3 Day Safari
I can thoroughly recommend this experience to anyone that is looking to do a Safari. This was my first Safari and the 3 day trip to the Serengeti Np and the Ngorongoro crater was unforgettable. Our guide Douglas was very accommodating and his knowledge of the parks and the animals was incredible. He always made sure we were comfortable and I felt really lucky to have him on the trip. The campsites we stayed at were well equipped and had all the amenities we needed at a reasonable price. Overall, the experience was outstanding and I can’t thank everyone who made it so special enough.

Superior Safari Experience
One year ago I decided to fulfill a lifelong dream with my sister of going on safari. I embarked on researching the options of which countries, Tour Company and activities. After a few months of exploring many possibilities and prices, I selected Meru slope tours. Their name says it all. I worked with Luis for the last year. He provided excellent timely customer service. I am not exaggerating when I say that we exchanged 50+ emails as I was crafting the perfect 8 day safari adventure. Once the destinations were identified, I really appreciated that he offered Standard, Comfort, Exclusive and Premium accommodation options per location. He went above and beyond by providing me with extensive information. I was pleased with all my lodges on safari. For your first safari, I highly recommend using a safari expert to guide and protect you. I would strongly suggest to only use a Land Cruiser vehicle due to the weather conditions and terrain. We had 2 different safari guides. I completely trusted them. They delivered excellent knowledge of the animals, environment and culture. The simplest things like adapters and chargers can sometimes become a challenge, as well as bathrooms and logistics, but rest assure the guides know what to do. Something I admired with all 2 guides was how connected and resourceful they were with the other guides in the parks. There is definitely a brotherhood that is based on comradery. Even when we encountered some challenges, Luis responded immediately to resolve the situation. One great example was upgrading our vehicle and we were very satisfied with the outcome. I would also like to state that the majority of people we encountered were kind, thoughtful and accommodating. My experience in Africa was very positive and safe. Meru slope tours did everything to make our adventures memorable that will last for a lifetime. I can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful experience
We ordered the “Private tour only two persons in the car and accommodation in lodges” - which wasn’t cheap, but absolutely worth it.
From the start the communication was swift, all my questions were answered fast.
I ordered the trip several months in advance and the whole trip unveiled as outlined in the itinerary.
This is what was included in the price:
- Accommodation for 2 nights before and after your tour are included in the price in Venice hotel
- We will pick you for free from airport and also drive you back to airport on departure
- All meals while on tour, accommodations, park fees, transport, drinking water and taxes are included
Right after landing in Kilimanjaro airport we saw our guide waiting for us with a sign with my name and he drove us to the Venice hotel in Arusha town where we spent our first (and last) night of the trip.
Since we did not buy a low budget trip, I would really recommend the company to change this hotel for something better. The Venice hotel is very simple, it has quite bad reviews, bathroom stunk, windows could not be closed fully so there was noise form the street, breakfast was terrible and room was claustrophobic.
The second day our guide Benson (hope I’m remembering the name correctly) was waiting for us.
He was our guide for the whole trip. He was very nice, kind, in a word Gentleman. He was very knowledgeable about history, parks, the animals and so we learned a lot of interesting information.
Thanks to him we saw a huge number of animals,he always knew how to park right so that we had the best possible view. The whole system of communication between all the guides in the park is very good and thanks to that tourists can see a lot of animals…
Therefore, I wholeheartedly recommend going through a guide/company rather than stumbling through a park aimlessly on your own.
We spent 6 days on safari and thanks to that we had a lot of time to enjoy each park to the fullest.
Our itinerary looked as follows:
Day 1:
After breakfast from Arusha, proceed to Tarangire National Park for a full day game drive with picnic lunches, later proceed to Endoro lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
- The Hotel was beautiful, Tarangire park was full of animals we saw there everything that could be seen, leopard, pack of lions -luckily, they were just crossing the road, bunch of elephants, giraffes...
Day 2 :
After breakfast, proceed to Serengeti National Park for a game drive with picnic lunches,
-during the drive we were enjoying the views - Ngorongoro, we visited the Masai village.
As we were approaching the borders of Serengeti the true safari begun, huge herds of wildebeest, zebra -it was an unbelievable experience passing through this and witnessing it so up close. We managed to see hyenas, vultures, another pack of lions just chilling and a leopard lying on a tree very up close. Towards the night we arrived to Kati kati Tented lodge, where we were accommodated for two days - I was looking forward to this accommodation very much and it was absolutely amazing.
Huge tents, fully equipped, bed, toilet, shower and situated in wilderness.
Day 3 :
Game driving in Serengeti, searching for my favourite cheetahs and we were incredibly lucky, not even 100 meters from our accommodation we witnessed a pack of three cheetahs just about to go hunting, excellent experience.
And from there it was only better and better….
During the day we saw a big family mother with 4 cubs, male feeding on a kill, another mother and her cub with a kill, all that very up close, within a meter from the car.
And of course, when we were coming back, we saw our neighbours - the 3 cheetahs from the morning chilling out in the shadow.
Day 4 :
Early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park and enjoying the sunrise, back for breakfast and then proceed to Ngorongoro Crater (Ngorongoro wildlife lodge).
During the drive we again saw a lot of beasts of prey, this time it was lions and a lot of cubs lying in the treetop, just awesome.
Day 5 :
After early breakfast, proceed for a Full Day Crater tour with picnic lunches at Ngorongoro Crater, Only caveat, it would be better to arrive later to Ngorongoro, we arrived early and had to leave the park at 14:00 already.
But the experience was great again, the park is beautiful, and we saw everything from up close again, even spotted a rhino and herby completing our BIG FIVE.
Day 6 :
After early breakfast, proceed for a full day game drive at Tarangire National Park with picnic lunches, later proceed back to Arusha in the evening.
This park is very small compared to the other parks and I’d recommend joining the tour with some other Park tour since we managed to finish the tour in a few hours. But at least we could enjoy the pool at the hotel and make ourselves comfortable.
The whole trip just flew by and then it was all over,
But I and my mom we’ll have a lot of beautiful memories.
I wholeheartedly recommend witnessing it all on your own.

Spirit of Africa
If you want to experience the african spirit and you do not have lot of time, this tour is simply perfect. I took part in a shared tour and, even if it was not possible to follow the scheduled plan, the staff was able to manage the inconvience and fins a solution: to be honest spending two nights in Serengeti instead of only one was worth it!!
For my part everything (communication, service, food, etc) was really good and I will strongly recommend.
Special mention to the driver/guide mr Salehe, who was really nice and helpful not only with our group. He managed to let us see all animals, specially the big Five including Rhinos...
If you are travelling with mr Alid Tashidi, ask him to prepare his famous soups, very tasty!!!
After this tour I really felt in love with Africa more than before!

Honeymoon of our dreams!
My husband and I have spent 2 amazing weeks in Tanzania. A romantic week in Zanzibar and 6 wonderful days in the mainland, exploring the beauty of many national parks such as Tarangire National Park, The Serengety, Ngorongoro National Park/Crater and Lake Manyara. We couldn't have wished for a better safari experience than what Meru Slopes has given us.
Ben was our driver and tour guide, who is so knowledgeable and kind, he was so prepared for everything on the road and has given us all the time we needed to take a look at those magnificient animals and landscapes. He was very informative and helpful and was willing to answer every question what popped in our mind. He has explained a lot about African cultures and the Tanzanian tribes (he also took us to visit an interesting maasai village and showed us around a local market) and we were always among the first ones to spot animals, thanks to his great knowledge about the parks. He has kept us well informed, safe and moreoever entertained for the whole week! Thank you Ben!
Godi was our private chef for those days and we can only recommend him, just like Ben! On the first day we met him, he asked us about our food preferences/allergies and keeping all those information in mind he served us plentiful and delicious hot meals every day, sometimes once but most of the times twice a day. For those few times when we didn't get the chance to drive back to our campsite he has packed a nice box of cold and healthy lunch keeping us all energized for the whole day. The meals were fresh and very tasty. He has used lots of vegetables and some fresh meat and we would have often been served Europen meals too. Thank you too, Godi!
Camping 3 nights in tents in the middle of the Serengeti and in Ngorongoro National Park was an amazing experience, a bit challenging to be honest (haha), but not everyone gets sooo lucky to fall of sleep to the sound of wild animals. :) We would do it again, any time!!
Both Ben and Godi are lovely professionals with many years of experience on the field, literally. :) My husband and I are very pleased with my first (it was the second time for hubby) safari tour, Meru Slopes has done a brilliant job and we can really recommend them with a peaceful mind! Geoffrey, Ben, Godi and all the team, thank you so much guys from the bottom of our hearts for making our honeymoon as special as it could have been! Wishing you all the best and hope to be back one day for another crazy game drive in your beautiful country but maybe for 2 weeks that time... :) Your friends, Niki & Ivan from Ireland

Excellent quality for amazingly affordable price
Me and my wife went for a Safari in northern Tanzanian circuit as part of our honeymoon. We've never done it before, so we had a lot of questions and doubts regarding every single aspect of the trip. Eventually, we've chosen a 6 days shared budget Safari with Meru Slopes, and if I could do it again, I wouldn't change a thing.
We've contacted Meru few months before and they've made a good impression from the very beginning. Geofrey was responding very quickly and provided us with all the answers we needed. All the prices they gave us early on were exactly the same in the end. There was no additional fees or anything like that - one single price covered to and from airport transportation, accommodation before and after the trip and of course, the Safari itself. What is also important to add, is that no payment was required prior to arrival, so we felt really safe. Generally, when it comes to trustworthiness, Meru Slopes is a solid 10/10.
Now, for the trip. It was definitely one of the best things we've done in our life. Our guide left no questions unanswered, and he was able to predict the animals behavior and always catch the best spot for watching. He was also extremely dedicated to his job, so he was staying on the road as long as we wanted. When we were about to visit Ngorongoro, he suggested starting very early to see the rhinos before they hide from the people, and we were actually the first car to leave the camp.
Last but not least, food. We were not hungry for a single moment, each breakfast and dinner was a real feast. Lunchboxes that we received for the day were also decent and tasty. My wife, being a vegetarian, was handled professionally, not just with no-meat versions of regular stuff but with specially prepared dishes.
Overall, choosing Meru Slopes for our first Safari might've been one of the best choices we've ever made. I can recommend these guys wholeheartedly, without a single word of complain. And we will definitely use their services again in the future, next time in a different season.

Best experience ever!
It was the best choice that we could have for holiday.
Safari is the best experience that we ever had, and it was perfect only thanks to our tourist guides: Meru Slopes. From the beginning, making the reservation, we had great communication, they answered all our questions. They are very reliable and professional. They provided us with transport and the hotel before and after safari.
Our driver and guide: Edith was great and knew answer to every question.
Also, our cook: Action was the best that happened to us. Meals were simple but always delicious, and we didn't have any stomach problems.
And the most important: safari was wonderful, we saw so many animals, we managed to catch Big Five. And again: this happened only because of experience and skill of our guide.
We can highly recommend this tour and this company to everyone.
It's worth every penny.

On safari to Serengeti and Ngorongoro with Meru Slopes Tours was unforgettable beautiful!
I went for 3 days on Safari with Meru Slopes Tours to Serengeti and Ngorongoro and it was wunderfull. The night before I slept in the Arusha Tourist Inn hotel; also from the owner off Meru Slopes& Tours; a basic but clean hotel; just good! Too see the animals in there naturale habitat was realy moving for me. During this 3 days I received very much respect for our driver and guide Benson who tireless drove us around so we could see as much animals as possible. I think we saw all off them; the big five, zebra's, impala's, monkeys, gnoes, etc etc. The roads were sometimes fairly heavy because it rained some days before, but for Benson it was no problem at all. He also give us a lot of information about the animals. A realy nice guy!just as our happy cook Mathew who prepared lovely, nutritious meals for us 3 times a day. Both guys made this safari great! The tents on the campingsite were we spend 2 nights were also good! The toilets and douches were clean and...unbelieveble but also there Free Wifi! During the night a zebra grazed next to my tent and 2 elephants were just passing by the campsite, but it was never dangerous. It was an experience I never will forget.

Fantastic safari thanks to Geofrey, Benson and Matthew!
Where do I begin describing the amazing 3 day safari I had with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris? I feel I lack the words to describe what a great time we had.
We where short on time and could only do the 3 day safari through Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, but thanks to guide Benson's knowledge of the parks, we where able to see all of the Big 5 in such a short time. It's amazing to see how Bensons takes you to all the wild sightings in the park, he seems to have a "wild animal magnet" to him :-) It's like the animals are coming to him instead of the other way around :-)
Cook Matthew provided very taste meals. He often amazed us with his fine cuisine skills, providing delicious soups, salads, quiches, home made fries and pizzas, cooked brown rice, succulent chicken and meat, plenty of healthy vegetables and sweet fruits. Matthew made sure everyone's stomachs where filled, ready for the next safari adventure.
Before booking, we had been in touch with Geofrey for months. Whatever crazy time of the day (or night) we sent Geofrey a question, Geofrey answered quickly and took away all our concerns.
To sum it all up, if you're looking to enjoy an Tanzanian safari on a budget, don't hesitate to book with Meru Slopes and ask for Benson and Matthew and you will definitely have a great time.
