a great guide, all questions were answered competently. He sees animals out of nowhere and took more distant trails to see even more. His ease with explanations and humor contributed to a fantastic atmosphere within the group. And if you are lucky, you will get the pleasure to hear the Kilimanjaro song....
Thank you Jacob, Dula and Meru Slopes for this unforgettable Safari experience!

Unforgettable!
5/5

We had a really nice trip, all organised, but also flexible to our wishes. Our guide Douglas gave us interessting facts (we could ask him everything) and our cook Moshi always created delicious food - both really friendly, funny and they made sure that we feel well. All sleeping equipment was available and it is a nice experience to sleep in the nature in the tent (although a little bit cold;)). Just recommendable!!
