Spectacular
5/5

We have just spent 6 days with Meru Slopes passing through Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro and we are delighted with the experience. From the first contact with Almachius explaining the details of what we were going to do and answering all our questions before coming, everything has been magnificent.
The tour has included transfers to and from the airport and the hotel the day before and after the safari so you don't have to worry about anything other than enjoying yourself.
Swalehe, our driver, has a lot of experience, which is very important due to the state of the terrain during the rainy season. He identifies the animals very quickly and tries to get as close as possible so you can see them perfectly.
Gidion, our chef, has cooked us delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner every day and transmits joy and good vibes at all times.
We have seen the Big 5 and a lot of other animals, we are still impressed. The campsites in Serengeti and Ngorongoro are very... Read more basic, with clean showers and toilets, a dining area and a tent, but you don't need anything else to fully enjoy the experience. We recommend bringing toilet paper and soap.
In short, if you're thinking of going on a safari in Tanzania, Meru Slopes is definitely a sure bet.

It couldn't be better
5/5

It was a fantastic experience. Any nature lover will be amazed by a tour like this, and even more so by the hand of a team as professional and friendly as Meru Slopes. From the beginning, the tour was managed in a 100% personalized way with Almachius and accompanied at all times by the guide and driver Swalehe, who provides great security thanks to his driving skills, knowledge of mechanics and biology; not to mention Gidion, our cook and assistant throughout the trip, the nicest person in Tanzania. They really have made this tour an unforgettable experience. I was able to take some spectacular photos and we saw the Big 5 in a comfortable and reliable car.

Very efficient, accommodating, and quick to reply to any inquiries.
5/5

We did the 6-day, Big-5 Safari and it was awesome! Kelvin was great to deal with. He was quick to reply to any questions we had and all the accommodations he arranged were great. Drivers were all very professional. Herman gave us a lovely tour of Arusha. Our Safari driver, Kunda, was so much fun. He was very accommodating and he got us all of the “Big 5” and so much more…even cheetahs up close!! Getting so near to many of the animals was beyond exciting and at no time did we feel unsafe. Thank you Meru Slopes!

I believe the cost is worth the experience. You get to experience safari with the best guide, Samuel, thank my brother. It is safe, funny and full of knowledge. For those who want to disconnect from the regular word and taste raw nature, this is the right place.

Professional operator, experienced guide, fantastic chef, great value
5/5

We had a wonderful experience with Meru Slopes on our 6-day safari. We did the "migration route" camping safari. Jerome had very professional communication and laid out the tour options very clearly for us. He was always timely in his responses too and answered all of our questions. Our driving guide was Robert, and we have nothing but fantastic reviews for him. He went to school for wildlife studies in Kenya and has been a guide for 12+ years. We were often the first jeep to spot many animals, and he was keenly tuned into the radio with his network of friends. We didn't appreciate how important this was because his friends would alert him of new sightings, and we would zip across the park to maximize wildlife sightings on each day. He was very knowledgeable, spoke great English, and did a wonderful job overall. Would ask for him specifically if we did another tour. Our cook Gideon was also fantastic! We had wonderful breakfasts, hot lunches, and wonderful dinners every day. Thank you Gideon!... Read more We liked the itinerary with Meru because we had three nights camping and a couple nights in a lodge, and they also cover lodging the first night and last night in Arusha. So, the all-in price includes lodging for 7 nights and has 6 days of safari. Other operators said it was a six day tour, but those six days included the first day you land in Arusha with no safari on that day. Pay attention to this when booking! Or just save some time and book with Meru. 5/5 star, locally owned operator. Thank you Meru!

Robert knew the anwser to all our questions and managed to always get us in the best spot possible
5/5

We took the 6 day safari tour with meru slopes. The communication with them is clear and in case of any questions our contact person Jerome got back to us really quickly.

During the safari Robert, our guide, managed to show us any animal we wanted from lions to rhinos and even a pair of baby cheetas. Everytime he managed to get us in the best position to look and photograph the animals.

On top of that we had amazing meals provided by our chef Gideon.

An adventure of a lifetime
5/5

We were picked up by Nixon at the airport who showed us a really good time on the way to the Meru Slopes offices. Almacheus had already done a really good job informing us what to expect of the tour, but talked us through the comming days and answered any questions we had. Nixon made sure we had everything we needed before driving us to our hotel that was already taken care of.

The next day we was picked up by Robert and Gideon, two cool guys in their 30’s with lots of experience in their respective jobs. Robert was an excellent driver who knew every road in all the national parks including all the animal which was to find there. He also had a great sense of humor, was service minded and hard-working! Gideoen was our cook and was very similar to Robert in many ways. Very kind and helpfull. He always prepared delicious food for us. We stayed with them for a week and I truly consider them as friends. The trip wouldn’t have been the same with another crew.

We saw everything... Read more we wanted to see and more. It was an adventure of a lifetime and I would recommend anyone who’s considering going on a Safari should go. Meru Slopes will setup everything for you seamlesly, to a good price and make sure you will have a good time.

Everything was perfect. We saw the Big 5
5/5

Everything was perfect. The two drivers from the airport, the 2 drivers for safari and the chef were very good. As for the safari, we saw the Big 5, and that was thanks to Samuel. He searched for the animals, and when we found them, he got us closer so we could have a better view. Whatever we asked for, he found it for us. Every day, he cleaned the car, helped us with our belongings, and explained everything about the animals and the parks. He was always smiling and definitely made the safari experience even more unique and perfect. Almachius was very helpful, we had excellent communication, and he assisted us in booking the safari with Meru Slopes. Asante Sana

They are amazing
5/5

We booked a 6 day private custom safari. We were picked up from the airport in Arusha by Fidelis, who told us some basic and important words in Swahili and general information about tribes in Tansania. After finishing all payments at the meru slopes office with Jerome they gave us a ride to our accommodation and managed for us to get some homemade food.
The next day Asantaeli, our guide, picked us up and we started the safari. The national parks we visited were: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorogoro Crater. It was just amazing. We saw many animals and Asantaeli answered all our questions about them. We even saw a pack of hyenas hunting successfully. The lodges were all very comfortable and clean with very nice staff. The Hhando Lodges was serene. We will never forget the sunset at the Camp (Heritage Camp) within the Serengeti. The provided food was plenty and delicious.
The last day we spent with Jerome and Nickolson, who showed us the local food markets and shops in... Read more Arusha. We also went for a small hike up a hill and looked at the city.
This whole experience was perfect and we are very thankful.

amazing experience
5/5

We had a delay and our flight was move to another airport. Thanks to Gift Tembo we always felt secure and everything was perfectly coordinated. We were talking by WhatsApp and he organized our pickup in the new airport.
Regarding the tour, our driver and guide Nuru was amazing, he manage to spot animals so far that for us were just a small pixel. We sae the big 5, ugly 5, serval cat, a lion eating, leopard and cheeta hunting( but failing )... Was an amazing experience. Also he was telling us a lot of information about the animals, the big migration, geography...
Finally our chef Yohane prepared delicious local food everyday. He even made homemade bread! Was so taste that i had to ask for the recipe and he gave to us. Also he was teaching us some Swahili words and he had a great sense of humor.
If you have the opportunity ask for them in your tour!
